I'm not publishing my weight today. I reserve the right to remain silent 🤫

Going to blame my nan for cooking my Achilles heel of all foods yesterday, stew and dumplings.

I suspect I'll be back on track tomorrow so it was all worth it.

@3wDavid @ItsAlrightDarling @pinktransit and anyone else who has lost, congratulations!
Commiserations to those stalling. Take heart - I seem to have exited my 3 week stall following a couple of days refeeding and a 24 hour fast. It does start shifting again eventually!

OrangeWire · 22/08/2024 13:24

Weigh Day for me:

SW: 22st 11.8lbs
CW: 20st 1.8lbs
GW: 14st 10 (for now)

6lbs off this week for me! Can’t believe it! I was on holiday the week before and gained so some of that will be reduced bloating but I’m still really chuffed! I’ve pre-ordered a 7.5 for my next pen, I’m on my second month of 5, but I do continue with suppression right up until it’s time for the new jab so I’m starting to wonder if I’ve made a mistake and should have ordered another 5!

Also, what is going on with that big MJ Facebook group being deleted then reappearing all the time 😂 I might just leave it all together, this group is much more useful anyway!

Greyrockin · 22/08/2024 14:11

I ordered from Med Express on Tuesday this week and had all the warnings about them being really busy and delays. They came back to me as they needed me to clarify my height, as I thought 5'3" is 163cm, but it isn't (but almost - it's 5.35 feet...). Anyway it's all been approved now and should be with me tomorrow or Saturday, which I think is good.

I have ordered a 7.5mg pen which I'll be ready for in about 8 weeks, I think someone mentioned that the step up doses might be being approved more quickly?

Greyrockin · 22/08/2024 14:12

Great loss @OrangeWire 🎉

cappycap · 22/08/2024 14:54

Can anyone help please?

Due to Cloud sending me an improperly packaged pen (it arrived soaking wet and warm as the ice pack had a tear in it and had defrosted all over the packaging and unfortunately during the 26 degree heat) they re-sent a replacement pen out.

Due to this taking a couple of weeks, I had to get a pen from another supplier to bridge the gap or else I would have had to stop for a week or two.

The replacement pen they sent out has a shorter date than the original pen and although it has an extended shelf life now as per the below, I won't be needing to start it until 12/09, which means I won't finish the 4th dose of the pen until 03/10.

The new expiry date is 10/2024, does this mean the pen expires 01/10 or 31/10?

I wont be able to get all 4 doses out the pen if it expires 01/10.

Expiry dates where it is a month and a year mean you can use it up to the last day of that month. So you are fine till the 31st Oct 24 😊

cappycap · 22/08/2024 15:09

@MabelSpan

Phew!

Thanks for your help 😀

JamieFrasersSassenach · 22/08/2024 15:09

Hi @cappycap, usually with expiry dates on medication it's the end of the month - so 10/2025 would expire at the end of October. I see no reason why it would be any different with Mounjaro.

To be completely sure you could contact Cloud and double check with them?

Ifyounevergiveup · 22/08/2024 15:23

Just noticed a NSV: it never even crosses my mind to buy snacks at the garage!

QueenOfHiraeth · 22/08/2024 15:24

@cappycap I agree with those saying expiry dates are always the end of the month. You are safe!
@ItsAlrightDarling I am dithering too about 7.5mg or 10mg next. I had a bad month last month (family member in hospital so lots of driving, visiting, food from M&S/Costa/motorway services rather than planned and cooked) which resulted in increased nausea and no weight loss so I stayed on 7.5 in the hope I could get things back under control. That was overoptimistic as I had forgotten a long-planned weekend break so still trying to find my mojo and dithering which strength might work best!

Ifyounevergiveup · 22/08/2024 16:07

@QueenOfHiraeth @ItsAlrightDarling gotta be honest before I give my uninformed opinion! - I have never yet had any side effects so I know nothing really. But it seems to me that if you’re not hungry, you shouldn’t go up. We know Mj doesn’t make you lose weight. It helps with the willpower we all have to have to eat so much less than we have in the past. So for me, if you’re not hungry (including that awful food noise most of us get) then you’re unlikely to benefit from going up and the dreaded side effects might crop up. If you do experience hunger or food noises, particularly if it increases as your week goes on (and the jab effects lessen) then go for it, sister! x

Edited

I guess my issue is that I don’t know how I’ll be feeling by the last dose of 7.5 and i need to order before that really as I don’t know how long it will take to come!
I decided to stay on 5mg for a second month because I was still feeling good suppression at the end of the pen, but then a week into the second month it wore off and I then had 3 weeks of needing a lot of willpower in order to lose weight 😬. Which is fine, but it feels like a waste of money if it isn’t actually doing anything 😁

Ifyounevergiveup · 22/08/2024 16:36

@ItsAlrightDarling I see your point, that’s a true dilemma! Delays in delivery didn’t occur to me, Care Pharmacy have always been very reliable. You’ve given me reason to stay with them 😀

I think I’m going to order the 10mg. If it’s too much I can always count clicks and take it back down to 7.5mg

That's what I've just done, following the same reasoning.

This is what I've done. I ordered a 10, and decided that as suppression was reasonable and I was still losing I'm going to stick on 7.5 (45 clicks) and see how it goes. I have the option of a full 10 if I think I need it.

Currently, the first half of the post jab week I'm not eating enough, then that balances out for the second half of the week. I think if I go up to 10 then I may not eat enough over the week.

Well the stomach bug is still ongoing but now manageable and I've lost a whopping stone in 15 days. 😵‍💫😂

Hey all,
I’ve been in Mounjaro since June and it’s been going well apart from one thing!
Does anyone have a problem with occasional muffled ears? ( Patulous Eustachian Tube Dysfunction) I’ve only had this since going on Mounjaro.
Apparently it’s a thing associated with fast weight loss. Some people on Reddit have made the association. It’s not harmful but very annoying.
I was wondering if anyone’s found anything that’s helped?

I am having ear problems too! Blockage/crackling sounds are driving me nuts.

Have also had some gynae issues and was wondering if those, and other people's reports of disrupted cycles, are due to sudden drops in oestrogen levels caused by rapid fat loss?

Dear God, @WitchyBits , I don’t know whether to celebrate or commiserate! Have you managed to stay hydrated? Are you able to walk more than two metres unaided?! Glad you’re on the way back but good heavens, the last fortnight must have felt like a lifetime!

QueenOfHiraeth · 22/08/2024 20:59

@Slimstar13 @ItsAlrightDarling @pinktransit I think that is my thinking too so I will probably think of 10 next time as well and live in hope it works as well for me as for you @Slimstar13
I'm also weighing up changing provider. Mine is more expensive but offers more support than the online pharmacies - you can book regular appointments with coaches but I am feeling that I'm not needing that now, I'm getting more benefit from these threads!

Yes!!! I keep getting this, I was worried I was getting an ear infection but it hasn’t got worse just occurs every now and then, normally when I’m having a good streak. I hadn’t linked it to the MJ though, interesting!!

MountKilimounjaro · 22/08/2024 22:15

@SnacklessWonder apologies if someone else has already said this but worth noting that 2.5mg isn't a therapeutic dose. This means that for many people it won't have any effect until you've gradually titrated upwards to higher levels.

I completely understand the frustration but this isn't a quick fix I'm afraid, it takes time and patience.

Yeah I understand that - and I'm not expecting it to but even without MJ, I am in a decent calorie deficit so in theory should be losing on that alone. I usually do. I've not gone over my calories in over 11 days but not lost in 7 days.
