That's still 10lbs a month

You're right, I think I'm just a bit frustrated at being "stuck"

SilverSprings510 · 10/09/2024 22:32

My dreams of starting couch to 5k this week have been dashed - I’ve bloody injured myself at work so my ankle is out of commission 🤦🏻‍♀️ weigh/jab day tomorrow so hoping for a good loss to cheer me up 😂

LastTimeLosingIt · 10/09/2024 22:40

Constipation is also my main side effect. Am taking psyllium husk but I need to increase my fruit and veg. I feel that I would lose half a stone instantly just by clearing the backlog!

Choux · 10/09/2024 23:04

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2024 20:59

That was similar to me @Pinkjenny and hence malteasergate happened

And why I tech skipped dose 4 of 2.5 as wasn't sure dose 3 worked properly as pen jammed so had another 2.5 4 days later

Then went to 5

I have a feeling I may be a 7.5/10 to not feel hungry at all

Or are we meant to feel a little hungry and obv eat as I do eat 3 meals a day - do you know @Choux as further long

It's early days for you @Pinkjenny. 2.5mg isn't a strong dose so might not suppress your appetite much.

I am now on 15mg and feel differently each day. I took my dose last Weds and spent part of the weekend thinking it was too strong as I could eat but wasn't getting hungry at mealtimes. And the goal is to still be hungry but able to be satisfied with smaller portions and make good choices. Today was day 6 and I had coffee for breakfast as usual. At 11.50 I was hungry so got my lunch - veg soup and some croutons. After I ate it I was sooo full I felt uncomfortable for an hour or so. It was about 350 calories max. Then at 4pm I was so hungry and a little light headed. I had a small pack of peanut m and Ms. (At work limited snack options)

The snack meant I wasn't overly hungry when I made my dinner - pork and fish with salad. But it was a decent size salad with double protein. I ate half then small break before grazing on the rest. I am prob at 1,200 calories now and am thinking about either a protein yoghurt or miso soup. Not sure if I am hungry or bored. I think bored so will have the miso soup which is only about 30 calories but still tasty.

I'll probably lose 2-2.5lbs this week - it bounces up and down with slightly bigger drops than gains. Tomorrow night I will do another 15mg and then spend two or three days thinking it's too strong again. Losing 2.5lbs in a week when I am less than a stone from goal probably is too much but I will try one more dose of 15 as I have quickly got used to every other dose so might not have such strong effects next week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2024 23:08

So we are meant to feel hungry @Choux

Remind me again how much you have lost - and think since June and you want to lose another stone. Is that right

I have lost 2st 7lbs in six months. Starting weight was 13st 6lbs.

If you take a dose that totally kills your appetite you won't learn about making good food choices, recognizing true hunger from boredom, knowing what size portion you need and recognizing the sign that you have had enough food (I won't say 'full' as we don't need to end each meal by feeling 'full', we need to feel that we have had enough to satisfy the hunger.

Similarly those that only have a tiny appetite because the suppression is very strong and then fill that tiny appetite with eg a slice of buttered toast for breakfast, 2 slices of pizza for lunch, treat size mars bar and then small lasagne portion for dinner will probably lose weight because each portion is tiny but aren't changing the habits that got them overweight in the first place.

Evening snacking was my downfall. I could eat 1,000 calories of crisps and chocolate in one evening. And do that two or three evenings a week. Now my snacks of choice are miso soup and protein yoghurts!

AnnieMcFanny · 11/09/2024 06:00

@FlappingMadly I understand what you’re saying about fibre but it’s not something I’m going without. I eat plenty of it due to my rectocele which was caused by a 5kg baby and worsened by the huge surgery I had for my ovarian cancer.

AnnieMcFanny · 11/09/2024 06:03

So we are meant to feel hungry

yes. It’s a perfectly normal thing to feel and that’s what we have to get use to for when we are no longer using the pen and we’re going it alone.

lmmj15 · 11/09/2024 06:54

Weigh in day

SW 102.8kg
CW 98kg

so happy with those results in two weeks. Hope week 3 is as good 🤞🏼

FlappingMadly · 11/09/2024 06:58

@AnnieMcFanny wow! 💐And a 5kg baby! 🦔🍍💪💪💪 I am in awe.
Are you having treatment at the moment?

Ithinkimrincewind · 11/09/2024 07:12

So I lost quite a bit on 2.5, carefully calorie counting, minimal side effects.
SW 84.6
CW 74.5
Started 5 and feeling like I want to eat much more and not even a lb loss this week. Anyone else? I know it's still not a gain and even if I eat more it's still healthier choices but I thought on 5 it would be more.

SilverSprings510 · 11/09/2024 07:22

Last dose of 2.5 today. Skipping the bonus and going straight to 5 next week.
Week 1: -7lbs
Week 2: -5lbs
Week 3: -3lbs
Total: -1st 1lb. I do have a lot to lose though.

MelainesLaugh · 11/09/2024 07:23

Injection 4 due today and I’m starving. Yesterday I ate fat too much and today I’ve already had biscuits and chocolate.

Im dreading weighing myself

FlappingMadly · 11/09/2024 07:49

@lmmj15 and @SilverSprings510 whoop!
And @SilverSprings510 you’re more than a stone off your lot to lose. Fantastic!

cosylife · 11/09/2024 08:11

Great losses and NSVs everyone!

I just did a cheeky mid week weigh in and I’m still the same as Saturday (my weigh day) which I expected as I’ve been doing more exercise this week.

I saw another thread where people were saying what weight they’re aiming for at Xmas. It got me thinking that this is the first time I feel confident enough to actually achieve a goal weight that has a set date more than a month ahead!

Ive set myself monthly goals with a big overall target weight loss. How are you all doing it? Big goals, lots of little ones or just by how you feel/look in the mirror?

Cleverchops · 11/09/2024 08:13

Morning just checking in! Have come to a bit of a standstill but hoping some more weight will come off soon.. have been good with my choices and will up to 5 dose as am on week 2 of second 2.5 dose and the food noise is starting to creep back.
Great to hear about everyone’s losses! We are doing great 😊

Pinkjenny · 11/09/2024 08:48

I have a goal, but I'm not sure it's the end goal. I'm going to see how I feel when I get there because at that weight I'm still a stone off a healthy BMI.

Edited

My goals are:

  • First stone
  • BMI below 32
  • weight under 80kg
  • Second stone/BMI out of the obese range (hoping I'll get there by my birthday)

After that I'll still have 2 stone to lose to reach a healthy weight but I'm going to see how quickly the weight is coming off after that and whether they need to be mini milestones to keep me motivated.

Best case scenario I could be done by Christmas but that would need an average of 3lb off a week so I'm not counting on that yet.

Timetochange24 · 11/09/2024 09:07

Just thinking outloud about the far end of this journey... Do you plan on continuing with MJ until you're right at your target weight or is there any benefit of going it alone for the last few pounds? It wouldn't be prescribed for someone with a BMI of 26, which is what's got me wondering.

Also compounded by me realising that, following a healthy weightloss trajectory, I could be at this point at Christmas which seems like a natural end point. But I don't want to stop too soon and never lose that last half stone.

(Sorry, I'm a planner with a tendency to procrastinate over every possible scenario!)

MabelSpan · 11/09/2024 09:25

I have got a few goals.

1st - get below 18st 12lbs which is where I was last year, so need to drop another 7lbs to reach that.
2nd - to get below 15st 5lbs, where I was 10 years ago. I would love to get there by March 2025.
3rd and final goal is to get to 12st. That gives me a bmi of 25 and is where I was 25 years ago.
I intend to meet this final goal by 31st October 2025 and see no reason for coming off MJ before reaching my ultimate goal.

That is the plan anyway!😊🙏

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/09/2024 09:28

Well done @Choux and glad meant to feel hungry and choose good options

As I do feel hungry tho maybe later then usual lunch time if hasn't eaten as such

But so many say that they aren't hungry /struggle to eat I wasn't sure if was working properly for me

FlappingMadly · 11/09/2024 09:47

My real goal is to wear clothes I love and not ones that I need to.
And second goal is to up my cardio.
I have a goal to be at or under 100kg by the end of September. I’ve only lost 3kg in nearly 4 weeks so don’t know if 7kg is feasible, but I’m going for it!

Pinkjenny · 11/09/2024 10:17

I'd like to lose two stone from here, that takes me to 12 stone, then I'll see how I feel. BMI is currently at 32.6, would love to get out of that obese range.

Excitingly, there has been some movement I in the toilet department this morning as well. I'm starting to wonder whether I shot the liquid at the wall by mistake this week!

Wingingit11 · 11/09/2024 11:23

@Timetochange24 some pharmacies will prescribe for maintenance - oushk have a couple of maintenance packages

ive gone up from 3.75 to 4 today 😅

/ominous voice - my trousers are getting looser.

Ominous I guess because I only bought them in Spring of this year and really like them - still, that's where a belt comes in, and I'll be unintentionally wearing this seasons' fashionably big trousers.
