eeeeeeeee

My progress has definitely slowed down, I think I will maintain this week. Overall I have lost 8kg since I started and have around 15kg to go…so I’m trying to look at it from the positive side; I have already completed a third of my progress which is good. I’m trying not to dwell on the plateau as this is a stubborn weight for me. I’ve been able to get down to this weight before, but in recent months ended up gaining. The fact I’m able to maintain this weight is good because it shows my eating habits have adjusted

I could have written your post! I have lost 8.2kg since I started, I have 14kg left to lose and have been hovering around the same weight for 2 weeks now. I'm glad it's not just me. What I've read suggests it's normal and the weight should start moving again soon. I believe the body is trying to get used to the new weight before allowing you to lose more.

Wingingit11 · 16/09/2024 06:41

@AnnieMcFanny oof sounds bad! Rest up! Good job you’re able to do that today!

morning Monday weighers! Well after an undisciplined week I’ve lost my standard 2.5 which I’m more than happy with and down 18 lb in six weeks. Drink a tonne of water yesterday in the hope it might take me into the 14s for the first time in about 5 years but bang on 15.0 so going to try to avoid the scales this wk to have a bit of motivation to cross the magic threshold!

Hi everyone, this is a great thread!

Im trying to get the 5th dose from the pen and have been able to get the dial to move from 0 fairly easily. It only moves a few clicks tho and I wondered if I’m supposed to keep twisting til it gets to 1?
TIA

Yes, I’d read about the ‘hard twist’ but it was harder than I expected. It felt like I was breaking some internal mechanism, but it did work.

Definitely worth it to get 5 weeks rather than 4 out of each pen.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2024 07:15

Oh no @AnnieMcFanny Tbh I can't stand wine or bubbly now

Really since I got preg gone off it

The smell is enough to make my grave

Hope you feel better today

Queezee · 16/09/2024 07:27

Morning all. I started early Aug and have lost 13lbs. I’ve had a long awaited holiday and didn’t jab do have stayed on 2.5 for the second pen which I’m happy do do. Got another 15lb to go. The going on holiday was a funny thing as I generally go for it - eat, drink, hangovers etc but didn’t. Ate lots of fish and chicken, had a glass of wine not a bottle - it was a bit of a revelation to be fair as had an even better time than normal 🥳

Queezee · 16/09/2024 07:30

Everyone hello! We are doing ok aren’t we? Thanks hope all the support, this thread is brilliant

Willowy1982 · 16/09/2024 07:41

Morning, sending everyone positive vibes for the week! I'm one year sober today and 12lbs down since MJ. I'm taking my bonus dose on Wednesday and plan to take about 3.75mg if I can get that much out. I was supposed to get up and go swimming early this morning but I had a lie in instead as I've been solo parenting all weekend and was tired. Maybe I'll try and go later instead.

FlappingMadly · 16/09/2024 08:13

Massive congratulations! @Willowy1982 💐🎇🎉

Choux · 16/09/2024 08:40

Huge congratulations @Willowy1982 both on the weight loss and being 1 year sober. Go you!

After a weekend of solo parenting you have earned your lie in too.

MidLifeResurgence74 · 16/09/2024 08:50

Nice one @Willowy1982 - fantastic achievement!

I’ve just caught up with the thread and huge congratulations to all the August crew.

I’m back from a three day festival to celebrate my 50th and feel great. Took 3.75mg on Thursday from my new 5mg pen (that’s my 6th dose) and weighed this morning.

SW 14 stone 5
CW 12 stone 11
Five and a half weeks on MJ

I’m over the moon! And finally I’ve worked out how to live. Much much much smaller meals, snacks almost, and no food after 6pm. Ice cream makes me feel sick for HOURS.

morbidcuriosity · 16/09/2024 08:59

I'm due my bonus dose tomorrow, going to see how much I get out of my 2.5 pen as there looks more than 1 lot left, then going to move up to my 5mg next week.

SW 18.6
CW 17.0
GW 15, this is my 1st goal to reach.
Overall goal is 12.5 but that's a long way off yet. .

WitchDancer · 16/09/2024 09:06

Morning all. The scales are busted so I can't weigh in and the sulphur burps are back. I'm having an hour pity party and then it's chin up, tits out, and carry on with life!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/09/2024 09:13

@Willowy1982 well done on year sober

An amazing and hard thing 😍

Willowy1982 · 16/09/2024 09:16

Thanks everyone 😊 and we got this! 🙌

WorriedRelative · 16/09/2024 09:28

Weigh in day and the day of my second 5mg jab today.

First week of 5mg was fine in terms of side effects. I was a bit headachey but that could have been PMT, as I was due on. Nothing awful. Suppression was there but not too strong. I'm still trying to get used to what makes a suitable portion size as I often serve up far too much and leave loads.

The last couple of weeks my daily weigh ins have been very up and down. It has felt as though I have been bouncing around the same kilo, gaining and losing but the trend on my graph is still overall going down. With that in mind it was great to get on the scales this morning and see nearly a whole kilo off since yesterday, a new low!

That takes me to 5.4kg total in 6 jabs. That is 11.9lbs.

NSV I can feel a difference in some clothes now, I wore a dress on Saturday that felt looser on the shirred bit below the bust and above the waist, my period pants fit better and one of my bras is looking a bit roomy.

WorriedRelative · 16/09/2024 09:32

Oh and BMI is now down from 34.5 to 32.7!

MelainesLaugh · 16/09/2024 09:34

Has anyone else found that their IBS has improved greatly on MJ?

Previously I had to always be near a toilet after eating. It would just go right through me and it was horrific. Now I only have one poo a day, I can’t remember the last time I was like that!!

Ive been away this weekend so not expecting any loss, I’ve shuddered at how fat I look in photos but know at least the next batch I won’t look that bad.

weaseleyes · 16/09/2024 09:43

Some excellent achievements on here this morning!

To those finding they feel a bit down about it, I wonder how much of this is due to there being less of a novelty factor/dopamine hit about the journey a month or so in? I really resonate with everything I've read about the way we can start craving dopamine as a way of underpinning rather compulsive behaviour, whether it's food or something else. There's a lot about how the dopamine comes from the anticipation rather than the actual act, and that sounded like how much of the food noise felt to me. I'd be having a crap day and I'd think about what I could eat and really start craving it, but of course when I was eating it I usually felt a bit sick and disappointed. (Of course, not all eating was like this, but it happened to me often enough to reflect on it.)

I heard one podcast where they were contrasting how excited everyone was about planning to diet and how great it would be with the dull reality of just keeping going. At this point, everyone would give up, partially so they had the excitement of thinking about their next plan. MJ has lots of 'hits' - trying something new, joining threads, learning how to do it, thinking about the side effects - now we're mainly just left with the plodding, even if there's still a lot of dosage adjustment etc along the way. The plodding is hard!

Zippitydoodaa · 16/09/2024 10:03

I've actually put 1lb on this morning , despite not doing anything different . Its the first in 10 weeks ,after losing about 27lbs , but just taking it as part of the process. Hopefully it'll be back off soon.
I'm on 3.75, but not going up just yet, still have suppression,
I'll see how Fridays weigh in goes ,then perhaps think of going to 5.

MabelSpan · 16/09/2024 10:59

Hi everybody!

Congratulations to all those recording losses and cheers of support to those experiencing plateaus or little temporay gains. We are all still here! Still going! Still not reaching for the emotional/reward/self desctructive/cant be arsed food crutch that we once did, so that is a huge win in my book!
Well done all of us!😊

Its weigh day and 1st 5mg jab day for me.

SW 20st 3lbs
CW 19st.1.8lbs
TL wk5/32days 1st 1.2lbs
2.5mg wk1 -7.4lbs wk2 - no loss wk3 - 2.4lbs wk4 2.6lbs
wk5 bonus dose 3.25mg - 2.8lbs

I am really pleased with my loss so far. I am working at it, recording my food, mainly for macros but also watching cals. Happy to feel a bit hungry in the evening on the rare occasion it happens, I have never eaten after about 18.00hrs. Its the food noise, which has vanished, along with the crippling cravings that is truly incredible and hopefully life changing for me!
Long may it continue!
Right, better go and grab my 5mg pen and get that first proper jab done. Fingers crossed for minimal to no side effects😊

That's a really interesting way of looking at this. Thank you for sharing!

poppym12 · 16/09/2024 12:33

Best way to deal with nausea? I had my first 5ml yesterday and feel too nauseous to eat but I know I should. Any tips please? And is it likely to last long?

lookathatbookcase · 16/09/2024 12:41

@poppym12 Peppermint or ginger tea are good for me when I'm nauseous. Counterintuitively, actually eating a little bit of something small and plain helps to get rid of it - something like a vanilla yogurt or half a banana.

MabelSpan · 16/09/2024 12:58

@poppym12 I take cyclizine, works a treat.

FlappingMadly · 16/09/2024 13:08

Great point @weaseleyes
I had a stressy trigger msg last night and was immediately on my feet and in the kitchen. The old me would have munched on sth but I just walked out. I cannot say hand on heart that without MJ I wouldn’t have picked up crisps or similar. But I hope by the time I’m at goal I’ll have got this sorted.
