I see so many threads for people who all started about the same time as each other and think it must be good to have people at similar stages that you can share stories with and go through it all together.

There is a Sept thread but those guys have all started already.

Anyone due to start in the second half of Sept that would be interested in a thread?

I am just waiting delivery of my first pen today but don't plan to inject until Sunday evening. I WFH so cannot work out if having the 'worst' of any side effects ruining the weekend is better/worse than having to work through them on Mon/Tue. However, I have a couple of weekend social things coming up and decided it might be easier to do them when my previous injection is starting to wear off a bit - so Sunday nights it is!

Hi, please can I join? I had my first shot yesterday. I have had a mild bout of covid so not sure if that's making me feel a bit off, or the Mounjaro is! It's manageable though, kind of tired mainly.

My starting weight is 13st 12 and I am 5ft 4.

@Bellyblueboy I ordered Tuesday afternoon - was cleared later that day. They posted with RM on Wednesday and it arrived (perfectly packaged, ice still frozen) on Thursday.

I did the injection last night (easy peasy) and now just waiting to see if anything happens or I feel different (nothing yet).

Thank you.

i have just been notified that my prescription has been cleared so hopefully that means I receive it Monday or Tuesday!

I am now panicking that I will be at work when it arrives! Did you need to sign for it and was it still cold?

I am so impatient - wanted it for the weekend so I could take it in Saturday and deal with initial side effects while home!

Cocoaone · 20/09/2024 14:03

I just put my order in yesterday so I'm waiting for approval. Like so many others, I've been thinking about starting for ages but the side effects have been putting me off.
I managed to lose just over a stone at the start of the year but fell off the wagon after a health scare and I just never manage to get back to it - I'm a complete blood sugar rollercoaster rider and emotional eater. I'm hoping that not thinking about food all the time will allow me to cement healthy eating habits. I actually live fruit and veg, but get stuck in a cycle of carbs and sugar and UPF.

I'm currently just under 14st and BMI of 31. I'm 40 and want to get slimmer and healthier in preparation for peri hitting me hard, I can't add peri weight on top of this current weight or it'll never come off!

45fatandtired · 20/09/2024 14:03

Commenting just so I don't lose it !
I have my own in the fridge , planning for Sunday ( going out for curry tomorrow evening ) so didn't wanna risk it !
My final hurrah 😂

I am a few years ahead of you and the peri weight is a bitch! Wish I had a Time Machine😂

Cocoaone · 20/09/2024 14:13

@Bellyblueboy My mum is very overweight and it piled on over peri/menopause, and I don't want to limit my mobility and life in the same way it's impacted her. I have high cholesterol too, and one of my friend's mum has just dropped dead at 65 from a heart attack. I really want to go into this next stage of life as healthy as possible.

Cocoaone · 20/09/2024 14:15

Oooh I've literally just had the email to say my prescription has been approved! Hopefully it will be delivered at the start of next week.

Nervously excited!

Baconking · 20/09/2024 14:38

DH & I jabbed eachother about an hour ago.
I got him to do mine as decided to go for the arm and is a bit awkward to do myself. Didn't hurt, could feel it go in and come out but like a pin prick, not the sharp scratch of a medical needle.

Bought some probiotic gummies and electrolytes to take and now on here scouring the collagen recommendations.

I didn't need to sign for it - but it is a big box (defo not letter box job), and you (or somebody) might need to be there to take it in, as I'm not sure if Royal Mail will pop it somewhere safe. My ice was still about 60% ice frozen.

Don't stress too much - if they end up taking it to the depo for collection and your pen isn't cold when you get it - you have 30 days to use it. By my counting to take the 4 doses would be 22 days (so if your 1st dose was 1st September, 2nd on 8th, 3rd on 15th and 4th on the 22nd September - that's 22 days)

Same here with my mum, she's got really bad arthritis in her knees now and can hardly walk, I want to avoid that if possible.

So much for just an apple this morning, was unloading the shopping and snacked on a whole pack or quorn mini Scotch eggs, checked the wrapper and it's well over 500 cals (I don't usually calorie count was just a bit surprised)

Oh well that had better keep me going for a bit then! No change of a walk just now it is thundering and pouring with rain.

Gingerela · 20/09/2024 15:07

Hi. Can I join too.

I've been thinking about it for a while but finally bit the bullet and ordered from Medexpress yesterday. I've just got notification that it's being dispatched today so will be here tomorrow. I'm going to take the first dose on Sunday so fingers crossed. Starting weight is 104k at 5'2 so the heaviest I've ever been at 53. The combination of some poor health, lockdown and meno weight gain and my knees struggling to go upstairs was the last straw for me.

FelicityBeedle · 20/09/2024 15:10

@Bellyblueboy
If it’s been approved it may well come tomorrow, I’m sure I read if it’s ordered before 4pm it’s sent for a Saturday arrival.
That’s if it’s MedExpress

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 20/09/2024 16:14

Hi 👋

Ive been considering ordering MJ and this thread has given me the final push I needed. I’ve just ordered from MedExpress and it was £113 in total. I also went through topcashback 😅. Please pm me if you would like my referral code or I’ve put it on the discount code thread.

Im looking forward to hearing how everyone gets on. Good luck all!

It is Medexpress. Would be great to get it tomorrow, thanks for the info

Darkflames · 20/09/2024 16:27

I’m taking my second injection tomorrow.

I’ve lost a few lbs already which is a great start.
Not feeling the effects so much today so looking forward to my next dose.
I ordered from Medexpress and they were really quick.

ShiftAMountain · 20/09/2024 17:05

First dose just done. It was actually easy - except I pulled the needle out at a slight angle so it 'scratched' a bit. Won't do that again.

But then I sat down on the loo seat and cried for 30 seconds or so. Just the thought of 'Is this what it's come to? Me in the bathroom injecting myself because I won't stop eating?'. Which is just stupid because

a) so bloody what? I had shingles last year and happily took the meds for that. Why not this?

and

b) I would never ever talk to anyone else like that, or accept them talking to me like it. So why should I talk to myself like it.

So I've bucked myself up again and am now looking forward to see where this ride is going to take me...

Can I join ?
I'm on day 11...so week 2 of 2.5 mg.
I had BMI that just made 27 but I have a co morbidity that let me have it.
I am conscious I don't have as much to lose as some but would love to share experience.
I've lost 9 lbs in first 11 days
I had some nausea and bad headaches but those settled.
I haven't had constipation more loose stools.
And I literally don't want to eat...just can't be bothered...and best of all gone right of alcohol.
I was quite a big drinker...at least two generous g and t every night.

Theredjellybean · 20/09/2024 17:27

@ShiftAMountain ...I was very reluctant to start it... didn't think I deserved to, I have small amount to lose, I should get a grip by myself....you know what ...now I'm like "hallelujah"

MounjaroHereICome · 20/09/2024 17:28

@ShiftAMountain Congrats for starting! We're all in this together. Don't beat yourselves up - instead see it as we're actually trying to do the right thing for our bodies and health. That it's harder for us to do without help (Mounjaro) makes it a more courageous journey that we've chosen to take. Hoping for the best for all of us.Flowers

hopeishere · 20/09/2024 17:45

From the suppliers here do any give the option NOT to inform your GP?

ShiftAMountain · 20/09/2024 17:56

Thanks everyone. Flowers I know I was just being silly.

Anyway, onwards and downwards Grin

Medexpress and Asda both ask for GP details and you can't bypass it

ShiftAMountain · 20/09/2024 19:22

I don't know if this helps anyone but I found an app for my phone called Shotsy that allows you to input your shots and gives you an estimate of how much drug is left in your system in the coming days - might be useful for those (like me) wondering if I'll fell OK on X day? Here's my screenshot for today.

It's £8pm or £20py (more money!!) but it's free for the first 7 days to see.

It might not be for you, but I love data to much to resist it.

Hi all. My pens are arriving tomorrow. Will probably start then. I'm feeling so anxious about it and similar to the OP, just really sad it's come to this. I'm also currently breastfeeding (only once a day) my 14 month old - so I'm sad that will be coming to an end tomorrow as well. Just all seems a lot. My CW is 14.2 stone and I'm hoping to get to about 11 stone (my pre children weight). I'm also petrified of needles but had to have blood thinners after both my c sections so hoping I will be ok with this. I also had GD in my second pregnancy and had to finger prick myself multiple times a day- which I hated! Anyway thank you for this thread and hand holding through this. x
