Thanks for all the advice on here. I have just taken my first dose. My biggest downfall is wine so really hoping I’ll go off it 🤞🏻

ThirdStorm · 30/08/2024 15:27

@Sadteacher I enjoy a drink, wine and G+T mostly, since MJ I've barely touched anything - I just don't fancy it. When I do I have a glass of something , one glass is enough. Lots of people have reported similar.

I repeat ordered with MedExpress at 5.15pm today and I just checked status and prescription already approved! Back to normal service like others have said.

So not totally back to normal. Great my prescription was approved within 2 hours but they forgot to actually send it. Historically I can could order at 5pm Wednesday for delivery Friday. It is now confirmed as sent so I'm hoping it comes tomorrow (Saturday) otherwise I won't be at home all week. Frustrating.

Thanks - are they 12mm needles? I was wanting to get a shorter one as I am being a bit silly about using them and the shorter the needle the closer it is to what I do at the moment!!

Remember, technically, you inject differently with a syringe to the pen needles. The MJ pens are designed to inject straight in at 90degrees. With a syringe it is best practice to use your other hand to squeeze the flesh into a roll and inject into that with the syringe at a 45ish degree angle and release the roll of flesh as you inject. That is why the needles on syringes are often slightly longer but they are still very thin so you don't feel them any differently.

@diian I had a problem getting 1ml syringes from local pharmacies as most said they don't use them any more as all the insulins, etc are now in pens. One pharmacy gave me a pack of 0.3ml syringes without charging me as they said they were going to chuck them out anyway and they tided me over until I got some online. Our local needle exchange pharmacy would not split boxes of 100 syringes, I was tempted to wait for one of the local junkies and offer to buy from them!

I ordered Wednesday morning, it was approved straightaway but wasn't dispatched until Thursday morning and it arrived today (Friday).

Haven't touched wine since I started. Mainly because I am lowering calories but also haven't felt the urge. I have had two slimline gins in three weeks, whereas I was drinking wine every day (and wondering why I was overweight...)

So annoying. I ordered yesterday, it got approved quickly but it has been sitting on "medicine dispensed" since yesterday. I really want it to come tomorrow.

They stopped them a while ago go. There are now only referral codes for new customers. However they do price match. After you order send proof of the pen cheaper elsewhere and they credit you the difference to use against your next order.

I’m on my first proper dose of 5mg (week 10 and last couple of weeks I’ve been dosing 2.5 every 4 days or so). Jabbed 5mg yesterday after a full weeks break and have been ill today, D&V, and can barely eat. I think some people have mentioned weird hunger but not being able to face food? That’s how I’ve felt yesterday and today.

Has anyone on the thread had this and did it pass fairly quickly? I’m drinking plenty of water and feel like I should have some plain yoghurt, but worried I’ll throw up.

Greyrockin · 30/08/2024 20:14

Doh! Didn’t mean to quote you @ThirdStorm

QueenOfHiraeth · 30/08/2024 21:49

@Greyrockin I think all you can do is hang in there and keep sipping water.
My understanding is that side effects after injection usually subside within 2-3 days at most.
I have had the weird want to eat but can't face it thing, it reminded me of morning sickness and I did find nibbling little and often helped settle it. It definitely got worse if I was hungry

You’re doing better than I am, I ordered yesterday and it still hasn’t been prescribed. I don’t really want to switch providers but last time it took almost a week to arrive from ordering and it’s a lot of money to spend and then have to wait ages…..

NewLifter · 29/08/2024 21:12

Yes I agree, Curate were really the issue. A lovely poster reassured us that they spoke to Oushk and actually they only prescribe for curate - that's all.

I'm personally not a fan of jumping about, I've ordered my three pens from Zava so far and plan to switch to Oushk and then stay there.

You email a picture of your blue light card to Oushk for £15 off.

Hira posted this when someone questioned her about curate

“I own and manage all aspects of Oushk Pharmacy, overseeing the day-to-day operations and making key decisions that shape our direction and growth. Our customer service and pharmacy only deal with Oushk patients ☺️

Whereas I assist Curate with clinical decisions and oversee their prescribing practices. However, Curate is entirely separate from Oushk, with its own customer service, and fulfilment teams, and I do not have any ownership or operational involvement in their business.”

NewLifter · 31/08/2024 07:11

Thanks for that!

ThirdStorm · 31/08/2024 07:41

@Peggy148 that was my experience at the end of July. I wasn’t sure I wanted to use them again. But others had said it had sped up again so I thought it was worth a go. I have an email from Royal Mail saying it will arrive today so if that happens I’m happy. I hope yours is dispatched quickly.

@BellaCriesAndThatsAlright any update on arrival?

No, still stuck on medicine dispensed. I hope this doesn't mean it's been sitting in a box since Thursday. I'm getting annoyed with them now. I though they had fixed their issues as my last order was quick.

Morning! Official WI today is a whole quarter of a pound. All 113.5g 😟

However, I know I’ve not drunk anywhere near enough this week, I haven’t been eating brilliantly and I’ve been back to the gym after a two week break. Let’s hope for better next week 🤞

SW 14.12
CW 12.4.3/4
Mini Target 11.12

I seem to be averaging half a stone a month so in theory I should get my mini target by the end of September

Edit - it’s monthly weigh and measure time later!

3wDavid · 31/08/2024 10:11

Just a quick check in - after “gaining”
and “losing” the same pound all week (thanks ovulation!), I am now on a 10 day family holiday abroad. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, as the family have no clue I’m on MJ and spending extended periods of time with them makes me want to have a whole bottle of wine. 🙈

Morning everyone. I have been avidly reading these threads all week and so inspired. I have just ordered my first pen. Got a couple of questions:

  1. Has anyone had any anxiety or depression caused by MJ? I tried ozempic last year, first low dose, and felt very low within a couple of days, to the extent that I couldn't face taking another dose. It's amazing as I cannot see anyone mentioning depression in this whole thread, unless I've missed it. (I take a low dose antidepressant).
  2. Because of the above, I want to try 1.25 for the first dose. Is this possible with the MJ pens? can I click half the number of times and take half a dose?
