@GoodLuckBabe I've only started this week and my mood is shocking. I'm so irritable and have zero patience. I don't want to be around anyone at all. Everyone is irritating me!

GingerLemonTea · 15/08/2024 19:50

@GoodLuckBabe in this scenario I sometimes have an orange ice lolly. Not v exciting but gives you a wee treat for 70 cals. Mini twister & mini callipo are even less. Then I’ve had a wee something but don’t feel annoyed at myself for overdoing it.

Greyrockin · 15/08/2024 19:53

@Everdecreasingcircumferences, would you consider mirena coil and patches or gel? My GP prescribed that combination for me which really helped with my heavy periods as the coil stopped them completely.

GoodLuckBabe · 15/08/2024 19:58

@Everdecreasingcircumferences i think speak to the GP, however when I did a shake diet a few years ago and was losing 4/5lb a week I started bleeding lightly every day. I never asked the GP as I fell off the wagon before getting round to it but the fat loss definitely affected my hormones a lot.

VioletsHeart · 15/08/2024 20:00

@GoodLuckBabe ah the feeling of feelings without food for comfort. There are memes galore about the rudeness of having to deal with emotions when sober and having gone sober a few years ago, and now a couple of months in to MJ, it’s a similar process and I totally relate.
Really sorry you’re having a bad day. The early days can be hard working through feelings, both emotional and physical. Working out how much of what food feels good (early days I could face hardly any food, now eating happily).
I hope by now you’ve worked out something to eat that sounds good both to your brain and will suit your tummy at the mo. Always be gentle with yourself when feeling low. And a stroll or a cuppa or lighting a candle or a kitchen disco can be enough to change a bad mood for me.
Also lovely list of treats from @NeedSomeAnswersPlease !

supadupapupascupa · 15/08/2024 20:03

I started this week. Feel like I've had a lump in my throat and a bit of a headache. But I've increased my HRT and got a period this week too so who knows?
I've found it hard to figure out what to eat, I get paralysed. But I'm following Zoe so that pushes me along to get berries and veg and all the good stuff down. What I have noticed is I'm hungry but no appetite, and every meal I've only eaten half except for breakfast. Which makes sense if your digestion is slower I guess. So I'm thinking need smaller portions more often!

Welcome!
the lump in the throat feeling is one a few of us get. It’s a sign of reflux! Some of us take an antacid to help. Others find that doesn’t work for them and try to work out which food is causing the reflux and avoid.
Headaches again are common early days. Make sure you’re hydrated to the point of seeing like a race horse.
It took me a few weeks to work out what food was good, (most of it - bar fatty meat, or too much of anything for me)
Hope you settle in soon

GoodLuckBabe · 15/08/2024 20:20

@VioletsHeart thanks for your lovely message. Yes, this is the crux isn’t it - not being able to use food for comfort so you have to learn to do it another way. Have made some soup, which is not going to give me the pleasure hit I am craving, but I am going to put something absorbing on the TV and try and sit with the feelings. We all have different reasons why we have ended up on this journey, but for me it has definitely been the use of food for meeting all kinds of different needs. So tonight is an opportunity to practise not doing that (with the help of MJ) 😊 Once again, thanks for your message

GoodLuckBabe · 15/08/2024 20:22

@NeedSomeAnswersPlease thank you, great list, i am going to do the same, and maybe also a list of little things I can do for myself when I am really really missing the hit of a large chocolate bar!

I've just started a really good book series!

Only issue with the list is I'm hitting the targets faster than expected so the bank balance is hurting 🤣

Edited

Listening to music and going for a walk is my probably my best way of dealing with bad moods, uncomfortable emotions tho doesn’t always suit, like if it’s late etc. But exercise generally has the best chance of shifting my mood, followed my music. If I can’t be bothered to get out then just a big blast of music helps me - sometimes I force myself to sing along, which is no fun for the neighbours but I think wakes up a few endorphins

That was my first week too, but it settled down.

SnacklessWonder · 15/08/2024 21:42

That's good to know @JaneFallow I'm on HRT and I feel like before I started that!

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 21:43

I'm really worried about my prescription now

Had my voy call and I've essentially answered in a way that's made my coach think I have binge eating disorder despite having never been diagnosed with it, and I think they're going to cancel it. What do I do??? I can't just switch, and nothing has worked like this for me. I'm gutted. Absolutely gutted.

Why can’t you switch to another supplier? Are you on 2.5mg at the moment? How many doses have you got left in your pen?

diian · 15/08/2024 21:51

I have switch supplier for both my pens. I have used a code posted on MN and then got a cheaper pen. Affordability was more important to me than support/coaching as I find this thread provides the support and coaching I need.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 21:53

@ItsAlrightDarling 2.5, first does so three left - surely I'll be black listed if they're saying I've got an eating disorder? I qualify on med express apparently but everyone says their delivery is awful 😩 just stressed about it all as I thought the coaching had gone well, she said my mindset was amazing but that she needed to review if they can support me

MedExpress delivery has been absolutely fine for me. Last one ordered last week took 48 hours from ordering to delivery. Just make sure you leave yourself with plenty of time. I’m fairly sure they won’t blacklist you with other suppliers, even if they do decide they can’t support you! Did they say when they’d be back in touch?

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 22:02

@ItsAlrightDarling she said a clinician would review the recording of the call and they'd get back to me

Think it's just a bit of a crap week to have started, tonight was the Taylor Swift show I was meant to be at had I not been scammed which wasn't fun! Plus I'm due on my period in a week so I'm overthinking but I just want to get on and know, either way if that's the "support" I'm receiving id rather switch

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 22:13

I do think that if I get told I'm not suitable to take the medicine then surely I should get a refund? In theory their questionnaire should detect this and it didn't

OrangeWire · 15/08/2024 22:17

Evening! I am back from my AI holiday, wow the thread has moved on so much in a week! This morning is my usual weigh time, I thought about not doing it because we got back very late last night so I’ve had no time to drop any bloating etc, but decided to just go for it, and I’ve only gained 3 and a half pounds! This is massive, I usually gain about 10lbs 😂 I’m hoping I can have that off in 2 weeks max. Trying not to be furious that DH (not on MJ) only gained 2.5lbs and he pigged out at the buffet every day 😤😂

MountKilimounjaro · 16/08/2024 05:23

I've been in a long stall and have made a concerted effort to be as positive with myself as I am when talking to anyone on here who's going through a stall.

I got into quite a good headspace and have been really relaxed about it, just plodding onwards and focussing on everything else.

...am delighted to report I've finally had a whoosh. TMI but I realised I was rushing to the loo to wee a lot yesterday.

I have now lost 3 st 2 lbs. I'm averaging 2lbs loss a week with several big stalls along the way, but it does go to show it adds up over time.

I've been too embarrassed to give my stats in full before but here goes:

SW: 18 st 1 (end of March)
CW: 14 st 13
GW: 11 st

If it helps anyone else in a stall, I've really focussed on reframing the stall in my mind as my body resetting at its new weight and getting some rest before carrying on the journey.

I have a long way to go but I haven't been this weight for over five years now so I'm going to celebrate where I am before thinking about how far I still have to go.

A big congratulations to all of you for being on this journey; whether you have losses, stalls or gains the fact that you're here and you're trying is what counts.

TMI grumble, probably not MJ related

Peri is kicking my butt today. I use a moon cup, have for years. Only ever needed to empty when toileting, never leaked. This week I've had 5 days of light flow then suddenly yesterday and today I've had have experienced what can only be described as flooding several times. Urgent run to empty cup, every 2 hours or so. Really hope this doesn't become a regular thing - have been on HRT over a year and had been stable so this change is most unwelcome...

Am looking at old photos, I have lost a lot of weight around my face but when I was heavier I still saw the same person I see now in the mirror - it's photos that show me how different I look (the opposite of dysmorphic I think, thought I looked better than I did!).

I had that awful flooding experience in my late-40s when I had my coil taken out I couldn’t leave the house for a few days each month. So after 3 mths I got another mirena coil put back in to stop it again. I did have fibroids though and one later had to be removed. So if it continues do go see your GP as a quick ultrasound can rule things in/out.
