I know. DH is the same. He was very understanding for the first 3 weeks........

Pinkjenny · 25/09/2024 18:05

Will it never end?!!

SilverSprings510 · 25/09/2024 18:08

Fab @Pinkjenny! Well done you! I think sometimes the NSVs are more satisfying than the numbers on the scale!

I really don't know? I read of some women who hadn't had a period for years, then started MJ and suddenly were having light bleeds lasting weeks!

Still, at least we'll be slim 😆

owlyboo · 25/09/2024 18:33

Well done @Pinkjenny! Great feeling.

@Arraminta I didn't have a period for years as I have the coil (and had one before this one) randomly bled for a week or so during my first month on 2.5... nothing so far this month on 5mg so we shall see.

Hope yours buggers off soon!

poppym12 · 25/09/2024 18:38

Periods starting up again Shock. I'm a few years post menopause now and I really hope I don't start again. I'm knackered enough as it is with other health problems! I did have one bleed a couple of years ago and had to have a hysteroscopy. Never again. Never ever ever - unless I'm under GA. Are you ladies experiencing bleeding having it investigated?

Pinkjenny · 25/09/2024 18:49

@poppym12 No, my periods are all over the place and it's not unusual for me to have heavy bleeding. It's just the length of time this has been going on for now that is slightly odd. Although again, it has happened before, so I'm not overly worried about it at this stage. It's just getting on my nerves.

ChunkyMunky · 25/09/2024 19:27

My period is due in a few days, I had a normal length one on 2.5mg, so hoping this one is normal too. What I have noticed though is that my strong pre-period mood swings are back. Yesterday and today I’ve been unreasonably, inexplicably, annoyed. Verging on absolutely furious over basically nothing. I have had this before, so thankfully I know to bite my tongue and not take it out on the rest of the house, but it’s frustrating that the feeling has returned after a good year or so.

After lamenting yesterday about how little I had managed to eat, today it is like someone has flicked a switch. I’ve been grazing and nibbling throughout the day. Just about within calories, but it’s taken willpower and concentration, and the chocolate and gin is calling to me this evening. I wonder if that’s period related too?

Quick NSV if I may! I'm going to the office tomorrow, and I've just tried on a couple of suits that I bought about 4 years ago, still with the tags on, have never fit me!

I'll be wearing one of them tomorrow!

Amazing @Pinkjenny - fab NSV

Willowy1982 · 25/09/2024 19:43

Hello everyone. I've just done my first 5mg dose and hope I don't regret it. I've been really lucky with side effects so far but I have felt the suppression wearing off and the food noise returning so decided to take the plunge to 5mg. I've lost a stone so far in 5 weeks which is incredible but I expect it to slow down somewhat now. I've been reading the thread and a mic of ups and downs for everyone. Sorry to anyone who has been struggling. Hope everyone is doing OK out there!

Wingingit11 · 25/09/2024 19:58

I’ve started thread 5 as this is about to be full !

@ChunkyMunky this is me too along with low mood urgh! I'm thankful I don't have the period issues like poor @Arraminta and @Pinkjenny 💐 luckily I am taking continuous progesterone,
Congratulations on your suit getting shown off tomorrow too.

Arraminta · 25/09/2024 21:02

Can I ask for a collective hand hold. It's my official weigh day + 3rd 5mg jab tmrw, and 6 weeks on MJ. I'm only 1lb off losing a stone, so really hoping the scales move tomorrow, please?

Is a stone in 6 weeks fairly standard if you only want to lose about 3 stones in total?

MelainesLaugh · 25/09/2024 21:10

I am really celebrating tonight!!

My first dose of MJ was on 21st August, and I’ve finally broken through the 1 stone lost. Admittedly it’s all off of my boobs and bum so far and not my stomach, but it feels so good. Only a few more lbs and I will be in the 14 stone bracket, somewhere I haven’t been since February 2023, and that was only briefly.

SW 16st 4lb
CW 15st 2lb

4 weeks of 2.5mg and 2 weeks of 5mg.

Side effects are I’ve been having breakthrough bleeding even though I haven’t had any periods since I started the mini pill. Also I can play a trumpet with my farts!

I think that sounds like a great loss. I've lost 13 pounds in 4 weeks and (22lbs altogether with my losses before MJ) I had around 4 stone to lose when I started MJ so more than you.

I'm not having huge 7lb losses but didn't expect to. I would work out on average how much you've lost a week and look at the long term if you continued to lose at that weight how far away from target would you by Xmas. I've looked at a 2lb loss per week (less than I've currently been losing but understand it will slow!) and if I could average that by Xmas I would only be a stone away from target. I would be over the moon with that. Might be worth you looking to see how 'close' you are with the great losses you've had!

I shall keep all my toes and fingers crossed for your pound tomorrow!!

owlyboo · 25/09/2024 21:17

Well done @MelainesLaugh brilliant!

ChunkyMunky · 25/09/2024 22:17

@Arraminta I’d say getting 33% of the way to your target weight in 6 weeks is excellent, well done.

Arraminta · 25/09/2024 22:49

Thank you for the good wishes. Will let you know the news in the morning.

Princessandthepie · 26/09/2024 07:52

Another 2lbs off for me this week. Have weighed after a few days of not weighing so it was a lovely surprise.

SW 15 stones 8lbs
CW 14 stones

22lb off in 7 and a half weeks.

Next goal is 13 stones 7lbs, so doing as I'm doing, calorie counting, getting the protein in and focus on getting my steps up.

Finally had my first consultation with Voy after all this time as I had to cancel the first one. It went well, lady on the phone was very supportive. My 7.5mg pen has been approved and delivered but I'm going to do the 5mg bonus dose next week first then move up.

Happy Thursday!

Arraminta · 26/09/2024 09:13

Bugger. Haven't lost a single ounce. Still 0.5lbs shy of losing a stone. Onwards and upwards!

@Arraminta and @Blondeshavemorefun i’ll join you in Plateaushitsville. I had a brief jaunt yesterday being 20g down meaning 5kg lost on MJ but am up there again, sigh. I feel good, peri menopause brain fog is gone and I have loads of energy, got my mo Jo back but no sodding change on the scales.
