Rockfordpeach · 28/09/2024 17:08

Hi,
I've taken the plunge and ordered Mounjaro through MedExpress. My prescription was accepted today and as long as it arrives in time I plan to start on Thursday (my birthday is on Wednesday 😂😂). I thought I would start a thread for any new starters if anyone is interested 😊

Im also day 5 into week one I've had a really good week so far found injection easy to do and did it Monday morning

After i did the first injection i did get a werid metallic taste in my mouth it lasted for 2 days but then subsided apart from that I've felt fine on it i feel I've slept better as well !

Ive not been hungry at all not thinking of food i look in fridge and just don't fancy food!

Im also counting my calories and just sticking to 2 meals a day i start with a cup of coffee and then have something around 11ish so i don't bother with lunch and then don't eat till 5/6pm. Drink water in between and may have a cup of coffee in afternoon

Im looking forward to weighing myself on Monday

TheOtherSide21 · 11/10/2024 06:34

Well done on all the losses so far. It seems to be working well for the majority. Weigh day for me. 5.8lbs down.

thekewgirl · 11/10/2024 07:34

Weigh in for me too! Lost 5lbs which I am super happy about. Feel I've been making good choices and lots of exercise.

I did my 2nd injection yesterday - a day early - yesterday I could feel the change in me peak back to rummaging through the fridge and cupboards feeling hungry and wanting to graze on anything to hand. Wednesday was a little like that but discipline was fine to stop me snacking.

SW - 175lbs
CW - 170lbs
GW - 140lbs (BMI of 24)

Loving hearing all the stories and hope those who hadn't felt suppression feel some soon 🥰

RunSlowTalkFast · 11/10/2024 07:40

Week one of absolutely no suppression and I've lost the princely sum of 1lb! Usually lose 3-5lb the first week of SW/WW!

I started the week making an effort but then developed a bad cold and I'm always staaarving when I've got a cold and was too knackered/bunged up/sore throaty to do the exercise I usually do! 🙄

I think I'd be more annoyed if I'd not already lost 2 stone by myself over the past year. I'm now less than a stone (10lbs!) away from being 'just overweight' which I think is doable by the end of the year even if this takes a few weeks and a higher dose to kick in for me.

Well done on the big losses!

@RunSlowTalkFast remember, 2.5 is just a loading dose and lots of people need 5 to start feeling the effects. 1lb off is still 1lb off! I only lost 2.5lbs and had good suppression the first half of the week.
keep going and think positive x

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 11/10/2024 07:47

8.9lb down! So pleased!

SW 16st 5.9lb
CW 15st 11lb
GW 10st 7lb (not sure yet)

Well done everyone on amazing losses!

UpUpUpU · 11/10/2024 07:47

I am week 2 day 2 (injected Wednesday night). I am completely off my morning coffee. Can’t normally do anything until I’ve had it. This morning I was up after a fabulous sleep (almost 10 hours!) straight onto laundry, my sons school admin and cleaning the kitchen without even thinking about coffee. I will have it as I need it to poo 😂😂😂

Interesting article I just read

That’s very interesting. Thanks for the link.

FuckOffGerms · 11/10/2024 07:56

I’m just over 12 hours in and I didn’t want pudding after tea last night, which is very unusual.

I’ve got low level nausea, but nothing that I can’t cope with - it feels very similar to the early stages of pregnancy. Except I ate my way through that, which is why I’m in the state I am now 😂🙈

@TheOtherSide21 @YummyCookie @TheAmazingShrinkingWoman Well done! Those are great loses!

Fizzleaway · 11/10/2024 08:17

What kind of meals/food are people eating?

I will need to do a food shop this weekend and welcome any fresh ideas.

I do have a TON of frozen fruit so some smoothies will be on my list over the next few weeks to use it all up.

I stick to meat and veg, pretty much all my carbs come from green veg and dairy with the occasional carblite wrap.

One pot meals like casserole, chilli with lots of mushrooms in the mix as I don't like beans, fajita mix which I serve with added veg instead of wrap, scrambled egg/omelette.

When DH and DD are having stuff like lasagna I hold back some of the meat in red sauce and use it to stuff mushrooms or peppers that can be cooked alongside. We've all swapped out breaded chicken for drumsticks or breast steaks, DH and DD will have potato wedges while I have double portion of green beans or asparagus or broccoli.

I'm planning on just eating the same - our dinners are always fairly healthy but we tend to have pretty sizeable portions so I'm cutting down on that. Last night we had chilli - I served myself a portion half the size I'd normally have and couldn't even eat half of that small portion. Tonight we are having my favourite https://www.gousto.co.uk/cookbook/fish-recipes/goan-prawn-balchao-curry-with-basmati-rice

I still can't figure out if it's placebo effect right now but I figure placebo effect - if it's helping - is valid too!

I've pretty much eaten the same just about half a portion compared to normal, but we always ate quite healthy mid week meals anyway it was just the portion size/weekend binges that were OTT! E.g. this week we've had jacket potatoes, pasta bake, risotto, soup. For lunches I've had either leftovers from the night before or houmous and carrot sticks. Then an Arla protein pudding, M&S cheese clouds or fruit as snacks (I bought kiwis and dried apricots in case of constipation).

NearlyAutumnNow · 11/10/2024 08:51

Well done on the losses everyone!!
Weigh in day for me today, end of week 1:
SW 15st 12lb
CW 15st 6.5lb
GW 11st ish

lost 5.5lb. Bring on week 2, my suppression is back and the cupboard raiding of day 6 has gone!

TheOtherSide21 · 11/10/2024 08:52

Food wise - I can’t stand salad / green food / most veg so I have to be quite creative. I also don’t deny myself anything I just keep it within my macros.

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast - Ham and cheese bagel thin
Arla Protein Yoghurt

Lunch - Wrap with chicken, cheese, and a
handful of crunched Doritos with
Nando’s mayo and salsa.
Arla Protein Yoghurt
(This is a CHUNKY calorie meal but I
like lunch as my main meal of the
day).

Dinner - Chicken Breast with grilled cherry
tomatoes and some balsamic glaze.

Today:
Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, 2 bacon medallions, handful of grilled cherry tomatoes.
Arla protein yogurt

Lunch - Chicken breast with grilled tomatoes
Arla Protein Yoghurt

Dinner - Ribeye Steak with mash, grilled tomatoes, and a bit peppercorn sauce.

This is a great idea, thanks @InfoSecInTheCity

Pickled21 · 11/10/2024 10:02

I'm 6lb down after my first week so now down to 14 stone. Now to up the ante with the exercise this week to see where I can get to. Does anyone have any recommendations for exercise programmes you've done at home?

Bellablahhole · 11/10/2024 10:09

Some fantastic losses being reported - well done everyone!

Tiree1965 · 11/10/2024 10:21

I've taken my first jab this morning, fingers crossed all goes well. I'm starting at 13 st 6.75 lb so have 3.5 stone to reach the top end of the healthy weight range as I'm not very tall.
