Hi, everyone. Apologies for interrupting the conversation! I've been reading and lurking for a few weeks. I've lost 12kg on MJ over 3 months. I dread people asking me how I lost weight! My weight loss is now noticeable, and some people I work with are very direct and will go on and on about it. I have been on leave for 5 weeks, so I've not seen my colleagues for a while, but I will do next week.

My question at last: how do you deal with probing questions or comments about your weight loss? I don't want to tell the world about me being on MJ!!

I’ve just said ‘I’m eating less, and better’ which is completely true! DH knows im on MJ (and has just started himself) but no one else does.

I just say something like "for once I've stuck to less calories and going to the gym"

Only my husband knows officially. I did start telling another family member but they looked horrified so I stopped. No one else has noticed my weight loss so it hasn't come up yet with anyone else. I wasn't planning on telling anyone but I have a tendency to be an oversharer so it will probably slip out at some point.

NeedSomeAnswersPlease · 15/08/2024 09:14

@Nothavingfunrightnow I've told my parents, my brother and my best friends - my family because I live with them and they needed to know and my best friends because I don't see them that often and I knew next time I saw them I'd not be eating as much and I'd be looking different, nobody has been judgmental at all! I don’t know if it's just a really supportive group though!

IGmjdoesmj · 15/08/2024 09:16

Thankyou @Slimstar13 good to know. I think I'll get my next couple pens in at 10 x

SnacklessWonder · 15/08/2024 09:18

@Choux I've had no side effects this week. I think I just need to make a more conscious effort to eat as I'm not really thinking about it, if you know what I mean. I definitely don't want to continue eating this low as I have started exercising and gym etc.

katinthehattt · 15/08/2024 09:18

SnacklessWonder · 14/08/2024 22:17

What do you do when you don't feel you're eating enough? I've only managed 700 calories today (1200 is my goal) but if I ate more I'd feel like I was forcing it in.

There's an eating accountability thread in this section, people posting what they've eaten in a day while on MJ. Maybe have a look at that? Just so you can see the sort of regime you could be aiming for, to meet your target macros.

@MassiveSaladDodger @Lastchancefatty ooh weird, I just posted on the slow losers thread saying that’s my theory! When I was considering Mj I read this from thread 1 all the way through (took over a week 😆) and I thought I saw a clear pattern of fast losers having stronger side effects and slow losers not so much. I definitely believe this is a Thing.

Interesting!
I've only lost 1.5 stone since March! I was 13st 5 and am now 11st 12

No side effects whatsoever but the weight loss is soooo slow! I lost and gained the same 2lbs for over a month!

I'm now on 12.5 and still waiting for the food noise to stop.

I did ozempic at the beginning of 2023 and the side effects were horrendous but I lost so much weight

NewLifter · 15/08/2024 09:23

@choux it could be nonsense, but a post came up in one of the groups saying that another group was shut down by FB itself for discussing medical advice / altered dosing schedules and stuff - I will see if I can find it! I find it unbelievable given the absolute crap that Facebook do allow!

@NewLifter
I'm not sure about this. One group was taken down this week (the one linked with Oushk pharmacy - Mounjaro UK) but we were told this was an issue with the new group photo which broke the rules for advertising meds. Not sure if someone complained or what. No mention, that I saw, that this was to do with dosing advice, etc and a back up group was immediately put up with new photo and group rules which don't prohibit this type of discussion either. It's all a bit strange...

Day 4 of 5mg. I have the most horrendous bad breath! 👎

Tips?

Tips?

Sugar free mints maybe? Just be careful as they can cause an upset stomach!!

I've noticed my morning breath has been worse than usual!

Weigh day for me - 2 lbs down, very pleased about this, and I'm on my period.
Appetite is rather low yesterday and the day before, but otherwise all good.

I'm officially 1 lb away from a 3 stone loss, and I have 2 more weeks to go until I hit 3 months on MJ (and until my holiday).

Forevafatty · 15/08/2024 10:07

Morning, sorry for the unpleasant topic, but is pysillium husk not really working for anyone else? I've been taking it everyday, but still struggling to actually go without pain 😳. Anyway got any other suggestions, please? Thank you!

Oh I see, that's interesting!!! Most of the pharmacies do seem to stretch the rules on advertising don't they 😔 thanks for the info!

Something that "motivated" me if you will is a strong coffee with a protein shake as the milk

pinktransit · 15/08/2024 10:15

Weigh day for me today - less than a lb off this week. I do weigh daily ish, and had been lower earlier in the week. But it's still a loss, and I'm now under 10 stone, which is amazing!

SW: 12.6.6
CW: 9.13.2
IGW: 9.7.0

Total MJ loss to date: 35.3lb
20.2% of body weight lost.

I have only just realised that it's weigh/jab day - I forgot it was Thursday! Now I have to decide what to do with my dose this week. Do I go up to 10mg? I was thinking of staying at 7.5mg, but don't know. I looked at my <1lb loss this week, and thought I'd go up, but then looked at the overall pattern and I tend to have a bigger loss one week and smaller the next. So maybe stay at 7.5....

I am being very indecisive today.

Are you having enough water with it? Have loads. When I didn't it actually blocked me up.

I thought I was drinking enough, but now I'm not sure. It's actually making me really miserable. I'm going on holiday tomorrow and I don't want to dread 'going' for the next week.

Is it too late to drink lots more water when you're already backed up?

Edited to add: I'm worried that this is going to be the thing that stops me using MJ, and I really really need this to work!

Senna tablets.
2 - 4 at night.

Never fail!
And have a drink of Andrews when you get up.

mjdle · 15/08/2024 10:40

@pinktransit how long have you been on MJ, we have similar starting weight. Great loss, I can't wait to be in the 9's but struggling to get under 10.10 at the moment. 8 weeks and I'm just about to move up to 7.5 today but thinking I might rotate up slowly as didn't feel great after last weeks jab x
