Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

Just been approved and prescribed! Can't wait to start - hopefully by mid week Smile

EVK · 29/09/2024 14:21

I’ve loaded my pictures etc. with Boots - I notice nobody else is using Boots! I know it’s expensive through them, I went with them as a trusted provider? I’m waiting to hear back. Feeling scared about starting but can’t carry on trying and failing at weight loss. I have 2 1/2 stone to lose which I know isn’t a huge amount but feels like an insurmountable mountain. For the last two years I’ve been trying and all my efforts seem useless since menopause! I need some help to stop the evening binges and just hope I’m making the right choice. Side effects and health implications are scary. Hope I can join you all here soon. I too have my 56th birthday in December and can’t go into my birthday and Christmas feeling the way I do with the inevitable weight gain that comes with it !

Look forward to hearing how you get on. Where did you go for your prescription?

WeeklyJab · 29/09/2024 14:50

I had my first dose yesterday. It took about 36 hours to get the approval email and it arrived the following afternoon.

I am very, very tired today, so I’m glad I took my first dose on the weekend when I didn’t have anything urgent planned.

The needle is so fine as to be almost not there; the injection itself was easy and totally painless.

Good luck everyone

thekewgirl · 29/09/2024 14:51

@EVK - I used medexpress but looked at Boots too. I think they are all roughly the same. I am very similar to you. I am early fifties and menopausal. I've gained over 2 stone in the last two years despite having the same lifestyle. The weight just won't shift and it's getting me down which then makes me lose the enthusiasm for exercise etc. I reallly need a kick start

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 29/09/2024 15:35

My 1st 2.5 pen is being delivered on Tuesday. Excited to start, my BMI is 41 and I'm the heaviest I've ever been! I'm really short too 😭 so excited to start!! I'm waiting on my food shop to be delivered today to so well prepared for thr week!

Rockfordpeach · 29/09/2024 18:15

Is anyone taking any supplements alongside? I'm taking symprove which is a liquid probiotic but only because I was gifted four months worth for free. I've also ordered some peppermint gel capsules which is supposed to help any wind/sulphur burps and I've read that drinking electrolytes is good so I've popped some coconut water in my grocery shop because it has electrolytes but is also really effective against dry mouth. Probably gone ott to be honest 😂

I haven't thought about supplements yet but I have seen loads mention it. I need to buy some electrolytes!

comewhinewith · 29/09/2024 19:05

Probiotics are definitely good for digestive issues/reflux in my experience

bughunter · 29/09/2024 19:30

I've just done my first injection this evening - hoping it's ok to join you all even though it's still September today Grin I am enormous ... 5' 7" and 17st 9lb so am really hopeful I get some quick progress to spur me on.

PolaDeVeboise · 29/09/2024 19:39

I ordered on Thursday, and took delivery today. Looking to start Tuesday night, as away for work, and don't want to risk not being 100% It's all so exciting. REALLY praying it works for me!

DandelionsDaisies · 29/09/2024 19:46

Will anyone be following a low calorie diet whilst on this?

I'm going to calorie count and aim for 1200 cals.

BananaNirvana · 29/09/2024 20:04

Hi, started two weeks ago and have lost half a stone. Not really getting any side effects - should I be?? I can’t tell if it’s psychological or physiological at the moment but I haven’t binged since the first jab 😳

I ordered this afternoon, and hoping to start towards the end of the week. I’ve got about three stone to lose - I’m 40 in six months and I really want to start a new decade feeling good about my body.

LanieM87 · 29/09/2024 20:15

Hi all, I'm sat on the sofa with my first pen - I'm excited to start but feeling a little bit nervous about jabbing myself.
Hopefully I won't have many side effects. I'll be calorie counting on nutracheck too. I've never properly calorie counted before and I think that's where I've gone wrong in the past , so planning on holding myself accountable!!

Good luck all!

BananaNirvana · 29/09/2024 20:18

I haven’t been advised to calorie count - what calorie deficits have people been recommended?

Google a TDEE calculator and then take 500 calories off the number is gives you. Then you're in a calorie deficit :)

Rawrrawr1 · 29/09/2024 20:31

Does anyone know the cost for these, I know for the first month (with a discount) it would be £120ish but following months as I can see you have to up the dose, what ballpark should I be looking at? Ta

If you Google Miss Mounjaro, there is lots of helpful guidance about the costs and the best places to order from

Hopefully you got on ok! 🤞🏻

That was me just an hour later than you. Got everything ready, watched some videos, was feeling confident until it came to actually doing it...then had a nervous wobble. Which is crazy because I've shoved sewing needles through my ears more than once (years ago) 🙈

Went slowly & actually couldn't feel a thing. So far so good. 😊
