Weigh in day for me, and after staying the same or a pound up all week, the scale goddess did indeed smile at me and I was a pound down. So that's 17lb in four weeks, which is great, though 10lb of that was in week 1. I would love to think I could lose 2-3lb a week but I suspect it will be more commonly 1-2lb or stay the same, so it's time for me to dig in. I'm one pound above my next stone marker so am desperate to lose two pounds next week, which will undoubtedly mean I plateau in typical weight loss contrariness!

Had slightly higher bonus dose last night and don't feel markedly different today, so will probably go straight to 5 next week unless I feel weird or very suppressed over the next couple of days. One inch off my bust, but hips remain stubbornly enormous in the face of my efforts.

Congrats to all losers and hang on in there to stay the samers!

MissFancyDay · 13/09/2024 12:03

Urgh!! I made a complete pig's ear of injecting today. I think I was one click short of the 1 and the plunger didn't go down when the needle was in. So I had to take it out, click on, and stick it in again. Consequently I now have a mass bruise where my first attempt was 😭

It usually goes so well!!

FlappingMadly · 13/09/2024 12:25

Jab 4 of 2.5 due today, which I’ll do this evening. I’ll do the bonus next week,
I’ve dropped another kg, and am so happy. I’ve got a lot to lose and am avoiding looking at the whole picture otherwise it will derail me.
So:
SW 110 kg
CW 106 kg

You have no idea what it took to share these figures publicly, I guess it’s ownership,

weaseleyes · 13/09/2024 12:35

Well done, @FlappingMadly - both for the loss and for sharing the numbers! I know how hard it is. Although I do talk broadly about what I weigh here, I find it difficult to put the numbers down so starkly too. I think it's years of shame and trying to mask it, myself, and the fact that I feel so defined by it. Here's hoping we both have greater acceptance for where we are now as well as optimism that we can reach a healthier place of lower numbers permanently.

FlappingMadly · 13/09/2024 12:51

Thank you @weaseleyes xx
We’ve all probably had micro hurts over the years.
Well now, it stops. It’s the start of a new life.
Though I don’t know how I’m going to act towards people who have judged me purely on size.

CremeDeSudo · 13/09/2024 13:28

Has anyone noticed any impact on anxiety?

I've been on setraline for years for stress/anxiety. This past year or so it's been coming back, but this past month I'm feeling like I'm constantly in various states of anxiousness.

I suspect it's perimenopause related, and I've had a lot of stressful stuff going on recently, so it could just be a coincidence, but wondered if anyone else had experienced anything similar?

CaptainWaffle · 13/09/2024 13:37

Hi everyone, thanks for this thread, it's amazing!

I am probably going up to 5mg next week but am concerned about side effects - I've been lucky with 2.5mg over the last four weeks and had almost no problems.
Has anyone taken their 5mg in 2 doses of 2.5 over a week (or so)? I know we need to leave 3 days between doses but I wondered if anyone had tried that? I've read threads on counting clicks etc to amend dosage so wondered if that was possible?

Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/09/2024 13:53

@MargoLivebetter very strange. But lucky you for such a low dose working

Seems the august 5 are struggling to lose weight this weight minus think @weaseleyes - and we will all be going to 7.5 !!

BrightGreenCrow · 13/09/2024 14:05

Hi all!
Hope everyone’s doing well!
I did my 4th 2.5mg on Monday and have my 5mg pen delivered and waiting!

Just a quick question to see if anyone else is having anything similar or has had. I’ve started running on the treadmill for half an hour, I’ve done it 3 times this week, just to help move things along a little as the past 2 weeks have not really had much effect on my appetite wise.
Anyhoo, on the days I’ve done this I literally crash a few hours later and am completely wiped out. Exhausted and sleepy.

I’m eating & drinking beforehand and as MJ’s not been doing much the last 2 weeks I’m definitely eating enough (probably too much).

Anyone else having this after exertion? Any tips or advice?

Thanks & Happy Friday 🥳

cosylife · 13/09/2024 14:52

@BrightGreenCrow me! I’ve been going for long power walks and pushing a pram whilst doing so and I’ve come back each time and I’m so tired that I could fall asleep standing up!

No advice apart from listen to your body and try to rest!

MargoLivebetter · 13/09/2024 15:19

It is very weird @Blondeshavemorefun and unexpected but there are a few of us floating around. I've posted on a thread where some are thinking of only doing a 1.25 dose. I guess there's more research to be done as people seem to need very different doses.

Zippitydoodaa · 13/09/2024 15:21

I had very good success on 2.5mg ,for 5 doses ,and was very worried about going up, so I have just went to 3.75 ( 45 clicks on pen ) for 4 weeks . It's still working so far .
I've lost 27lbs, till now .

Thank you for trusting us by sharing your figures. It is really difficult to do, I think we all understand that. It's almost like by writing it down and sharing numbers it's like making it too real Flowers

I'm on mirtazipane for anxiety and depression, but I've found pretty much the opposite in that I've felt a lot calmer since taking Mounjaro. Who knows why??

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this is what I've found when I've googled! When I took my first dose I remember feeling like really calm and content that evening. Hasn't happened since though. I'm sure it must be general life tbh

GoodLuckBabe · 13/09/2024 16:08

@CremeDeSudo i haven’t found that, however I noticed on the consultation form when you order from MedExprrss it does say that both weight loss and injectable weight loss treatments have been found to be associated with a lowering of mood and you should speak to a dr if that happens. So maybe there is a correlation for some people?

NippyCrab · 13/09/2024 16:39

@CremeDeSudo hey, yes I've noticed low mood and I was doing great on my Sertraline and Quetiapine. I would say more anxious and stressed than low but i have felt a bit overwhelmed with a few things and been reactive which is what I was like before. Strangely I was also calm the first 2.5 weeks and then the last couple ive been the opposite. I was supposed to call Oushk to speak to a prescriber on Wednesday but things happened and now it's Friday. I feel okay today, I'll see what I'm like when my husband goes back to work.

FlappingMadly · 13/09/2024 16:45

I wonder if when you take action to change your life that with clarity of choice comes other thoughts to the fore. Generally our weight gain is intertwined with life events, loss, break down of relationship, stress of job, finances etc etc so surely quite natural to feel unsettled at times.

Can I ask what you weigh

Was wondering if makes a diff if only need to lose say 2stone v 4/5s v 8/9s

CremeDeSudo · 13/09/2024 17:37

It's definitely more anxiety than low mood, although it is getting me down being anxious all the time! Going to do some research.

MargoLivebetter · 13/09/2024 17:48

@Blondeshavemorefun, BMI was just under 30. I have osteoarthritis, so Voy were ok with it. Interesting thought that starting weight or BMI may have something to do with the appetite suppression.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/09/2024 17:57

Ah. Mine was almost 37

😳😳

So you prob have less to lose than me

Wonder if that makes a diff

AnnieMcFanny · 13/09/2024 18:15

@WitchDancer my SW was 109 and my current weight is 105.6kgs. I’m 5’8” tall.

JoyousSwan · 13/09/2024 18:15

I saw 17st 0lb today! Starting weight 18st 6.5lb! Had a spring in my step all day!
All that fretting about eating out last weekend think it must have helped with a bit of a whoosh!

My BMI when I started was 31. I've needed to go up to 15mg. I could be the outlier obviously and the three of us aren't a large sample but it might not be based on size when starting.
