I'm rather envious of you 'side-effect free' lot! I still am stuck on 3.75mg and can't imagine increasing 😂 I'm getting excellent suppression. Very tired this week but hoping that's just due to it being a busy week, hoping it will lift. Burpy today 🙈 keen to see how tomorrow goes as I've been getting an awful tummy 48 hrs post injection (Saturdays) since my 'bonus dose'. Had my 4th 3.75mg this week.

Have about a stone to go so I'm expecting to not go above 5mg, if I even make it to there 🙈

I wonder why some are more sensitive to it than others.

NewLifter · 23/08/2024 19:15

Slimstar, you're incredible!!

Alwayshockey · 23/08/2024 19:40

I finished my first 2.5 pen last week so took the bonus dose this evening. Used a syringe as I wanted to know how much it was - 0.75 ml which i think makes a 3.125 dose. I've hoped it would be more like 3.75 as a lot of people get but I think I was a bit heavy handed on the priming and also tonight when I was making sure I'd not got air in the syringe I released more of it than I meant to. But it's still a bridging dose of sorts and saves me some money so I'm pleased.

IGmjdoesmj · 23/08/2024 19:49

Just to add my two pence in... I also received a 10mg today from ME with an 04/25 expiry x

Forevafatty · 23/08/2024 19:55

Aaaaaah I could cry - can anyone help please? Due to a miscommunication, my well-meaning DH thought I wanted my brand new pen bringing on holiday, so took it out of the fridge and into the bottom of a bag where it has remained unrefrigerated all week 😭. I've only just discovered this and have now put it in the fridge again. The holiday was only in the UK so it wasn't hot, but even so ...is it usable? He's offered to replace it but I need it for tomorrow, and also the thought of binning £140 makes me feel sick!

NewLifter · 23/08/2024 19:57

It's likely fine though ideally should be used with 30 days of removal from the fridge as far as I know? So maybe think about not using it for the 5th dose.

I took mine on a UK holiday and kept it out of the fridge so I plan on making sure I don't use it past day 30.

ItsAlrightDarling · 23/08/2024 19:58

It’ll be fine if you use it within 30 days of it coming out of the fridge.

NewLifter · 23/08/2024 19:10

I listened to the live by Oushk recently and they said the expiry is still very short for 12.5 and 15 😔

Did they say why the expiry date is so short on these pens? Considering the 7.5 and 10 expire April 25?

CandiedPrincess · 23/08/2024 20:59

@Alwayshockey What syringe and needle do you use

butterfly0404 · 23/08/2024 21:06

Snozzlemaid · 23/08/2024 15:36

No problems here taking 5mg either.

I am reasonably OK on 5, in fact it was 2.5 that I had the worse side effects snd the most weight loss...go figure !

Alwayshockey · 23/08/2024 21:11

CandiedPrincess · 23/08/2024 20:59

@Alwayshockey What syringe and needle do you use

I got the ones that used to be linked to in the first post on these threads. Now if you click the link in the first post on this thread to the website someone made collating all the thread info, the link is in that. I worried slightly that the syringe needle would be much longer or difficult to use but it wasn't.

Eyf · 23/08/2024 21:15

Is it ZAVA who will cut you off when you get to 25 BMI!?

Don’t know but it’s becoming really evident what a wide range of responses there are, isn’t it. I’ll return your envy; I want to be like you and experience this suppression! Yes please! In the meantime I’ll keep trudging onwards and very slightly downwards…!

Hellijoy · 24/08/2024 04:46

First time posting on this thread but I’ve been reading in the background - well done to all the loses and NSVs.

Week 12 weigh in!

SW: 86.9kg
GW1: 70kg
GW2: 64kg

2.5mg
Wk1: 82.4kg (-4.5kg)
Wk2: 80.5kg (-1.9kg)
Wk3: 79.9kg (-0.6kg)
Wk4: 78.6kg (-1.3kg)
Wk5: 77.6kg (-1kg)
Wk6: 77.6kg (-)

3.75mg
Wk7: 76.3kg (-1.3kg)
Wk8: 75.7kg (-0.6kg)
Wk9: 75.1kg (-0.6kg)
Wk10: 74.5kg (-0.6kg)
Wk11: 73.4kg (-1.1kg)
Wk12: 72.4kg (-1kg)

14.5kg lost total or 32lbs.

I’m currently very happy on 3.75 (I use a 5mg pen and 45 clicks) so will continue on this dose until it stops being as effective!

No, but I assume it's because there's been less demand for the higher doses? I'm really not sure!

LittleTalkingMan · 24/08/2024 05:31

Eyf · 23/08/2024 15:08

Just took my first 5mg dose! Worried now about side effects.. read horror stories on social media about 5mg! Can someone please reassure me I’m not about to keel over 😆

Just finished 5mg the only “side effect” was losing a stone. Down 2st

Asthenia · 24/08/2024 06:53

Hello everyone! I’ve been making my way through the previous threads but am still only a few pages into thread 3 and my first dose of Mounjaro is being delivered today.
I never thought I’d do anything like this but I’m 33 and weigh 25.5st/162kg/357lbs. I’ve been fat my whole life since childhood, managed to lose 3.5st during Covid getting down to 18st, but have piled 7.5st back on since getting pregnant 3 years ago. I’m quite tall at 5”11 but I’m still hugely overweight and I’m sick of it. I’ve tried so hard since November last year with calorie counting and consistent exercise But I’ve only managed to shift half a stone. It’s not enough and I’m hoping to use Mounjaro as a helping hand.
My knees and back hurt and I have fatty liver. I’m desperate to get my weight under control and develop healthy eating habits. I feel ashamed it’s come to this but my doctor was lovely when I consulted him about taking meds and said there are so many factors at play with obesity and he’s been doing research in the field for 30 years and it’s more complicated than we could ever imagine.
Very long first message, sorry - but am looking forward to starting and seeing everyone else’s progress is very inspiring!

diian · 24/08/2024 07:58

Welcome @Asthenia and good luck on your weight loss journey. We are here to help and support each other. Feel free to share your triumphs or rant! Reading through the previous threads will be very beneficial; there is so much good advice and anecdotal information about how these injections work and affect different people.

NewLifter · 24/08/2024 08:07

Hey guys, as far as I'm concerned, I'm now 'overweight' 🤩

I haven't had a chance to check my height though after being told I'm 3cm smaller than I thought - so I'm staying in denial 😂

Good on you for making the decision to go for it!!!

I fully understand that feeling of thinking it's too late to sort this, but it's really not. The benefit of MJ is that it looks like we can stay on it long term as maintaining your loss will be harder than losing it!

I was 20 stone in 2019 for the 2nd time in my life (lost 8 stone back in 2008) and it crept back over the years from 2016).

I got back down to 12 stone 12 which is my happy weight but gained some back over the last year due to injury and stress (got back to 16 stone).

I've realised I need MJ in my life long-term, possibly forever.

I'm now 13 stone 13 so a stone off my goal weight. Honestly couldn't have done this without MJ (yes I've done it before but I've a lot more going on in my life now and I'm 40!).

All the best of luck and I hope you enjoy these threads.

MounjaroMunchie · 24/08/2024 08:20

Morning! It's the week 8 weigh in for me today.

SW - 12st 7.0lb
CW - 11st 4.8lb
Total loss - 16.2lbs

So still averaging out at roughly 2lb per week. Not going to lie, I would love it to be faster, but I know that 2lb per week is a healthy loss, and a bit more likely to stay off longer term.

I've had the 4th dose from my 5mg pen and will use the bonus dose next week. I've got my next pen ready to go and have decided I will be sticking with 5mg for now - it's working well, the effect is lasting the full week and apart from a little blip last weekend, I've been able to eat without issues.

I'm 5 weeks into a lifting programme at the gym and really enjoying it. I'm working towards progressive overload and have already been able to increase my woekoit volume by 27% in that time, lifting between 4 and 5 tonnes per session, depending on whether it's upper or lower body being worked.

Overall, I'm feeling good!

guestusername · 24/08/2024 08:24

Morning!

WI day today. I had 3 slices of pizza last night so wasn’t expecting much but another 2lbs off this week 😀 that’s despite feeling like crap for two days. It also means that I’ve hit 2.5 stone off. My target was to get to this point by the end of August so now I start trying for my next target

SW/BMI 14.12 / 32.6
CW/BMI 12.5 / 27.1
Next target 11.12

Edited to add - total loss so far - 35lbs

I have just realised that I’m only 12lbs away from a healthy BMI! For so long, a healthy BMI has been nothing more than wishful thinking. Now it’s starting to peep over the horizon 😀

NewLifter · 24/08/2024 08:36

@guestguestusername amazing job, healthy BMI - wow!

@mounjaromunchie - sounds amazing,I love the sound of the weights programme. Great losses!

3wDavid · 24/08/2024 08:48

It’s happened! And a day earlier!!! I’ve lost 3 stone in 3 months (minus a day).

SW (May 25) : 16 st 12.5 lbs / 236.5 lbs / 107.2 kg
CW (Aug 24) : 13 st 12.5 lbs / 194.5 lbs / 88.2 kg

I have another 2-3 stone to go, so nowhere near done with this journey, but for the first time in my adult life it feels possible.

ObsidianTree · 24/08/2024 08:52

Weigh day for me today. 2lbs loss. Currently weigh 12st 6lbs. That makes 5st loss since starting dieting in Jan.

BMI 26.4! 10lbs to go to BMI 25! 2lbs to go to get to the weight I was when I met my husband 12+ years ago. My next goal will be 11st 7lbs which is the lowest weight I got to in my 20s. Will probably aim for 10st/10.7lbs after that as I would like to see my body slim for once in my life! Weird thought!

SW Jan: 17st 6lbs
SW MJ Feb: 16st 3lbs
CW: 12st 6lbs
