These are the ones I bought:

https://www.expresschemist.co.uk/bd-micro-fine-insulin-syringes-10-times-1ml.html

Apparently, most chemists sell them or give them away via the needle exchange scheme too.

Thanks - are they 12mm needles? I was wanting to get a shorter one as I am being a bit silly about using them and the shorter the needle the closer it is to what I do at the moment!!

@Slimstar13 that's a lovely update, congratulations Flowers

SnacklessWonder · 30/08/2024 09:02

God, it's a journey isn't it? Had a small dip in weight yesterday but today 1lb heavier meaning I did my 3rd jab of 2.5mg stuck to under 1100 calories rigidly and looks like I may not have a loss at all this week.

I do know I need to keep at it and be consistent and I will but it's maddeningly frustrating! I also know it's not a therapeutic dose so can't wait to get on the 5mg, but with the calorie deficit alone I should be losing!

Rorpethy · 30/08/2024 09:13

30not13 · 30/08/2024 08:00

Yes!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Why do you think we are getting them?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/08/2024 09:15

@CatTraveler think they are the ones I got and they are fine
@30not13 I do a spin class at 7am without breakfast and have been ok
@Slimstar13 congrats on getting into the 15s! Very exciting!!!

Yes, I really don’t understand this. I’ve posted before saying that I’d be losing 1.5lb a week off Mj eating what I’m eating now, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it this long without cracking through hunger and bingeing. I know Mj slows down food passing through the stomach but it all gets through eventually! It’s a mystery to me and not one I’m finding particularly rewarding at the minute.

Well said! It works the other way too- you can be losing on the scales but not seeing any actual measurement changes at all. Personally I’d rather stall and shrink than lose and measure the same.

SnacklessWonder · 30/08/2024 10:33

Thanks @Slimstar13 and that does all make perfect sense. I am trusting the process, it's just frustrating when you've been super good and you don't seem to be getting any results!

@Addictedtobeauty I should have measured from the outset as I have nothing to compare too but maybe I'll give it a week or two and try on some of the clothes that have been feeling a bit tighter recently 😐 as that will be an indication if anything is changing!

SnacklessWonder · 30/08/2024 10:38

Anyway on another topic, I need to think about dinner tonight. I've been eating a lot of salad and don't feel like I can face that again tonight 😆 I want something that feels more 'special' but within calories still. Anyone got any good ideas?

Last week I had a skinny burger with cheese in a Warburtons thin which was not bad but the burgers were a bit dry. And seemingly, I no longer like chips 😦One of my favourite foods...but they literally taste like nothing now, so that makes life easier!

Pinkbendyman · 30/08/2024 10:45

Congratulations @Slimstar13 that’s amazing news 🎉🏅👏🥳

Addictedtobeauty · 30/08/2024 10:48

What about fillet steak with cauliflower mash and green beans. Feels luxurious. Easy.

@Trebol I found this image on Reddit about what the pen looks like after each dose. I think your pen looks more like the "After 1 Dose" image than the "After 2 Doses" image. Hopefully your provider will be able to confirm. When you primed did any liquid come out?

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 30/08/2024 11:03

@Trebol no. That looks like a full pen to me! After 2 doses the plunger should be at the first markwe line. Google mounjaro plunger position after each dose and there's a pic

supadupapupascupa · 30/08/2024 11:06

Snozzlemaid · 30/08/2024 00:48

My GP has received a letter each time a pen has been prescribed for me, so there are 4 now in the documents section on my NHS app.
One was MedExpress and the other three Zava.

Boots haven't sent my gp anything!
She's aware though because I discussed beforehand. And I have a follow up booked with her

Interesting @Slimstar13 I have been craving a bit of gravy!

@Forevafatty
I asked Care Pharmacy about maintenance and they said this about 6 weeks ago. I have a lot to lose and things are changing all the time so I’ve just gone with it.

Thank you - that's really useful, if a bit disappointing. I've got over 3 and a half stone to go though, so things might change before then. I've just ordered from them and was hoping to stat there now, so I hope so!

I suppose you can't just switch to a new provider for maintenance once you've reached a healthy weight?

I can’t see why not; you would have evidence of your previous prescriptions. Why wouldn’t they want the business? After all, a prescriber could go bust and anyone on maintenance with them would be looking for a new home…
