@AnnieMcFanny I would be happy losing 1/2 a week so 4/8 a month

This month I have lost 2 lbs - that's a very costly 2lbs - £75 a lb 🙀🙀😡😡🥲🥲

Hence why I'm rather fucked off today

I don't think mj works for me

Maybe I'm going to be in that low % that it doesn't

More likely you are one if the very many people who only get bigger losses at higher doses.

The manufacturer has reviewed the studies and doesn't expect people to lose on 2.5, then it is normally a fairly small loss on 5.0. I think you are only on 2.5 so you are responding better than expected! Don't be dismayed by the few who post big early losses.

FlappingMadly · 20/09/2024 14:43

I’ve just had a near catastrophic NSV. I was pleased to find my jeans a lot loser and went about my day. Walking back from the supermarket with a heavy backpack and 2 bags I feel my jeans slipping and then suddenly very precarious 😳😬😱😰
Managed to grab them just in time. Then had to heft 2 bags in one hand to hold jeans up up with the other and schlep home like that.

weaseleyes · 20/09/2024 14:44

I think we all know we should expect plateaus - on MJ or even normal dieting - but when you don't see progress it's so disheartening. But it is normal. I was surprised to see that article someone posted about plateaus saying that an actual plateau, involving your body's set point adjusting and no real loss - is 8-12 weeks long. 8-12 weeks!! That seems an eternity if you're religiously dieting and not seeing any reward! But I guess that's the reality of weight loss for a lot of us and the biggest reason so many of us have given up in the past.

I'm just hoping I won't be someone who plateaus for that long, though I do want my set point to change, so maybe it's needed? If I do hit that kind of stall, I think I'll have more trust in the MJ meaning I'll get through it eventually than I would by willpower alone. But it would be an expensive stall.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2024 14:50

Thanks @FlappingMadly

@WorriedRelative no I've been on mj almost 2mths. On last dose of 5 next week

7.5 is ready in my fridge

lookathatbookcase · 20/09/2024 14:54

Rambling update: End of week 8 (!!!) - either jabbing tonight or tomorrow, 3.75 again; then need to order the next dose and some needles for the bonus dose. After massive suppression this week, have been ravenous today, but also have dinner out with friends so looking forward to that. Definitely a week where I learned that too much bread is not great for slowed digestion, but also too much corn??

SW was 15st 8' - would be amazing to get before 14st today or before the end of September, but let's see. Clothes are definitely much looser, tummy is smaller (but a very long way from small), can't really see any difference on my face, ankles remain slender as they have done since week 2 :)

Thanks as ever for everyone sharing here.

Just catching up with the thread. I’m glad to hear so many of you feel the same as me!! 💙

To add to the current conversation- I too stalled with progress recently. I found this website quite useful as it tells you how many calories you have burned more than you eat: https://trendweight.com/dashboard/

It needs smart scales for the calculation. I have started exercising more and I am seeing my weight reduce more, so I think if you do push yourself more during a plateau you will get through the other end faster.

eeeeeeeee · 20/09/2024 15:10

In terms of the dosage conversation, this is the manufacturer’s website:
https://mounjaro.lilly.com/hcp/getting-patients-started#dosing

The 2.5mg dose is intended for treatment initiation and not for chronic weight management. So if you haven’t lost much weight on 2.5mg that’s completely normal.

In fact, I recall seeing clinical trials that suggested you lose more weight on higher doses. I wish there was a website we can use to access official information as it’s such a pain to try and locate all these tidbits!

NippyCrab · 20/09/2024 15:36

I've posted before about low mood etc and I was supposed to call Oushk but didn't and now this week I've been not great at all, not at crisis point but definitely cause for concern. I've called Oushk and there's no one available to speak to and I've to call back Monday. I called the GP this morning and they are closed for the bank holiday. I wanted to ask if I could increase my Sertraline by a small amount until I can get an appointment. My DH is on his way home, my usual pharmacy is also closed, I don't think 25mg will cause any harm.
I'm adamant I'm not stopping MJ because that will be another thing I've failed at.
Sorry for the dramatic post.

@NippyCrab Oh love, sorry you are not feeling great. Hopefully Dh is home now or will be soon.

I'm sorry that you have been unable to get in touch with anyone, is there another number on your GPs website that you can call.

Treat yourself to something nice at the weekend if you can manage it, I know we all use food as a comfort but sometimes we need it. And no more talk of failure.

Let us know how you are doing over the weekend x

Hira has a live tomorrow so you could always ask her then or email her directly - last time I emailed on a Sunday and she got back pretty quickly

72w so 1.5yrs

Reading about mj, it seems most studies on it were carried out over a period of between 72 and 84 weeks!
Its definitely not to be considered a quick or easy fix!

Wingingit11 · 20/09/2024 16:42

@nipp I think hira also has a watsapp?

@Blondeshavemorefun 14 lb over 8 weeks is still really great. Appreciate the last few weeks a bit disappointing but 12 over the first four weeks is quite fast and hopefully next month you’ll shake another half stone!

OP posts:
Wingingit11 · 20/09/2024 16:43

That shd be @nippy sorry: hope DH is being a help home. You could call 111 for an out of hours appointment?

OP posts:
MabelSpan · 20/09/2024 16:45

@NippyCrab sorry you are having a horrible time right now. You could speak to a pharmacist, they have such excellent knowedge of medications or 111 as mentioned above😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2024 16:47

@Wingingit11 13lbs. I didn't even make the sodding stone

But I appreciate what you mean

The first huge loss was probably water

@NippyCrab ((hugs)) what dose are you on? My friend was on 30 so if a lower dose you may be able to increase

Are you in Ireland as not a bank hol in uk

Or try calling 111 and speak to a doctor

Or chemists are often helpful

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2024 16:48

Snap @MabelSpan Great minds

Wingingit11 · 20/09/2024 16:52

@Blondeshavemorefun that’s still over 1.5 lb a week! It’s great going and I think you have to ask yourself if you’d have lost the 13lb without MJ? I know I wouldn’t ! I’m on week 7 having started beginning of August and only on about 17 on but that’s been about 2-3 lb pretty consistently so it averages out the same . And remember - the faster that you lose it, the more likely you are to gain it fast!

OP posts:
Wingingit11 · 20/09/2024 16:58

I’m on day 5-6 of 5mg and feeling like the suppression has slid quickly this afternoon and feeling quite snacky !

I had a call from a lovely lovely man from Oushk who saw my post on here and he's said he would get Hira to call me, and she did. She was absolutely amazing, she explained everything how it works and how my brain could be affected, and that it's the medication and not me. DH is stuck in traffic on the A9, think it's moving now, there was a bad accident. It's a bank Holiday in Scotland, sorry I don't know who said what. He won't be home until about 7ish now. Hira has said I can call her, message her if I need to, I wouldn't do that but if anyone is looking to have a new prescriber it's Oushk.
I feel a drama queen but I feel better knowing I can increase one medication tonight as a one off and call the GP Tuesday.
Thank you to everyone on here. I am usually quite normal xx

Hence nearly 2st lost but .13 on mj

And why I'm grumpy lol

Just read about someone who has lost 2st a month. Tho that seems extreme

But ignore me. I'm just grumpy lol

If I don't lose next week after 21 days /3w Iof no loss - I don't know what I I will do BM!!!!!
