@Glittermoonlight @Blondeshavemorefun I think I am in a similar place..lost quite well on 2.5 mg for 4 weeks with no side effects, then took my first 5 mg last week and felt a bit sick the day after. Not finding it as easy as when I was on 2 5 (I managed to lose when on a 2 week holiday) I was planning to move up to 7 5 next pen but got a bit derailed by so many people saying they had lost really well on 2 5 and didn't move up. I know only I can decide, but it would be interesting to hear from people who started around the same time as me - coming to the end of week 5.
My other issue is that I am obsessed with weighing, but for me, I think I am better weighing only once a week. I have my scales in the bathroom, and every time I go in there, I get on scales. Think I will just have to move them out of the bathroom to a less accessible place. Wishing everyone all the very best.

I weigh once a week same
Time am after a wee - as know weight goes up and down so I don t see the point in wow ive lost a lb or awww I gained a lb till weigh day

I did lose on 2.5 but like most it was prob water as was 9lbs first week then think a 2 then 1

Been 13 in 7w

This Fri is my last 5 so 2mths

Lost 2 on 5mg so far which is slow /annoying and costly £70 per lb !!!

I am hungry for meals so eat 3 a day but eating protein and healthy stuff and generally not snacking so I should lose and haven't

Hoping 7.5 will be the magic one

It's is just so weird and I say this often so sorry if Boring - but weird how is so diff for everyone.

Be interesting to see results of diff starting weights

This who need to lose 3/4s to 4/5/6 or 7+ and if more weight to lose means less symptoms

Or if really makes no diff

How some feel awful and cramps and bad poos v someone like me who did have headaches and nausea to begin with on 2.5 - reminded me of when I was preg and hg but nothing else

To now feeling nothing really but a wee every 2hrs usually Fri sat sun at night the first 3 nights after jabbing

I'm hoping Fri I would have lost a lb as this plates can't last any longer as really fucking me off !!!!

@Blondeshavemorefun Which week are you on now? My 2nd 5mg jab is due Friday. I’m looking forward to going up to 7.5! Crossing fingers that will be the magic dose for me!!

I’ve been looking at the research more on MJ and it does seem a lot of people respond better on the higher doses, and they were looking at people over many months, so I guess I’m just impatient for quick results! I do know this is going to take months, not days, so I need to change my mindset! I think I’ve got a bit obsessed about MJ the last few weeks. I definitely am in it for the long haul.
Unfortunately I now know disappointingly!! that I’m not one of the MJ super responders!! Oh well!!

@Blondeshavemorefun Just a thought, but are you weighing all your food and counting all calories including drinks and anything you add to them such as protein powders, milk etc? I was shocked to discover that I have about 200cals in just my drinks, and thats only tea and coffee.

There is another thread on here for slow losers, which I find helpful as not everyone has huge weight losses. I have lost 8 pounds in my first 5 weeks, but I think it will slow down. Let's hope 7.5 works for us! Don't give up. I have accepted that a reasonable weight loss is between 1/2 pounds, depending on how much you have to lose. I have done SW (and everything else as well) but come to conclusion that weighing everything and calorie tracking is the only way I can lose because I can only lose weight on 1000 calories 5 days a week and around 1200 2 days a week...it's so hard but MJ helps. I would have given up by now. Using My Fitness Pal and most food is on there. If I make food from scratch, you can create your own recipes. I never reached my goal with SW, but I did reach it in 2020 by calorie tracking and eating healthy. Still really hard, as we all know!

Your case is very mysterious, @Blondeshavemorefun. I can't see any way that MJ could actively prevent you from losing weight, so you must just be having a longish plateau, but it must be very frustrating - particularly with the cost and excess weeing.

Blondes have you tried reducing your carb intake? What you described as typical meals was fairly carb heavy, I struggle to lose weight if I don't restrict my carb intake a bit. You don't necessarily need to go properly low carb but trying to shift away a bit might help

@Blondeshavemorefun If I were you I would add a lot more veg, cut back the carbs, swap the micro meal for a home cooked tea, and weigh and log absolutely everything that passes your lips! Its not hard to do once you get into the swing of it and it really opens your eyes to the nutritional value of what you are fuelling your body with.

Weigh in for me today -5lbs. Obvs have been unwell so that’s accelerated the loss a bit. Also had 2nd jab of 5.

Weigh-ins: -7, -5, -3, -2, -5
Total: -1st 8lbs.

I've done 3 x 2.5, 1 x 3.75 (transitioning with some of the spare dose) then another 3.75 out of my 5mg pen as I unexpectedly had an interview and didn't want to be dealing with higher dose side effects.

Good suppression and minimal side effects on 2.5, huge suppression and some (manageable) nausea on 3.75. I'm down 16 lb in a calendar month which feels more than fast enough tbh and verging on unhealthy. I forgot lunch and had to force down some dinner yesterday, couldn't finish my small bowl of porridge this morning. Unless the 5mg suppression wears off on later doses, I'm going to stick with 5mg next time as I don't want to eat any less. To follow up on the question about starting point/dose/symptoms, I started at 14 st (BMI 34ish) and target is 4st loss to get into a healthy Bmi.

@Blondeshavemorefun I really sympathise. I was on a plateau for near enough a year - could not budge the scales - and it is miserable. It’s why I started MJ. Be kind to yourself and thank your body for taking such good care of you. I imagine you know the famine/feast theory ad nauseum so won’t bother. But I do advise you reduce a simple carb (bread/rice/pasta/potato) to one meal a day and up your fibre. X

It’s interesting how everyone’s journey is different but then again, we have people on different doses - some are microdosing etc and everyone has different amounts to lose.

I have around 15kg to my end result (7kg to healthy weight). I started at the beginning of August and I am taking my 4th 5mg dose tomorrow. I had a (free) pizza last night and really regret it, didn’t have much appetite suppression and probably overate! I am glad I ordered 7.5mg for my next pen and am almost tempted to start it early. 5mg has been plain sailing but with little result to my weight too. I’m sorry others have had side effects.

Hi all, if you’re taking smaller doses (ie I’m taking 2.5 from a 5mg pen), do you still have to wait 72hours between doses?
I only ask as the suppression isn’t great for me on 2.5 anymore and I wondered if anyone had topped up before the 72 hours?

@CaptainWaffle I’m not doing that, but I think the 3 day rule is because your body metabolises 50% of MJ after 3 days. If you took more MJ before then, you run the risk of taking too much as your body will still have the majority of your previous injection in your system.

The micro meal is low fat /M&S usually and maybe 2 a week usually when in a mad dash for work

I get the point of too many carbs but if I don't eat them I am Hungary

A jacket tuna and salad is also a meal I have often

Maybe my mind is set due to sw and I could eat carbs - obv not go overboard but lose weight

And obv all meals have fresh /frozen veg

It's just frustrating !!!

I do look on the what do I eat post and some of the things they eat and lose weight ans I think wow

where as I don't think my average day is that bad

Started off well and maybe I will respond to higher doses

It's just the long plateau of no weight Lost in 3w now I think

Let's hope Fri will be my day !!!

That's why it's so nice doing a monthly group as most of us on here are heading to 7.5 as started early /mid aug

Know some are end of aug so on lower dose. You can read our struggles and what you hopefully won't face in October lol

Maybe to 'try' to get out of the SW mind space you could try eating (within reason) whatever you want, whenever you want. I haven't been dieting since being on MJ and have found the MJ kind of does it for me. Stops me when I'm full etc. I understand you don't seem to have the level of suppression but perhaps you're almost eating out of habit from your old SW diet.

Feel free to tell me to mind my own business was just a thought as I've never eat as much in my life as when I was on SW!
