This is interesting. I don't have a blue light but have something similar that may count. Didn't realise it was 30%. That is amazing.

Oh is it first order only? Then that's rubbish!

Fromthesidelines · 21/08/2024 14:29

It is possible I may have ended my stall of the last 3 weeks.

Someone was recommending the Mindy Pelz book, which I haven't bought as it just sounded like an overly-complicated way of doing intermittent fasting, which I'm already doing. Apparently, to get of a stall you do a combination of refeeding followed by a 36 hour fast. The refeeding is apparently more complicated than just a day or two of eating a bit more and the fast has to be a 36 hours, no more or less, 'because science'. Cynical me just wonders how you would sell books if you didn't wrap simple concepts up in complicated instructions?

Anyway, I had visitors at the weekend so, without going mad, let myself eat a bit more than I have been, including Sourdough bread, a small helping of dessert, some cheese and a couple of glasses of wine. Easy for me as suppression has never been too strong. I then did a 24 hour fast.

I've lost 2.5 lbs and my weight starts with a 12 for the first time in decades (12st.13.8, but still!) and my BMI is now overweight.

MabelSpan · 21/08/2024 14:37

@Fromthesidelines big congratulations! I am delighted for you 😊

MabelSpan · 21/08/2024 14:43

Hi everyone!

I have just done my 2nd injection of 2.5mg. Side effects during my first week were a dry mouth and then watery mouth, they have pretty much gone now, but hiccups, randomly and burping after eating is still going strong! Thankfully no other side effects so far.

Based on my eating habits I would have expected this loss. It is about what I was losing on The Fast 800 diet, which I am kind of doing again, only I no longer weigh anything and am eating nuts and seeds which will definitely take me over 800cals.

Food noise is pretty much gone and that is a huge thing for me.
I was getting the most intense unrelenting cravings, which were completely controlling my eating habits and lasting for days at a time, that was the reason for me deciding on MJ as I read somewhere that it works on your brain as well as your belly, thus helping with cravings as well as slowing down stomach emptying.

If the food noise can stay quiet and the cravings stay gone, then I think, hope, I have the discipline to make this work.

I have a long weigh, (see what I did there!) To go but am definitely off to a positive start.

Hope you are all having a good week 😊

I wondered if anyone has any thoughts about delivery and cold chain? I ordered my next pen, and Asda/DPD have been too efficient and attempted delivered today when their initial estimate was Thursday onwards. I am out all day today and so wasn't in for the delivery. They will attempt delivery tomorrow. So the pen will be sat in a DPD warehouse overnight with the ice packs melting... will it still be cold enough when it's delivered tomorrow? Will it be useable or have I wasted the best part of £200?

I would think it will be ok, those ice packs and the coolwool together are pretty effective. If however they have melted and the cold chain is broken I think somewhere in the Asda/Zava info it says to let them know, sure they will send a replacement for you asap.

Darlinghag · 21/08/2024 14:51

I am now on day 3 of my first dose.

Today I have been actually hungry with some short bouts of mild nausea. I was really hoping for a reduction in ‘food noise’ but not much as of yet.

i am still within my deficit though.

i did weigh myself. I am actually around 5 pounds down - however, i had been off my deficit over the weekend and typically i usually gain a lot of water weight that i shed quickly once ive gotten back on track for a few days, so i dont think thats the mounjaro effect!!

I have found that an ASDA order typically arrives the day after approval by the doc. I had a pen arrive this afternoon and the ice pack had barely melted. ASDA also uses wool insulation, which seems to help the pen stay cold. Hopefully yours will be fine if they deliver it tomorrow.

SilenceInside · 21/08/2024 14:59

@MabelSpan and @EternalFatalist thank you, that all assuages my stress about it! Logically it should be fine, it's not hot weather atm and the ice packs and insulation should do their job, I hope. Just annoying that they beat their estimated delivery! Shouldn't complain about them being too efficient I suppose.

This is interesting. I don't have a blue light but have something similar that may count. Didn't realise it was 30%. That is amazing.

I have had 15% off at the independent pharmacy with blue light and health service discounts on both my orders to date but theyre one time use! There is also 10% at pharmacy 2 u. Loyds and day lewis too but I think its in store only

BatFaceGrrrll · 21/08/2024 17:20

@SilenceInside it'll be fine. It doesn't need to be refrigerated or kept ice cold - just needs to stay under 30 degrees which it will do right now as it's not particularly warm weather!

So honestly don't worry about it at all

Timeturnerplease · 21/08/2024 17:20

Pinkyp22 · 21/08/2024 10:18

It is 30%
There are quite a few pharmacies offering discounts with a blue light card. Some are for first time customers, some can be repeated.

Ah, I’m one of the teachers who broke the Blue Light site when Mr P on Twitter revealed that we were eligible! I’m gutted that I can’t use the discount on MedExpress since I can’t facilitate deliveries (work full time and obviously can’t have meds delivered to school). I can’t find any information online about Boots Online Doctor accepting BL discounts. Before I message them, does anyone know for sure if they do/don’t?

It does need to stay refrigerated before first use.

it will be fine, the weather has cooled off significantly. Just pop it in the fridge when you receive it. It is perfectly good to use, you’ve not wasted anything

They definitely do not do blue light or key worker discounts unfortunately, How I wish they did I'd be in heaven!
I have had mine for years as has my husband , but when covid hit it completely crashed and went mental with people applying then! Best deal I ever got on it is a half price Emma mattress

guestusername · 21/08/2024 18:46

I took my 6th dose of 5mg yesterday. Nothing different about the injection site or anything like that but dear lord, I feel like absolute crap today. I’ve had to have two snoozes! I ache all over, have a background headache and generally feel rubbish. Not sure of its MJ making me feel like this or something else but I’ve not had severe side effects at all while I’ve been on MJ 🤷‍♀️

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/08/2024 19:17

@BatFaceGrrrll An unused pen must be refrigerated. It is only once you have started to use it that it can be kept out of the fridge and under 30C

SnacklessWonder · 21/08/2024 19:51

From MedExpress....

How to store Mounjaro®
Mounjaro® can be kept unrefrigerated for up to 21 days. However, we recommend you return the pen to the fridge after each use.

SnacklessWonder · 21/08/2024 19:52

And from Asda as a second source...

How long can Mounjaro be out of the fridge?
Mounjaro should ideally be kept in the fridge, but it can be stored unrefrigerated for up to 30 days. If you keep Mounjaro out of the fridge, it must not exceed temperatures above 30°C. It should not be exposed to light, so keep it in its original box or a medication box.

Continuing Mounjaro... Part 20
BatFaceGrrrll · 21/08/2024 20:24

@IReallyNeedThisToWork I've had several pens turn up 3 days after dispatch as they're been held up by Royal Mail. Upon checking with the dispensing company, they state they're absolutely fine to use - and any of the pharmacies will advise the same unless of course it's damaged or has been frozen / overheated

So I probably worded my answer clumsily but what I meant was ... it's fine to use if it's been held up a few days

Can anyone help.

On week six now in 2.5 mgs and only 4 kilos left to loose.

Has anyone has a sweet chemical type breath before. It's started a day ago and I've just realised it's my breath

Ketossi? Should I be worried.

Mumins · 21/08/2024 20:59

Hi! Did anyone do a price match with Medexpress after they purchased the pen? What does it look like? did you just send a pic of the other supplier with lower price? Is there anything they are asking?

Just FYI although there was a slight delay in prescribing the pen (1 day) the delivery was amazing! pen arrived the next day after the prescription was done, 2 ice packs still frozen!

My twin (ish) also just taken 2nd jab of 2.5mg with a start weight of 19st 12. I lost 5lb last week :-)
