2 questions please 😬

So done two months on 5mg and ordered pen the other day to go to 7.5 but dopey here did it very late n ordered another fricking 5. Already dispatched so can't change. Could I do 3 doses of 6 and 1 of 7ish so no 5th/bonus dose? If so could I jab a full dose then straight away click to get the 1mg and use same needle?? I know it wouldn't be ideal but I legit can't afford to order some currently.

And the 5 is worn off now by day 4. I have a bonus dose in this pen. Could I take it forward two days??

Thanks 😊

@SnacklessWonder it must be a really frustrating way to start your journey.

All of that hard work will be having an impact though, it may just be taking longer to show on the scales. I know a lot of people on here have found that the recent hot weather has meant extra fluid retention.

My journey has been very slow, and I've had big long stalls along the way despite doing everything right, the mental struggle has been the hardest part. But somehow I've still lost 3 stone so far (just shy of five months).

Good luck with your journey. I hope things pick up for you.

Yeah I understand that - and I'm not expecting it to but even without MJ, I am in a decent calorie deficit so in theory should be losing on that alone. I usually do. I've not gone over my calories in over 11 days but not lost in 7 days.

Embrace the stall - its where the magic happens

Small NSV today
Hospital appt with gastroenterology and I was weighed and had BP taken. My once very high BP has stabilised to 135/80 amd I was a kilo lighter, fully clothed wearing jeans in the hospital scales than my own scales.

Officially 76.5 kg, down from 84.7, 8.2 kg loss in 9 weeks, not huge but slow and steady.

It's been a long time since I've posted but I need help / advice!

Have been bumbling along just fine, few lbs a week loss etc and no major issues. Currently on 10mg.

Occasionally have a few gastro side effects a few days after I take my jab, but of nausea but it always resolves. Obviously I know the side effects from the drug and nothing unexpected.

This week (and this is my question). Jab last Saturday as normal. Monday had something that really didn't agree with me (despite me ordering the smallest plate, only eating half and removing batter etc) Explosive diarrhoea that night - as expected. All night. But then it has continued since then. Every day and every night. Barely eaten anything. Any water just goes straight through me.

Has anyone had this? Where something has set you off and it's lasted days and days?

Normally for me it's just a few hours after the meal then I'm ok.

My bum is sooo sore and bleeding a bit now and I'm starting to feel quite weak..

Is this a side effect or is this something else??

How are you now? If this is continuing you really do need medical advice. Have you tried immodium?

Weigh in and measurements day for me today, week 22.
SW: 12.6.6
CW: 9.11.8
IGW 9.7.00

MJ loss 36.9 lbs!! That's unbelievable 😀
I lost a few pounds before MJ, so including that I've lost a total of 42.5lbs.

Starting measurements:
Waist 36"
Hips 42.5"
Bust 41"
Thigh 24"

Current measurements:
Waist 30"
Hips 37"
Bust 38"
Thigh 21"

Overall a loss of 17.5".

I still don't feel that small though. My mind has yet to catch up. I'm now in a comfortable size 12 jeans (that is with an inch of room around the waist). I have bought a couple of pairs of size 10 which I can wear, but are a little tight around the waist for now. I held a pair up, and looked at the TINY waist, and can't believe that they actually go onto my body.

Staying at 7.5mg for now, taking 45 clicks from a 10mg pen. I'm finding that I have one week with minimal loss, and the next with a higher loss. Average loss per week is 1.75lbs which I'm happy with. Slow and steady.

Congrats to all on losses and NSVs, commiserations to those on stalls. Keep going, it's all working under the number on the scales.

You've done amazing! That sounds tiny to me! Well done ⭐

You really shouldn't use the same needle - that's not a good idea. Spare needles are only a few pounds.

Otherwise, yes everything you've suggested should work ok.

It happens, lots of us have been there. I weigh in every weekend and only lose weight on two of those weigh ins. The other two are maintains / slight gain. Then the week after I have a big loss. I seem to retain water for a while round my period but also mid cycle at ovulation. So I've just had to accept that I need to be patient to see the losses.

I've still lost 21lbs since I started MJ at the end of June.

Paperwhite13 · 23/08/2024 06:24

Yesterday was the first time I've had greasy food and alcohol since starting Mounjaro (end of June) it was all within my daily calories and a v-small portion.

I've been up since 4am with horrendous D&V. I won't be doing that again anytime soon.

Well done to all the scale and NSVs this week!

NewLifter · 23/08/2024 06:26

Yes that happened to me too, I had a kids portion of fish and chips and ended up with the worst diarrhea and tummy pain 😭 hope you feel better soon!

Timeturnerplease · 23/08/2024 07:12

@summerlovingvibes Have you tried Co-codamol for the diarrhoea? I had horrendous liquid diarrhoea every week for about three months on 2.5/5/7.5mg and a combination of Imodium and co-codamol made it so I could still work.

TheRoseShaker · 23/08/2024 07:41

I binged last night - had nearly a large bag of mixed nuts, I dread to think how many calories Blush thank heavens it's injection day, second 7.5mg. I've lost almost 10kg in 8 weeks so far, luckily not had any tummy trouble

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 23/08/2024 07:49

I can't believe how much my taste buds have changed already! I used to love an activia yoghurt for breakfast (obvs with tons of fruit and honey because that's "healthy" right?). Having one now as it's the only brand I recognised in the supermarket and it's SO sweet it's almost unbearable

MountKilimounjaro · 23/08/2024 07:57

@TheRoseShaker I think binge eating nuts is a good sign! Loads of protein, fibre, good fats, vitamins....your body will be thanking you. I'm sure over the week it won't impact your overall deficit meaningfully.

Now how can I justify that pack of Smarties I decided I really wanted yesterday??

Haha thank you, it could have been worse I guess! Have the smarties! We do need to treat ourselves now and again Grin

MountKilimounjaro · 23/08/2024 08:17

@TheRoseShaker I did indeed have the Smarties. Didn't finish them though, way too sweet.

I'm adopting the French attitude of having a little of what I fancy and it seems to be working.

I definitely couldn't have done that pre-Mounjaro. I'd assign feelings of guilt to food or go overboard and overeat.

Now I have something lovely and just think 'oh that was nice' and then move on. Also I seem to be enjoying food for the taste/texture rather than the feelings of 'comfort' I got before.

So many years of disordered thinking and eating to unpack! Love that Mounjaro is giving us all the time and space to do that.

WitchyBits · 23/08/2024 08:38

@Ifyounevergiveup

Is certainly been weird and unusual. The first 48 hours of gastric upset were by far the worst. I was uncomfortable in the day time with cramps etc but at night I was constantly on the toilet, bum on the loo and head in the sink. I've been able to eat and drink no problem but it goes straight through in a 10-15 minute cycle. I did make a huge pan of bone broth so that's definitely helped me a fair bit with staying hydrated and more normal. Last night is the first night I've slept all night and not needed the loo so thought I'd turned a corner but just been the loo and my stomach is still really off. God knows.

16st3 lb this morning and I was 17st4 on the 9th August. Diana's is convinced it's the mounjaro refusing to allow my guts to get back to normal and he could be right. It was definitely a big to start with but I've never ever had a bug last more than 24 hours in my entire life.

One benefit is I'm actually getting used to the extreme hollow/hungry feeling and ( never thought I'd say this) it's actually a bit.... liberating? Pleasant? Very odd

@WitchyBits ooh I remember that from years ago when I starved myself and got down to 11.4. I remember saying to a friend that I quite liked the feeling of being empty! So glad you seem to be turning a corner. Who knew Mj would slow down bugs as well as digestion?!

Eyf · 23/08/2024 08:56

Weigh day for me today. Down 2.8lbs ☺️

also my first day of 5mg, wish me luck!

Paperwhite13 · 23/08/2024 09:06

Thanks @NewLifter it was a kids fish and chips portion for me too! I am feeling a lot better though.

Congrats @Slimstar13! I agree that it's the lack of "treat yourself" that's made a huge impact on me too. 💪🏼

SnacklessWonder · 23/08/2024 09:14

Finally saw some movement on the scales today after a week. Only 0.5lb but I was starting to think they were jammed. Official 'weekly' weigh-in is Monday so hoping that they might go down again by then...

Dose 3 of 2.5mg on Sunday and then I shall order pen 2 and move up to 5mg.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 23/08/2024 09:28

I haven't done a weigh in for a while but I had a little whoosh this morning so here it is 🙂

SW 214.8lbs
CW 185.5lbs
GW 147lbs

I've just been away camping for the weekend so I'm really pleased that I have managed to lose 3lbs this week after stalling for 3 weeks.

NSV - My husband took a picture of me from behind walking with the kids and I looked much less fat than last year! Delighted!

My next pen will be 7.5mg which I'm happy about because the surpression is definitely not working as well as it was. I can also order another one and I don't know whether to get another 7.5 or a 10. I have a couple of 7.5 in my fridge.

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 23/08/2024 09:29

@Slimstar13 that's amazing! Progress like this makes me happy. Well done to everyone 🙂
