Hi. Have been quiet but following along with interest. I'm just finishing my 4th week on 2.5mg and have lost 10lbs which I'm thrilled with. I'm now happily wearing jeans which were uncomfortably tight a month ago. Tummy much flatter, jawline looks sharper and a couple of friends have noticed.

Nervous about moving up to 5mg tomorrow as I've been lucky to have zero side effects so far. Does everyone get the side effects when they increase dosage?

Not everyone gets the side effects, or it could be just minimal. I get cold, but then where I stay has just given up on summer 😂

WitchDancer · 11/09/2024 19:30

@Willowy1982 @NippyCrab isn't it weird how different weather affects us all? I can't stand to be cold and am in real trouble if I do get chilly. My best friend in the cold weather is my hot water bottle!

I will say I have felt more able to mobilise recently. I usually use crutches or my mobility scooter and haven't felt the need for either recently.

I have ice baths in my garden in the winter 🫢🥶 And also do cold water swimming! I love the cold. Not being able to get properly cold all summer has been horrible!

NippyCrab · 11/09/2024 19:13

The weather changing is already increasing my pain urgh, and the wind on my skin. My first 4 weeks I felt great but the last week and a half I've felt rubbish, as if I'm heading for a Fibro or ME flare. @Willowy1982 I want some of what you have 🤣 x

I'm not sharing, sorry, it's all mine 🫢🤪😅

I had a look at Nutracheck and I would be a BMI of 24.7 I've got it in my head that 10.7 is my goal or I have failed. I'll need to get right out that mindset 💯

Yeah, I don't think 10.7 on me would look good now. 25 years ago, it would have looked bloody fantastic but I think I just need to be more realistic with what is actually achievable and more importantly, maintainable, as I won't be injecting forever!

I'm freezing at the moment, and I've been running hot for ages but now I really feel the cold since starting MJ! 🥶

WitchDancer · 11/09/2024 20:00

@Willowy1982 I may have actually shuddered at the thought of ice baths! Nope, definitely not!!!

Zippitydoodaa · 11/09/2024 20:03

I'm hoping to get to 12st, but
11 -8 /10 would be amazing . I'm a bit older and don't want to look like an old wrinkly.
I've actually been moisturising with the " anti - wrinkle " to try and help ,at least my face ,from looking to bad .

Zippitydoodaa · 11/09/2024 20:23

Arraminta
I too was worried about going up to 5mg, so I've done a couple of weeks at 3.75 mg and suppresion is still working .

Oh my god! 😂

I actually pay to have an ice bath every month at a kind of rehabilitation gym for athletes and daft people who do themselves an injury in the gym. Not that I need them really but I just love the cold and I have to say it does seem to have a positive effect on the inflammation I have in my body.

i love cold weather and my best outdoor swim was in Lake Constance in Germany where the water was glacier and about 12 degrees.

How I’ve managed to live happily in the scorching Middle East for 47 years is beyond me.

Yes, they say you have to chose between your face and your figure as you get older, and i'm sure that my mother will lose no time in telling me that i'm looking haggard (telling it like it is, thanks Mum!!). I still want to be slim though.

I have just ordered some collagen powder to put in coffee. it's supposed to be effective on elasticity and suppleness of the skin, so fingers crossed.

MissFancyDay · 11/09/2024 21:07

This Mounjaro malarky is costing me a fortune on extras like supplements, but there is a noticeable reduction in food cost.

NippyCrab · 11/09/2024 21:10

I have a Fibro friend who cold water swims and she swears by it for her pain, I'm to much of a fearty to try it. Any whiff of a cold wind and my skin is flipping sore 🙄
I hear you with the hot water bottle, and interestingly enough I actually haven't used my sticks. My back is crunching but that's because I cut the grass!
I feel invincible when it's sunny, my body loves the warmer weather. X

NippyCrab · 11/09/2024 21:12

@MissFancyDay I agree, I want it all though 🤣 but I don't want to look like an old prune face. What brand of collagen powder did you go for? I like the sachets of liquid but they are expensive so I haven't had them for a while. X

MissFancyDay · 11/09/2024 21:34

@NippyCrab I was very bad and bought an expensive one because liked the brand, it was
Ancient and Brave True Collagen. Hopefully it works.

NippyCrab · 11/09/2024 21:57

I'll go and have a look, if it works cost doesn't matter that's what I tell my husband anyway 😂 x

MissFancyDay · 11/09/2024 22:36

Yes, I'm funny about what I spend my money on. I'm like the person who opens the wardrobe and there is a row of identical suits, I just can't be bothered with clothes, probably because I don't feel I look nice.

But a posh jar of collagen, yes that gets me excited 😂

Timetochange24 · 12/09/2024 00:17

Brrrr maybe it's all this talk of ice baths but I'm lying awake shivering. Can't remember the last time I was this cold!! Usually it's overheating that's the problem at night 🤣

Wingingit11 · 12/09/2024 03:34

@NippyCrab the wellguard one is good and dissolves and much cheaper

The talk of people saying they feel cold made me realise I’ve been switching the air conditioning on and off for the last few days because I’m cold. I thought perhaps the weather was cooling down but it’s not, it’s in fact been hotter. Then I thought it’s because I’ve had a cold but I realise now it must be the Mounjaro.

Does anyone else get a random metallic taste on the tip of the front third of their tongue throughout the day?

Oh and yesterday I bent down in a shop to pick up something I’d dropped and immediately got acid reflux. I had to go across to the pharmacy and buy Rennies.

Not that I’m complaining. I think this is one the best thing I ever done for myself.

AnnieMcFanny · 12/09/2024 04:45

@Timetochange24 those night sweat are awful and I hope they don’t last too much longer for you.

Timetochange24 · 12/09/2024 06:09

@AnnieMcFanny I'm hoping that as my weightloss continues I'll generally cool down. I don't know whether to blame them on my age or my weight! (Probably both)

FlappingMadly · 12/09/2024 06:26

I also have Ancient & Brave collagen The wild one. I’ve been taking it for a while and think it’s good. Considering adding the creatine and am interested in the MCT oil too.
It’s going to take a crane to hold up my face 🤣 but every little helps.

eeeeeeeee · 12/09/2024 06:39

I’m on week 2 of 5mg and it’s been exactly what I was hoping for so far. No side effects and good appetite suppression. I felt in control of my appetite even on the days before I was due to jab. Good experience.

Generally it’s my 6th week of MJ and I’m definitely spending a lot less on food… I’m also wasting a lot of food. I’m struggling to find the balance in a grocery shop as I can’t eat it all fast enough.

A bunch of stuff expired in my fridge, including a Parmesan garlic bread. Even though I’ve cleaned my fridge out and wiped it down, I can still smell this horrid gone off cheese smell😷

eeeeeeeee · 12/09/2024 06:44

Also I’ve lost 8kg total. I’m back to the same I weighed a year ago today, so I’ve managed to get rid of my weight gain over the last year.

I’m still not seeing much of a difference but others have noticed.

cosylife · 12/09/2024 08:28

My husband has noticed a change he says I look more ‘streamlined’ 😂 and is all over me. Won’t stop flirting haha an added benefit to weight loss I suppose is that my sex drive is improving as well!

Im stuck at 15stone 1 this week so far - official weigh day is Saturday so fingers crossed a couple of lbs can whoosh off before!
