Medexpress maintenance is over £200 a month. I'm not sure I'd be prepared to commit to that forever!

That's coz it's 15 for maintenance

Tho surely if being on it long term the body needs to veg used to less so wouid start going down 12.5 , 10 , 7.5 etx

MelainesLaugh · 12/09/2024 18:37

I’ve put on a lb this week. No idea how. Feeling a bit gutted. It’s an expensive hobby to be having if I’m not losing. So far I’ve only lost the first week

You've done 2 weeks ? Lost one and gained a lb on second is that right

MissFancyDay · 12/09/2024 19:35

@Blondeshavemorefun Zavamed prices are

2.5mg £139
5 mg £139
7.5 mg £169
10 mg £189
12.5 £204
15 mg £204

So very competative, but they cut you off at healthy BMI and I want the option to reduce the dose over a few months IF I need it.

MissFancyDay · 12/09/2024 19:36

At the moment i'm thinking about Ousk, or the Care pharmacy. But haven't decided yet.

ChunkyMunky · 12/09/2024 19:37

Woo, finally caught up with the thread. Been very busy in work so I’ve had less time for over-thinking about my wobbly waist.

I had dose 5 from my 2.5mg this morning, using a hard twist. The hard twist was harder than I expected, and I thought it wasn’t going to go at one point, but it did. I noticed a small bubble once I’d got it round to 1, so tapped and primed that out before injecting, so may have had very slightly under 2.5mg, but I’m happy to have had an extra week, given the price of these pens.

Suppression is suppressing nicely most of the time. Have had some occasional temptations but nothing awful, have found that I can actually have and enjoy just one or two haribo rather than inhaling a whole share bag. Definitely snacking a lot less and meal portions much smaller. Chocolate does not taste good anymore, it all tastes extra sweet and yuck.

I had been having cereal and a banana for breakfast, but have reduced the cereal and only having half a banana most days now. The dog is very happy with this new arrangement and is helpfully eating my spare half bananas.

All the weight seems to be coming off my legs so far, so some clothes look exactly the same as before, and others are starting to look a bit loose and saggy. I’m delaying any new purchases though as I’ve got a long way to go and don’t want to be buying new clothes every five minutes.

I’ve been taking marine collagen capsules each day. Not really sure if they’re doing much but I’m hoping they will reduce the risk of saggy skin.

Love the idea of mini-goals. Think I might set myself some to help keep the motivation going.

Well done everyone, onwards and downwards.

@Blondeshavemorefun practically identical prices, i'll investigate what they offer after healthy BMI options 😀

Pinkjenny · 12/09/2024 20:17

I'm confident I've not lost anything this week, nothing feels any looser and if anything I think I'm going to have put weight on. It is frustrating but I'm trying to remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint! If I have one crap week on the scales, it doesn't mean it's over and I'm giving up.

Pinkjenny · 12/09/2024 20:17

Whereas with every other diet, this is where I'd give up.

weaseleyes · 12/09/2024 20:21

I think as more people have been taking MJ long enough to need maintenance doses, we'll get more evidence of what sort of dose is appropriate and how often, and I expect providers will start offering a bit more variety. In my head, I feel like I'd want to have a small dose at intervals rather than taking a high dose all the time, but I don't have any supporting evidence to say this would work.

MelainesLaugh · 12/09/2024 20:30

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2024 19:03

Nope. Done three weeks. SW 16st 3. Now at 15st 11

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/09/2024 20:32

What was the 3rd week outcome

Sorry can't quote a quote on app

Zippitydoodaa · 12/09/2024 21:10

FlappingMadly · 12/09/2024 14:26

My 4th jab tomorrow and am going to try the hard twist. Am quite nervous about it!

I usually do the hard twist on the 'free" 5th dose . I say free, but its worth £30 on a 5mg pen. The 1st 4 will be the prescribed doses.

weaseleyes · 12/09/2024 21:15

I just had my first go at using the bonus dose, with a syringe. It was very easy! I got 0.8 which I think equals 3.3 mg, so a slightly higher dose. I shall be eagerly monitoring my response tomorrow. I do like playing scientists on myself :)

poppym12 · 12/09/2024 21:18

My week has been going ok until today and I'm starving with a raging headache. I took my 5th (bonus) 2.5 on Sunday and even though I used a syringe, I didn't get much extra out to the normal 0.6.

I think I'm going to bring my injection day forward to Saturday this week and hope there's no major side effects going from 2.5 to 5.

eeeeeeeee · 13/09/2024 07:00

I’ve mulled things over and decided to go for 7.5mg for my next pen. I have even ordered it!

I’m hopeful that I can reach my target weight by the end of the year and want to fully commit. I didn’t want to risk stalling and plateauing by remaining on a lower dose for longer. I’ve responded well to 2.5mg and 5mg but my losses are slowing down.

I’ve also booked some gym classes for tomorrow. I’m going to go for a walk or run later.

So far I haven’t noticed any major changes but my body composition stats are improving, less visceral fat, more muscle mass and less body fat. So that’s motivating me.

Princessandthepie · 13/09/2024 07:28

Injected my 2nd 5mg yesterday and weighed in this morning, no change still 14 stones and 5lbs which I've been since Saturday.

A bit annoying but no gains and I'm still 17lbs down over 41 days so that's still great.

I have walked more this week which is a positive but I didn't drink enough water on Wednesday as I spent a lot of time in the car and it caused quite bad constipation! 😱

Still feeling very tired though, almost glad it's hibernation season but I have so much to do that I'm feeling quite overwhelmed! 😬

AnnieMcFanny · 13/09/2024 07:30

God morning ☺️

I just had a weigh in and I’ve lost 0.8kgs this week and it’s taken me to a 3.4kg weight loss over a 5 injections time span. I’m happy and my personal trainer is also. He has qualifications in nutrition and is really helping me with what I’m doing.

Im going to weigh again on Wednesday morning before I set off to look after my dad who’s having surgery and that will then be it for 2 and a 1/2 weeks as I don’t want to use any scales other than my own.

Im happy. ❤️

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/09/2024 07:40

Humph. Sts. Slightly pissed off as been good all week and malteasergate is well and truly out of my system

And do feel hungry so eat 3 smalls meals a day

But then I'm told you are meant to do that

Portions are smaller. I rarely snack and If do usually fruit

I'm obv going to be one of the higher doses - sighs

1.1 diet So 13lbs on mj. So 2stone lost in all

I'm also going to order 7.5 @eeeeeeeee

You and I are similar

WitchDancer · 13/09/2024 07:50

I'll be ordering the 7.5 next time too. I'm struggling with the craving for things like chocolate puddings again, which really isn't good. Mind you I caved for one on Wednesday night and spent all yesterday with sulphur burbs, so I am put off slightly now if that's what it's going to do!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/09/2024 08:18

So weird how we suffer from diff things

I'm tiredness and nausea

And the Chinese made me sick last week 🥲

But no sulphate burps - they sound horrendous

Did get headaches in 2.5 but haven't on 5

So nice we all do this together and go up same time and can discuss things

Pinkjenny · 13/09/2024 09:06

Tomorrow is my last 2.5 injection. I'm going to move straight up to 5, I think, the pen is in the fridge.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/09/2024 10:21

I will order 7.5 tomorrow

As just looked on website and says if order today it could be here tomorrow

And I'm out tomorrow

From the cock up last month they tried to deliver sat. Missed me and as they don't deliver Sunday it didn't come till Monday after being sent Friday so was 72hrs and melted as was a very hot weekend

But med express did replace it free of charge

Where if I order sat it should come mon or Tue and I will be in

MissFancyDay · 13/09/2024 10:49

Weigh in and jab day

SW. 16st 12lbs
CW. 16st 4lbs

Same as last week. Who knows why, I have been doing more exercises this week and I'm quite constipated, why is it so hard to remember to drink water. I do actually weigh every day and I have been lower this week, so got to remember...long haul.

Well done everyone on their losses x

MargoLivebetter · 13/09/2024 10:50

Coming to the end of my 4th week on MJ. I've been injecting every 8 days as the appetite suppression has been so fierce. That means I did my 4th dose yesterday. The plunger adamantly refused to depress, so I had to get out my insulin syringe. Can't say I enjoyed it, but at least I know I can do it. Which is good because I'll be doing the bonus dose on holiday.

Mid week weigh in showed another 1lb off, so hoping for another 0.5lb by Sunday.

I'm using Gaviscon regularly to keep the heartburn under control and other than being a bit colder the first 48 hours post jab the other symptoms seem to have subsided. Definitely sticking with 2.5 otherwise I'd never be able to eat at all.

I'm finding my emotions harder to deal with as I'm not using food to soothe myself. This is clearly an opportunity to delve a bit into that shit and find other ways to cope and deal with stuff.

I continue to be amazed how we all react to it in different ways.
