Whoop well done @MountKilimounjaro thats brilliant this med really is life changing for so many of us. I’ve had a stall week and tried hard to focus on the ease at which I’ve maintained this week instead of the frustration & hit of joy I’d been getting as the numbers on the scale dropped. I was expecting it to stall as I’m at the weight I was 4-5yrs ago that I maintained after a previous weight loss effort.

LadyJaneEarlGreyTea · 16/08/2024 06:31

Help! Has anyone got any advice for me? I have been on MJ for a few months, I stuck on 2.5mg for two months before moving up to 5mg. I didn’t notice any side effects. When I put my order in for 7.5 mg Med Express took a week to deliver it, which was a disaster as it arrived after I had gone away on holiday for a week. So after missing a week I took the 7.5mg, everything seemed fine for the first couple of days but for the last three days I have had a catastrophically bad stomach. I have been trapped in the house, even drinking has caused problems. Will this pass soon or should I abandon MJ now?

SilverHeels · 16/08/2024 06:32

@MountKilimounjaro that’s amazing and so happy the weight is shifting again. Well done on the amazing loss.

You gave me a good talking to when I needed it and it really helped thank you . Your explanations about stalling really help and I think you are totally correct. It helps very much with this journey to have the support we have here.

Good morning, a wee 1.5 off for me 🤩

A question for the maintenance MJ users, do most suppliers support maintenance? I want to switch from Voy and once I switch I'd like to keep with the one pharmacy. Xx

Fromthesidelines · 16/08/2024 07:18

Congrats @MountKilimounjaro. Love the body needing a rest framing which I'm now adopting during my own current stall!

BondiTree · 16/08/2024 07:36

Weigh day for me, down 3lb this week, but the best bit… no diarrhoea all week!!!! I’m on week 23 and this is the first week since week 5 that I’ve not had diarrhoea! I feel human!

Looking for advice.

I need to order a new pen today. I'm currently on 7.5 and have been moving up the doses as standard. Side effects have been minimal but am in a bit of a stall currently as I'm at a previous set point. Generally though, weight loss has been of the slow and steady type, which I'm happy with. I go on my first solo holiday at the beginning of October.

So I'm torn between staying on 7.5 for another month or moving up to 10. 10 might help me move beyond the stall and help me lose a bit more before my holiday. On the other hand, I have a long way to go still to get to a healthy BMI and don't want to leave myself with nowhere to go too soon on the journey. I'm also thinking about sustainability and wonder whether my current ability to eat healthily and moderately even while on mj but still having to make conscious decisions about intake might help with long term maintenance.

Thoughts or experiences? Thanks.

MountKilimounjaro · 16/08/2024 08:03

Thank you everyone for your very kind words.

I'm glad I was able to help @SilverHeels it always makes me so sad when people are in stalls and beating themselves up about it.

@Fromthesidelines I'm not sure how accurate the science is but it definitely helps mentally.

To answer your question on 7.5mg: I did a second pen at 7.5mg, I wished I'd got a 10mg about halfway through as I went it to a significant stall, so increased my dose by counting extra clicks (messed it up but that's a different story). I definitely prefer being on 10mg and have just started my second 10mg pen, planning on staying with this dose for as long as it keeps me at a steady pace.

Obviously everyone is different.

The first post on this thread contains the information about different suppliers policies. They vary so pick one that suits you. The maintenance policy was the reason I went with Bolt

Well. The first week is done and honestly I'm a bit in shock and things don't feel real. The jab has messed with my sleep and I haven't #2 properly all week. I think my brain has been confused between Hungry and full signals my entire life as I've spent most of the first4-5 days of week feeling ravenous and then eating a bit and then feeling worse... so I genuinely think both hunger and fullness feel the same for me and that's how I've got into this mess. I've not adopted a policy of eating at set times and trying my best to stick to it. Either way I've done something right.

Week 1

Gw- 70kg

GoSummer676 · 16/08/2024 08:51

Well done @WitchyBits definetly keep your water -fluids high that helps with slow bowels I drink a lot plus focus on healthy small meals regularly works for me. Lots of advice on here for ways to help bowls move I hope it works out for you. This drug really is life changing in helping to reframe your relationship with food. My DH & DD1 both see and use food as fuel whereas my other DD2 is wired like me and it’s emotional definitely triggered by how our hormones work. I’m trying hard now to see food as fuel and get my rewards in other ways.

I've noticed the same thing re hunger and fullness!!! I'll think I feel hungry but then take a second and realise it's actually fullness!

I think if you're not able to even drink water you should probably ask for some medical help, eg 111 or your GP, or even your online prescriber of the injections.

In terms of whether you should inject the 7.5mg again, I think that's also a question for a HCP.

Choux · 16/08/2024 09:01

I'm with Bolt too. I got my first order in March with them then chased the MedExpress and ZAVA discount codes before going back to Bolt to avoid warm pens and get with a supplier for maintenance as close to a healthy BMI now.

They have been very responsive to orders and queries so I am very happy with them.

That sounds awful. If you miss a week, you should go back to 2.5mg. I would do that if you decide to continue (20 clicks of your 7.5mg pen). Can you get in touch with your prescriber for advice?

guestusername · 16/08/2024 09:48

Last nights meal out was, um, interesting. I had one person tell me that I looked like I’d lost loads of weight and looked good for it! This person isn’t on my list of people to admit MJ to as she’s only 21 and I don’t want her thinking that it would be the best method for her, not while she’s got youth on her side and just needs to look at a diet plan to lose weight 😂

I was horrified though at the amount of food on folks plates 😟 we were at a carvery type place and what they were eating in one meal would have lasted me a week! Having said that, my suppression is near 100% which is clearly causing me to be a food judgypants 😂 Funny thing is, my pre MJ portions would have been equal if not more than what they had. I ordered a kids meal but they came out with a full size meal which I couldn’t eat more than a few mouthfuls of

SnacklessWonder · 16/08/2024 10:19

@WitchyBits I'm the same - feeling very hungry but then can't eat much at all, or don't want to. I think 'hungry' is my perpetual state which is why I am overweight!

Today is a challenge, first time since having the jab that I won't be able to monitor calories and will have to listen to my body instead, which might be difficult as my second jab is due Sunday so I assume it's waning now, as I definitely feel hungrier today.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 16/08/2024 10:25

Took my pen technically on time from last week, but I seem to have migrated from a Tuesday injection to a Friday injection day.

Thank God I don't have to take the pill that's all I can say about that.

104.05kg today, horribly backed up though. Found some prune juice in the fridge, poured myself a glass, had a mouthful and it was clear it had gone through some sort of fermentation process so did not finish.

Got a day out at a nature/water park today so I'm hoping all the running around helps things move.

Looks like we might be on a new thread within a day or so, so I will get on that later.

Have decided to stick to 5mg until I can find something that works on the constipation but I'm more than ready to titrate up I think once that's sorted.

Eyf · 16/08/2024 10:31

Weigh day today! Scales saying I’ve lost 3lb! So exactly 4 weeks on MJ and I’ve lost 13lb in total. Attempting bonus dose today.

Fantastic!!!! Are you going with an insulin syringe? Don't stress, it's easy enough!

Guest, what dose are you on? 100% suppression and only able to eat a few bites doesn't sound good 😞

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 16/08/2024 11:01

Voy have cancelled my prescription as they have diagnosed me with binge eating disorder!!!!

Immediately contacted them for a refund and applied for bolt, absolutely ridiculous that they do this after a 15 minute call. I then got a really sarcastic email about everything I was missing out on!!! DO NOT USE VOY

5mg. I spent many weeks on 2.5mg, then a month or so on 3.75 before 5 weeks on 5. This is the strongest suppression I’ve had yet. I might look at going back down to 3.75 from next weeks jab
