ObsidianTree - thank you so much for the work you have done on these thread. I dont post much but have read since thread 1 and gained so much valuable information.
I'm delighted for you that you are nearing the end of your loss journey and hopefully moving into maintenance soon. I hope you will keep us updated on your progress and how things are working for you?
I'm also in the slooooow loser club!
16lbs in 12 weeks (started week 13 on Sunday past). However, I'm delighted with that! I know for a fact I would have put on weight during those 12 weeks so to have 16 off is amazing.
I'm happy to be slow and steady, no one knows (except the dr) and I want to keep it that way.
There has been so much chat in my work and friends circles about MJ/OZ and the attitudes around it are so awful....I could not deal with the scrutiny of it all.
I am happy for no one to notice although I have had comments that a top looks nice or that my hair looks different. I'll take those over the dreaded....o you've lost weight, how have you done it comments?!
Everyone knows I have problems with my joints so when the time comes when it is noticeable I'll frame it around the fact that I couldnt go on with the pain and had to do something once and for all.
I tried OZ last year. I did not lose 1lb. It was awful, I was so sick and the dark cloud that came over me was frightening. I had to stop as I could not sleep and found it very difficult to get out of bed. Never again.
I was anxious starting MJ but as it turned out I'm also one that has had minimal side effects. Apart from a day of 2 tiredness when I step up a dose, I've been feeling pretty good. I cannot believe the difference between OZ and MJ.
I can also eat whatever I want.....fried foods, high fat, crisps, chocolate, bread. The list could go on and on. Obviously, I'm limiting those foods but not cutting them out altogether. Not experienced any sickness luckily. I'm still on 5mg but think I may step up to 6mg this weekend? I want to stay as low as I can for as long as possible to retrain my eating habits. I dont mind having to use some will power as I most definitely will have to once I get to maintenance.
Good luck to all of you on your journey. It's an amazing community here and I'm so grateful to have discovered you all way back when!
