I took the bonus dose from my 2.5mg pen 42 days after starting the pen. This was back in April when there has been less discussion about how long you could use a pen for. It still suppressed my appetite and I had no issues.

Everyone has a personal appetite for risk and makes their own choices based on that. But I don't think the medicine becomes toxic on day 31 and, from my own experience, I know it doesn't stop working. I would try to use a pen suited to my dose so it does get used up within 30 days but if it went a bit over 30 days I would use it again rather than throw it away.

I'm on a little holiday this week away from the scales. Decided to stick to 5mg this week and bump it up next week.

There are no scales here so I've just got to trust my eyes.

I've noticed today that the pre-printed expiry date on the actual box for my pen delivered this week says April 2025 but the prescription label that Voy have stuck on with my name etc lists an expiry date of Nov 24, which is 5 months earlier. Does anyone understand this? Surely it expires when the manufacturer says and not before?

I could kind of understand it if it was one of the batches where Eli Lilly have extended the use by but this is going the other way - Voy are shortening the use by compared to what Eli Lilly have recorded.

I’m off on a business trip for 2 weeks - Australia and Japan. They both have really strict laws on meds. Has anyone had any experience of putting MJ in hold luggage? It would be my bonus dose so will be travelling with a syringe. Just worried as I have a box with a pharmacy label but no actual prescription.

I ordered from MedExpress on Friday and they’ve despatched this morning, for anyone wondering about current timings.

Isn't there a risk it would freeze, long haul, in the hold?

Apparently it doesn’t get quite that cold - otherwise all liquids would freeze eg. Contact lens solution. But happy to be told I’m wrong.

I recently bought 5 pens in my hold luggage through to a very strict country in the Middle East. No issues, went through security in London with them in see through plastic bags. Wasn't asked to get them out at all entering destination country.
If you have the sticker on the boxes with your name I would have thought it would be fine.
If you are concerned possibly email your pharmacist and ask them to email you a copy of the prescription to screen shot too?
I kept them in my son's lunchbox with an ice pack and took some of the instant freeze cool packs with me (for first aid kits) in case I got delayed!

I’m travelling with work colleagues and manager so don’t want to be flashing my pen in a clear plastic bag through security!

2.2mls would be nearly 4 weeks dosage.

I think @Jpeg24 is wanting to inject 6.5mg but is anticipating only getting 3.3mg from the remaining 0.4ml approx of her "standard" doses. She'll then have 0.6ml plus a little extra left in the pen. Of that, to get 3.2mg (which would be what you'd need to make up to 6.5mg if you have 3.5mg to start with) you would need 3.2/5x0.6 so 0.384 - i.e. just under another 0.4ml of liquid.

It says that you shouldn't put them in the hold because of the risk of freezing. Same as at the back of the fridge but generally planes are pressurised and at a maintained temperature so don't generally freeze. (I worked in air cargo/logistics!)

You wouldn't be flashing it. It would be in a bag with your lipstick, hand sanitizer, hand cream and whatever else you choose to take on a flight. The pen is grey not neon yellow. Are your colleagues that nosey?

You can always try to get into a different queue at security as well.

It goes in a bag with all your liquids, your colleagues won't be poking through it I'm sure! Your medication is none of their business.

That's very weird! A mistake perhaps? Will you use it up before November anyway?

I emailed Oushk a question earlier and got a reply already!!! I'm definitely sold ❤️ really excited to move over. I've still a few referral codes left for Zava but I'm not bothered about losing them tbh - the funny thing was I shared it here ages ago when someone asked for one but I wrote that I don't think they are that great, 6 people used it anyway. Must have appreciated the honestly 😂

Question. I need to order my second pen this week. How do I KNOW whether to move up to 5mg or not? Everyone says 2.5mg is not a therapeutic dose so why would I stay on it? I do have food suppression though I am still feeling really hungry all the time, and I am losing (7.6lb in 13 days - official two week weigh-in tomorrow morning).

@SnacklessWonder I'm wondering the same. Juniper emailed to say that they're about to send me my second pen, presumably it's a 5mg per their usual protocol but I'm not sure I need to go up either. Losing weight, nice suppression, minimal side effects. Waiting for their reply ...

I chose to follow protocol at the initial stage, ie move up after the first pen. I figured if I was going to stay on a dose longer term, it would be better to be a therapeutic dose. I stayed on 5mg for 2 pens.
I knew I’d be really annoyed if I stayed on 2.5mg and it stopped working for me after the first dose of my second pen, as it would be a huge waste of money!

Yeah, I think that's what I am thinking @ItsAlrightDarling so I might go to 5mg and I guess if it's too much I have the option to go back down. I don't really want to waste £150 on another 2.5mg and find it's not working for me.

I was the same! I went for a 5mg pen and did my first jab Friday and I’ve been fine.

I would love to take MedEx up on their offers but they don’t prescribe to people to have had previous bariatric surgery. 🙄

They all seem to have their own rules for the exact same medication which confuses me a little!

Yes I've just used the bonus dose on my first pen so I'll start using this pen next week. So it's not a problem for me, just a bit confusing and weird. I guess it probably is a typo when they've done the prescription label.

Currently at the start of week 11 and am on start of 2nd 5mg pen (and have been loosing nice and steadily)...at the moment I can't imagine going up to 7.5mg as I'm currently only just managing to eat enough so probs right at the sweet spot of suppression.

Only problem is I ordered a 7.5mg a week or so ago 🙈

Think I'm going to have to order another 5mg as I don't think I would be able to eat enough on 7.5mg.

It's really odd the last two weeks I've felt the effects really strongly I think I'm definitely getting the effects of the meds building up in myself system.

I am currently with med express but think I might switch to Oushk ...does anyone know what the delivery is like with them ?

I felt exactly the same at the start of my second 5mg pen (I even went back down to 3.75mg for a bit as the suppression was so strong) but 2-3 weeks into that pen the effects definitely started to wear off and I did end up going to 7.5mg.
