@HeBeaverandSheBeaver I really am not knowledgeable at all, but I don't think that ketosis is necessarily a bad thing, as the keto-type diets all aim to get you into ketosis and to stay there.

You could try increasing the amount of carbs compared to protein that you're eating and see if that makes a difference?

My twin (ish) also just taken 2nd jab of 2.5mg with a start weight of 19st 12. I lost 5lb last week :-)

Hi @supadupapupascupa Its great to have a twin on this journey! 😊

GlueNoGlue · 21/08/2024 22:05

@MabelSpan youre the same weight I was when I started and I lost 7lb my first week too!

I took my 6th dose of 5mg yesterday. Nothing different about the injection site or anything like that but dear lord, I feel like absolute crap today. I’ve had to have two snoozes! I ache all over, have a background headache and generally feel rubbish. Not sure of its MJ making me feel like this or something else but I’ve not had severe side effects at all while I’ve been on MJ 🤷‍♀️

What you've described sounds like how I feel the day before a flu hits.

I hope it's just temporary for you. And if it's a bug I hope you get well soon and stay hydrated.

Can anyone tell me with regards to medexpress price matching.
I've just bought a 10mg pen using a combination of credit and card payment. Seeing as I've not actually paid full price but can prove that another pharmacy sells 10mg for cheaper than 190 will they honour it even though I've not technically paid the full 190 outright from my own cash? I feel like this is a loophole they'd use however... When they pricematch, someone mentioned that they reimburse you through credit rather than cash back therefore if they use said loophole, the next time you order and use the credit you'd not be entitled to the pricematch difference again?
I hope that makes sense and not too much waffle.

LastTimeLosingIt · 21/08/2024 23:36

Mumins · 21/08/2024 20:59

Hi! Did anyone do a price match with Medexpress after they purchased the pen? What does it look like? did you just send a pic of the other supplier with lower price? Is there anything they are asking?

Just FYI although there was a slight delay in prescribing the pen (1 day) the delivery was amazing! pen arrived the next day after the prescription was done, 2 ice packs still frozen!

Yes just done one. I used contact page and sent screenshot of competitors price with the relevant pen. They replied within a day to say they'd credited the difference to my account. So I can use it next time I order.

Screenshot the better rate with their competitor. Attach it to an enquiry thru their contact form. They do not need to see your payment page with how you paid, just a screenshot showing a competitor's rate is currently lower for that dose of pen. They credit it onto your account so you get the difference in price eg £12.01 off your next order with MedExpress

Hi @guestusername, I’ve also been ill this week, hitting me worse on Tuesday and yesterday. Awful fatigue, a headache that I couldn’t get rid of for 36 hours, which got worse when I moved around (I very rarely get headaches, probably had less than 10 in my 58 years), a temperature and generally feeling off. I’m not sure that it is MJ related, but I haven’t injected this week just in case it made things worse. I’m feeling a bit better today. I haven’t taken a full 5mg in one go yet, I’ve been taking 2.5 mg every 4 days (I’m on week 9 of MJ). I think there may be something going round.

NewLifter · 22/08/2024 07:24

Hi everyone, just caught up after a busy few days. Back to work after my holidays and finally getting some 'youre looking really well' comments, though no one has specifically mentioned weightloss.

I had an appointment on Monday that included BMI, they measured my height as less than I believed it to be, meaning my BMI is 31.6 when I believed it to be exactly 30. Going to recheck my height later in work with a colleague in the hopes they got it wrong!

I had various things checked and most came back really good (BP, blood sugar, heart rate, cholesterol). However my body fat was higher than I expected to be honest 😭 at 39%.

So looks like I need to lose more than I thought! I had planned to only lose another stone or so (I'm not bothered about getting my BMI into the 'normal' range.) I want to be healthy though.

My visceral fat is low which is reassuring (thank you MJ!).

Injection day for me today which would be easy to forget as I'm getting excellent suppression right through the week, it's not wearing off. Sticking with 3.75mg at least until the end of this pen (today is dose 4). I was worried about getting mixed up with my doses given there will be quite a bit left in mine due to counting clicks, so have been marking it in my calendar 😂).

Thanks for the recommendation for psyllium husk - great stuff!

Also thanks for the info re Oushk - I'm definitely going to move to them, either for my next pen, or the one after.

Sorry to hear some of you aren't well - hope it passes quickly.

I'm not 1 pound off a two stone loss - thought 8lbs was before MJ. Delighted with this. Started MJ on the 27th June.

Have a great day everyone!

I took my first 5mg last night after 8 weeks of 2.5mg (reminder that I switched from ozempic to mounjaro) and I've woken up with the biggest headache. Not sure if it's related or not? Has anybody else had this side effect? I'm going to try and drown it out with a lot of water this morning.

Yes headaches are a thing after an increase in doses for quite a few people. I always get them.

SnacklessWonder · 22/08/2024 08:24

So fed up today. A whole week of not losing even 0.2lb. I don't know what I am doing wrong or what I could do differently? (For reference, not just relying on MJ, I am in a calorie deficit that normally works really well for me). Sitting here having a cry this morning because it feels like I am putting in so much effort and it makes no difference. Should be out walking right now but can't motivate myself as I am feeling so down.

guestusername · 22/08/2024 08:54

@Jimmyneutronsforehead @Greyrockin thank you both - I’m not sure it’s the MJ either but my OH is pretty sure it is 🙄 I feel less tired this morning but still ache and generally just don’t feel right. I’ve got a long weekend off work after today so hopefully I can get some rest and shake whatever it is off

summerlovingvibes · 22/08/2024 08:58

It's been a long time since I've posted but I need help / advice!

Have been bumbling along just fine, few lbs a week loss etc and no major issues. Currently on 10mg.

Occasionally have a few gastro side effects a few days after I take my jab, but of nausea but it always resolves. Obviously I know the side effects from the drug and nothing unexpected.

This week (and this is my question). Jab last Saturday as normal. Monday had something that really didn't agree with me (despite me ordering the smallest plate, only eating half and removing batter etc) Explosive diarrhoea that night - as expected. All night. But then it has continued since then. Every day and every night. Barely eaten anything. Any water just goes straight through me.

Has anyone had this? Where something has set you off and it's lasted days and days?

Normally for me it's just a few hours after the meal then I'm ok.

My bum is sooo sore and bleeding a bit now and I'm starting to feel quite weak..

Is this a side effect or is this something else??

What dose are you on?
Weight loss is never linear. I've just had a 3 week stall despite exercising and being in a calorie deficit. You could also be still losing fat but it being masked by water weight - eg hormonal, increased exercise, retention after salty or carby foods.
If you read the stories of those who have been on this a long time, you will see that they all have had stalls or even periods of regaining a little. Don't give up.

SnacklessWonder · 22/08/2024 09:29

I'm only on week 2 of 2.5mg @Fromthesidelines but it's frustrating because I've never really struggled on a calorie deficit in the past. Normally it's very simple and I will consistently lose something (even if half a lb). I know I need to just keep on but it's all very demotivating and just feels like 'whats the point'.

GlueNoGlue · 22/08/2024 09:40

@summerlovingvibes I have bad side effects like that for two or three days after injecting, every week. It’s much worse when I eat dairy (cream, and milk are the worst, can’t eat it at all without being very ill, cheese I can do in very small doses). I had it from month 2 to month 5 and I’m just getting over it now in month 6. I think it’s an extreme reaction and most don’t get it that bad though? Imodium is very effective!

summerlovingvibes · 22/08/2024 09:56

@GlueNoGlue Imodium a good call - going to go and get some now. It's honestly like every 2-3 hours all day and night, sometimes more often in the day. Do you really have this every jab?! You poor thing!! I wouldn't be able to work if it's like this all the time - very lucky I've ironically been off work the last few days so near a loo at all times.

I don't know why it's suddenly just started like this. No new pen or anything.

Oh well will ride it out but if it's like this next week no idea what I'll do!

Hi @GlueNoGlue a true twin indeed! How are you finding your experience so far?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 22/08/2024 10:28

Maintained today, not going to stress as I'm off on holiday anyway and the food choices are going to be utter crap, so I'm fully expecting to come home retaining all the water 🤣

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 22/08/2024 10:38

Hey all,
I’ve been in Mounjaro since June and it’s been going well apart from one thing!
Does anyone have a problem with occasional muffled ears? ( Patulous Eustachian Tube Dysfunction) I’ve only had this since going on Mounjaro.
Apparently it’s a thing associated with fast weight loss. Some people on Reddit have made the association. It’s not harmful but very annoying.
I was wondering if anyone’s found anything that’s helped?

pinktransit · 22/08/2024 11:10

Weigh in and measurements day for me today, week 22.
SW: 12.6.6
CW: 9.11.8
IGW 9.7.00

MJ loss 36.9 lbs!! That's unbelievable 😀
I lost a few pounds before MJ, so including that I've lost a total of 42.5lbs.

Starting measurements:
Waist 36"
Hips 42.5"
Bust 41"
Thigh 24"

Current measurements:
Waist 30"
Hips 37"
Bust 38"
Thigh 21"

Overall a loss of 17.5".

I still don't feel that small though. My mind has yet to catch up. I'm now in a comfortable size 12 jeans (that is with an inch of room around the waist). I have bought a couple of pairs of size 10 which I can wear, but are a little tight around the waist for now. I held a pair up, and looked at the TINY waist, and can't believe that they actually go onto my body.

Staying at 7.5mg for now, taking 45 clicks from a 10mg pen. I'm finding that I have one week with minimal loss, and the next with a higher loss. Average loss per week is 1.75lbs which I'm happy with. Slow and steady.

Congrats to all on losses and NSVs, commiserations to those on stalls. Keep going, it's all working under the number on the scales.

ItsAlrightDarling · 22/08/2024 11:19

Weigh in day today (official weigh in, I actually weigh every day).
0.7kg lost this week which is my lowest weekly loss to date (I’m 13 weeks in), but still the right direction!

SW 84.1kg
CW 69.1kg
GW 60kg

Currently on 7.5mg and dithering between ordering another 7.5 or getting a 10 🤔

3wDavid · 22/08/2024 11:57

Official weigh-in day here too, although I too am guilty of a daily check of the scales.

The loss this week is exactly 1 kg/2 lbs. This is week 13 for me too.

SW: 107.2 kg (May 25)
CW: 88.7 kg (Aug 22)
GW: 70 kg (but before that: 85 kg, 80 kg, 75 kg)

I find that if I focus on the real GW I get so overwhelmed, because it's so far away and I have still SO. MUCH. to lose. I set myself little goals every 5 kg or so, which makes it seem more realistic.

Anyways, I am chuffed with how things are going so far, long may it continue.

I would do another weigh-in on Sunday, as it will be the 25th, and I would officially complete my 3rd full month on MJ.

PS. Placed a MedExpress order Mon morning; it got prescribed last night; dispensed this morning, so I expect it should be dispatched by end of day today with Royal Mail, and hopefully with me tomorrow (fingers crossed!).
