@NippyCrab i hear you! Thank you for sharing.

poppym12 · 15/09/2024 10:30

I've just done my first 5mg injection. I had to prime it twice as nothing came out at first then 3 drops came out - what a waste!! Then I forgot to tap the bubbles out. Is that much of a problem?

4pink1blue · 15/09/2024 11:00

Not enjoying 5mg. After sailing through 2.5 I'm really suffering. I feel so queasy and had a low level headache for 2 days. I can't get my calories in because I feel so rough. Urgh.

Timetochange24 · 15/09/2024 11:04

My jeans fit!!! Snug, but they're not doing me an injury squeezing into them any more 😁😁😁

Well done for all the progress over the last few days. I'm just catching up after a busy week but it sounds like a lot is going in the right direction.

I'm taking my weight this week with a pinch of salt because it's my first period since starting MJ so it's up and down. I'm going to see what it looks like in a few days.

HamAlive · 15/09/2024 11:08

@4pink1blue that's how I felt my first week on 5mg. I couldn't eat or drink much at all, felt groggy and had a headache. It did eventually get better, and my 2nd 5mg has been absolutely fine. Hope you feel a bit better soon.

The headaches did ease up for me after a while, hang in there!

weaseleyes · 15/09/2024 11:16

I'm feeling the effects of a bonus dose (of about 3.3) more than I thought initially. I seem to get a bit of a build up of side effects around day 3. They're still not terrible compared to what some put up with, just low level nausea and feeling a bit tired, weak and dizzy if I bend over, and I guess that will ease off over the next couple of days. I'm now minded to stick to maybe 3.75 rather than go up to 5 this week. For all the relief I feel at the reduced food noise and levels of hunger, I must say I don't enjoy feeling physically a bit ... precarious.

MabelSpan · 15/09/2024 11:27

@weaseleyes Have you checked your blood pressure? MJ can cause a drop in BP and everything you have described is a possible symptom. I had slightly raised to high bp before mj and it is now well within the normal range. Might be worth a look. I hope you start to feel better soon😊

FlappingMadly · 15/09/2024 11:32

Don’t forget MJ also affects blood sugar which could make you tired and dizzy. If a sliver of eg mars bar helps you’ll know that’s the cause.

weaseleyes · 15/09/2024 11:34

Thanks @MabelSpan, that might be worth thinking about. My BP is usually fairly normal, so I guess if it's dropped I could be feeling it. I've always been pleased it wasn't high as whenever I saw a medical professional and they'd lecture me about my weight, they'd usually take my blood pressure and look really disappointed that they couldn't tell me in a disapproving way how high it was! I don't suppose there's much I can do if it is low apart from keep an eye on it and wait for it to pass.

MabelSpan · 15/09/2024 11:43

@weaseleyes I was the same, until perimenopause ruined my world. I was mortified when the nurse, as part of the ok for HRT took my bp and it was through the roof, it had always been perfect, despite me being so fat. It was the one thing about my body I was pleased with. Thankfully, the nurse was really understanding of my desperation for hrt so she didnt record my bp and told me to keep an eye on it, which I did. I am so glad mj has helped to reduce it as I have been trying to reduce it through diet for almost 2yrs and whilst it was heading in the right direction, mj has it well and truly back where it should be!

I am not sure what you can do to raise your bp🤔

Sorry went off on a bit of a bp, hrt, mj tangent there folks😁

Pinkjenny · 15/09/2024 12:01

Good luck to everyone starting their new doses and well done to all the scale, inch and jeans victories!

I've just been to Tesco and I'm bloody exhausted. Taking dd to see Jonas Brothers later so I need to liven up Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2024 12:19

So weird how 2.5/5 effects people differently

I don't seem to have the suoression others do

Roll on 7.5 in 2w

Not going to waste the 2 x 5 I have but Hope 7.5 will do more

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2024 12:40

Just had another thought

I have quite a fat tummy. Always have. Even before children

I jab there. What if I'm not getting the dose properly as the needle is so small/little that it obv goes into my skin but the liquid doesn't reach my body

Does that make sense

As apart from tiredness and extra weeing at night I don't have any of the other symptoms lots on thread do

And maybe why I'm hungry

Do I need to jab my thigh instead

SilenceInside · 15/09/2024 13:04

@Blondeshavemorefun the injection is supposed to go into your subcutaneous fat layer, so your stomach area is absolutely fine, and the liquid will be where it needs to be.

You could try your thigh if you like, no harm in seeing if it makes any difference to you, but make sure you follow the instruction leaflet pictures so that you know where on your thigh to inject. It must go into the fatty layer, not into muscle.

FlappingMadly · 15/09/2024 13:24

@Blondeshavemorefun I saw the ‘is my tummy too big for the dose to work’ debate on another thread and the theory was debunked. I have big tummy, jab in tummy, have hardly any of the symptoms others report but am seeing exciting changes every day. You have too! I think my nausea is low because I put it one side and am distracted. It rises a bit at bed time.
There is a brain guy, I forget who, who says new habits fail at the month mark because basically our lizards brain kick in - ‘Whaaaat! You want to change a habit that’s kept you alive for all these years!?’ So if we push past it will become easier. I’ve just had lunch and am already planning dinner 🤣

MissFancyDay · 15/09/2024 13:35

@Blondeshavemorefun the skin layer is very thin, you will definitely be injecting into fat, which is where it needs to go. Apparently if you inject into the thigh it takes longer to feel the effect so I would stick to the tummy.

If it's any consolation I don't have much suppression either, but am finding it much easier to stick to calorie counting. If I wasn't counting calories and just relying on the drug to stop me eating I don't think that I would have lost anything yet.

Yes I'm looking forward to the higher doses, and hopefully 10mg is the one.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2024 14:28

Thanks all. I hadn't seen the other thread /discussion about stomachs /fatty places

I shall stick to the stomach then

NippyCrab · 15/09/2024 15:19

That was a great question @Blondeshavemorefun because I have been injecting into my thighs because I was scared of other side effects if I did my tummy. I did it yesterday and was visualising the jag melting my fat away 😂

Wingingit11 · 15/09/2024 15:36

I am joining you 5ers after weeks of going up gradually 😅 hope my faltering doesn’t pay me back with side effects !

SilverSprings510 · 15/09/2024 15:37

@Blondeshavemorefun I am massive and I inject into my tummy and have had good losses every week.

Struggling to keep up - 11mo keeping me on my toes 😅 but definitely noticing less suppression this week on my last 2.5mg. I’ve felt properly hungry a few times - hasn’t felt that way the whole time I’ve been on MJ! Still keeping in my calories but looking forward to less food noise on 5.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 15/09/2024 15:58

Hi all! I started 4th august, 18lbs down. I'm on 5mg, took my second injection Friday. I feel awful!! So fatigued no matter how much I sleep. The suppression is really strong and I know I'm not eating enough. I can have 2 poached eggs on toast and then forget to eat anything else for the rest of the day. I think I've got myself into a bit of a cycle, not eating enough so feeling tired, then moping about waiting for the next nap opportunity!
I want this to work so I'm clearly going to have to force food in so I have more energy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2024 16:01

Stamps feet

I want suppression!!!

HereIfYouNeedMe · 15/09/2024 16:03

@Blondeshavemorefun it's putting me off, I can't sustain it feeling like this! So now going to have to spend more on healthy foods to force in throughout the day. I'm on a downer today! Got two small DC and I'm just lounging about with no energy!

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/09/2024 16:07

Bless you @HereIfYouNeedMe I eat 3 meals usually or a shake one meal

Smaller portions and not snacking really yet didn't lost last week and that's pissed me off

I know in the long run there will be ups and down - but wanted a loss as had been good

As I posted this am I did measure and have lost cm and almost a stone on mj and 1.1 dieting before so 2 in total but so weird how works diff for everyone on this thread
