I ordered from Med Exp last Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered on Thursday, about 48 hours after ordering. No photos etc required when you are an existing customer. They have certainly upped their game from a month ago.

Boots update. I got my pen last night. 9 days after ordering & 1 days late for injection. Relieved to have it. Pharmacist said there was a delay as it’s now v popular. On 5mg.

Thanks for this! I'm using Boots and on 5mg so I'll order it slightly earlier than I usually do.

Bas16 · 28/08/2024 13:02

Hi all,
Zava have really upped their game! Approved yesterday and arrived today…. In a cool bag that you would put your lunch in! Nice wee freebie!
however, on inspecting pen there seems to be a few bubbles in it. Is this normal? I am scared of injecting air bubbles, I’ve never seen them sitting in a pen like this before…. I don’t feel priming would get rid of these ….

Thanks to everyone for the MedExpress updates, I wasn't sure if I wanted to order again due to the last time taking over a week to process and arrive but I think I'm going to order today for a Friday delivery!

SwimingSummer · 28/08/2024 13:11

@Bas16 if you flick the pen with needle end at top end and prime it the bubbles should go. My first pen had air bubbles it was fine they went

Yeh, normal. Prime before injection. Also harmless because you inject subcutaneously not venously.

Bas16 · 28/08/2024 13:55

Thanks all - puts my mind at rest!!

Hold the pen upright. Tap it with the nail on your finger. The bubbles will rise to the top and you will see a drop of medicine come out of the tip of the needle. Move one click and press to fully prime.

Medexpress order delivered, ice had melted somewhat but still cold enough!
4 days in total from order to delivery (new customer so had to provide proof of previous prescriptions) including a bank holiday too. 7.5mg pen exp date 04/2025
Saved a lot of money so thanks for the recommendations.

I’m intrigued, has anyone lied about their BMI to get MJ?

Hopefully not.

SilenceInside · 28/08/2024 18:15

I hope not too. Responsible prescribers should be very alert to this possibility and request enough information and evidence to rule this out.

What silenceinside said.

It's not for people who aren't obese. It's horrible when you're overweight and can see the direction you're heading in but it's easier to put the breaks on that crazy train before you get to obesity, than it is to get to obese and then have these medications that cost hundreds each month.

I know I'd rather spend that money doing something fun with my son but I also want to be able to play chase with him without feeling like I'm having a cardiac event and my knees are exploding.

Once you are obese it's significantly harder to get back to a healthier BMI which is why MJ is so helpful for us.

I hope nobody tries to fib their way to this medication when they can just follow the bariatrics dieting advice, make sure they're having a balanced diet, meeting their dietary needs and requirements and talking to their doctors about other options before they reach a hard sticking point.

MJ isn't a fancy fix all, you still have to put the work in.

I have read on other forums on the Internet with people saying they have done / planning on doing this yes.

I it is an incredibly dangerous and silly thing to do, anyone planning it please dont.

I imagine the online pharmacies have got wise to this now, hence most now asking for a full length photo of yourself and proof of ID upon initial consultation.

ThirdStorm · 28/08/2024 18:58

I repeat ordered with MedExpress at 5.15pm today and I just checked status and prescription already approved! Back to normal service like others have said.

Eyf · 28/08/2024 19:01

Whilst fibbing is obviously wrong I am not sure why those with a BMI of 29 (with no extra issues) can’t have it but a BMI of 30 can. I don’t think it suddenly becomes dangerous below 30 as there’s plenty of people taking it with BMIs below this.

I know someone who buys Semaglatide off their cousins mate. 🙈

SilenceInside · 28/08/2024 19:05

Well, a person with a bmi of 29 is not obese and isn't going to have the long term risks that someone who is obese has. Someone with a BMI of 30 is obese. There has to be a cut off point where the risks of the injections outweigh the risks of staying at the same weight. I don't think it's unreasonable to put that at BMI 30.

(People with weight related health conditions, or I think some specific ethnic groups can get the injections at a BMI of under 30 which seems sensible to me).

If there is widespread prescription fraud then I can see there being much tighter restrictions and regulations about prescribing privately online. It may move to in person only.

poppym12 · 28/08/2024 19:15

I wish I'd gone with MedExpress. My order is still processing with Cloud. First time using they so I hope it turns up.

imnottoofussed · 28/08/2024 19:34

I've had no problems with cloud. Ordered yesterday being delivered tomorrow

I actually preferred their old packaging, my first two pens felt cold, this one didn't!

Air bubbles aren't a concern in a sub cut injection. Pruning is to ensure you get exactly the right dose and that the pen and needle are functioning.

I understand your thinking but honestly risk of a medication has to outsweigh the benefit and given that yourent obese, it doesn't for you.

Remember, none of us can really know for sure if MJ is actually safe for us to take. But we are willing to take the chance as we know the risks of obesity.

Oh I get there’s a cut off. I just don’t think it’s suddenly dangerous below 30 which is one some people imply.

And if some people can stay on it for life at a healthy weight than I don’t really see why people in the overweight category couldn’t try to use it to get in to the healthy BMI range.

Eyf · 28/08/2024 19:41

Also I wonder what the difference is with the the increased risks (stroke, heart attack, cancer risks) between the BMI ranges.

Thanks. I’m not referring to me but I’m seeing a few people making up BMI’s to get MJ and wondered if it was quite common…

NewLifter · 28/08/2024 19:45

Apologies, I shouldn't have assumed it was for you!
