I hear what you're saying about fibre intake @FlappingMadly but I'm stumped at the moment.

I've got IBS and usually go too often so this is the polar opposite. I eat a LOT of fruit and veg, always have as I've been vegetarian for over 30 years but I'm struggling with other types of fibre. I'm intolerant to oats and flaxseed although I have tried both to see if it would get things moving. It resulted in overflow and didn't move the constipation. Very unpleasant.

I do have some dark ryvita so I'll eat a couple later. I'm just not fancying bread or pasta at the moment so can't switch to wholegrain. Bran flakes didn't work and today I've eaten a couple of dried figs, hoping they'd be less unpleasant than prunes - barely!

I must be missing something but I'm not sure what.

FlappingMadly · 10/09/2024 18:33

@poppym12 I suppose you’ve been tested for other intolerances and had your vit D checked?

Pinkjenny · 10/09/2024 18:46

Bran flakes is a good shout, I love bran flakes .

What about aloe Vera tablets?

poppym12 · 10/09/2024 19:14

I've had a number of tests over the years @FlappingMadly and some intolerances were noted. Maybe now is a good time to get tested again. I'm trying to fathom out why I used to go so often before Mounjaro but it's swung totally the other way and the main difference is much less bread. Oh, and chocolate! My actual diet hasn't changed much, I'm just eating less of it.

poppym12 · 10/09/2024 19:16

I've never heard of using aloe vera for constipation @CremeDeSudo, I'll order some.

Katkins17 · 10/09/2024 19:19

Hi lovely people.

I'm 3.5 weeks in and delighted with my weight loss so far.

Going up to the next level on Friday....did anyone have next to no side effects on 2.5 ( apart from some constipation and tiredness) but find they did with 5?...

Timetochange24 · 10/09/2024 19:40

I've noticed a slow down but not to the extent of needing to take supplements. Porridge or yogurt for breakfast. A big plate of roasted veg was a good one (peppers and onions always have that effect). Wholemeal sourdough with avocado for lunch quite often. We always have a big pile of veg with our dinner and I'm trying to up the ratio of veg to other stuff.

I drink kombucha a few days a week too and definitely notice a difference after that, but it's made with sugar so it's a bit of a compromise.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2024 19:43

Tbh no side effects with 5

Yes I'm a bit tired but often am. It not the tiredness I had with 2.5

eeeeeeeee · 10/09/2024 20:00

Hi everyone 🙂

HamAlive · 10/09/2024 20:31

Great NSV @Blondeshavemorefun !

5mg has been weird for me. Injected Friday, went out for a meal Saturday evening and didn't feel much suppression but didn't go mad. Tried to have a couple of alcoholic drinks but couldn't fit them in and felt rough, same the next day. Then went for a late lunch, had no breakfast but could barely eat at all and felt full and rubbish all day.

Now I'm not hungry or can't face any foods I think about eating. I've been feeling I'm getting a cold but nothing is appearing, not sure if it's related to the MJ. And my period is due. So just generally feeling crappy this week!

Pinkjenny · 10/09/2024 20:48

I've just eaten a far too big portion of bolognese. Although I'm not snacking, the feeling of fullness hasn't been there as much for me this week. Week 3 of 2.5, panicking a bit now.

eeeeeeeee · 10/09/2024 20:59

I have been on 5mg for almost a week now, I don’t think I have had any side effects. It’s hard to say as I came down with a virus at the same time. However I injected on Thursday and today is the first day that I felt hunger, after a week of not being able to eat much due to illness. The appetite suppression has been good, and I don’t feel likely to overeat now I’m close to jab day.

In comparison to 2.5mg:

  • in week 3, my appetite suppression faded quickly and severely to the extent I polished biscuits and chocolate
  • in week 4, my appetite suppression was incredibly strong the entire week

So overall, 5mg has been consistent with appetite suppression and there wasn’t an obvious change from 2.5mg

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2024 20:59

That was similar to me @Pinkjenny and hence malteasergate happened

And why I tech skipped dose 4 of 2.5 as wasn't sure dose 3 worked properly as pen jammed so had another 2.5 4 days later

Then went to 5

I have a feeling I may be a 7.5/10 to not feel hungry at all

Or are we meant to feel a little hungry and obv eat as I do eat 3 meals a day - do you know @Choux as further long

weaseleyes · 10/09/2024 21:43

I’ll be at the end of week 4 on Thursday and I’ve definitely been feeling a bit more hungry. So far no terrible slips apart from too many olives yesterday and a rather unjustifiable two cans of beer tonight (I seldom drink). I’m looking forward to my bonus dose and hoping it’s at least a little above 2.5. It’s been a very down and up week in terms of appetite. I feel safer with down

Snoopsteandcooper · 10/09/2024 21:46

I'm becoming really disheartened. I started on the 1st week of August at 14 st 6. I dropped 8lbs in the first week, water weight I assume. I've now done 4 x 2.5mg, 1 x 3.75mg and just moved up to 5mg. I've only lost another 2lbs since the first week. I'm drinking plenty water, eating enough protein and veg, sticking to around 1100 calories a day and nothing! I actually felt I was losing more easily without MJ, bizarrely.

weaseleyes · 10/09/2024 21:50

That sounds a bit odd @Snoopsteandcooper, but I don’t think MJ can actually prevent you losing, so maybe you’re just adjusting and might get results in a week or two?

WitchDancer · 10/09/2024 22:02

@Azuresky68 if you swipe left on the post you want to bookmark, it should give you the option there. You can quote from there too.

FlappingMadly · 10/09/2024 22:04

@Snoopsteandcooper did you adjust your calorie intake to new weight? Have you measured yourself and seen changes? 1100 seems quite low. Try increasing slightly for a day or two and see what happens. Hang on in there! A whoosh is coming your way.

WitchDancer · 10/09/2024 22:08

Thinking about those with constipation that can't stomach prunes, do you think dried apricots would work? I know in the past when I've eaten too many it's given me the runs, so it's logical that it would give the desired effect...

weaseleyes · 10/09/2024 22:10

I’ve felt a bit constipated but no worse than I usually get when I diet. I have to cut out bread to lose weight - and not over eat it - but my bowels miss it!

That's still 10lbs a month

Snoopsteandcooper · 10/09/2024 22:13

Thanks @weaseleyes and @FlappingMadly. I haven't adjusted calories and I haven't measured myself, I will check both these things. I seem to be losing weight off my face but my tummy is still big. Hopefully the 5mg will start working soon.
