Thanks for the 10mg advice at the end of the last thread! I've ordered my second pen of 10mg and I take my second dose on Friday. Was going to count the clicks and take a bit less, but will stick with it to see if week 2 is a bit easier on me. I do have some cyclizine if the nausea is too much!

MrsBurtMacklin · 07/08/2024 14:53

Ooh as a new thread, will do a very quick update for the newbies.

Started mounjaro at the end of March. So about 18ish weeks - 4 months. I'm 40lbs down so far. I have quite a bit to lose, so will be here for another year at least! (Wonder how many threads we will have then!)

3wDavid · 07/08/2024 15:11

@BeautyPageantDropout yup! They are so good for protein and low calories too!!

Another good one is turkey breast!

Vamozz · 07/08/2024 15:14

Checking in too!

SW 210lbs (3/5/24)
CW 166lbs
GW 154lbs

I'm so happy with my progress and so grateful to everyone on this thread. I don't post often but I read every day. It's been such a good support.
I can't believe I'm so close to my target 🙏
I'm on 4mg because I decided to slowly titrate up and have added some days in here an there when necessary.

It's a pity the media can't report some of the success stories on here instead of scaremongering 😥

Addictedtobeauty · 07/08/2024 15:25

That could be a blessing in disguise @Vamozz Imagine the supply problems if it was widely hailed as a miracle solution.

I never think of turkey. Must have a look!

Thanks for the new thread @ObsidianTree
Someone mentioned poor sleep on the end of the last thread - mine's dreadful since being on MJ. I'm knackered all day, drop off OK, then wake around 3 or 4 and find it impossible to go back to sleep. Someone suggested magnesium but it gave me bad guts so that was no good.
It's strange how different people have different reactions - I know some report much better sleep and feel great energy during the day too, which I've never had either as I've felt generally lethargic and flat since my 1st jab 3 months ago.
Worth it though!

Which type of magnesium did you use as there are different types. Magnesium citrate is a laxative for constipation so might be good to check which one you have.
Magnesium glycinate and l-threonate are the ones that tend to be used to assist with sleep.

@Addictedtobeauty That's a very good point!

Hi. I'm down 18lb in five weeks, but have stalled.
However, I look thinner, and my clothes are getting too big, so I must be losing inches.

I'm desperate to see the scales telling me I've finally got below 16st. I'm 16st 8lb at the moment.

Beeble21 · 07/08/2024 16:04

week 8 completed today and im
13.2lbs down.
Im planning on using my second 5mg pen to do 6mg doses before starting 7.5.

3wDavid · 07/08/2024 16:05

@TheShellBeach define stalled? How long has it been? Where are you on your cycle - that could affect weight big time.

I have an interesting contribution to the thread.

I ended up having several glasses of wine last night (hadn't intended to drink much on MJ at all), and weirdly not only am l less hungover than usual, but I'm not even hungry.

Usually after too much wine I'd be ravenous for carbs and would get a subway/macdonalds, but I don't even want to eat. Very interesting! So the MJ completely obliterates even hangover hunger.

@TtheC - I am EXACTLY the same. I owe the hangover gods so badly, I'm terrified they're going to call in their debts one day but it hasn't happened yet! No matter what I drink - no hangover!

NippyCrab · 07/08/2024 16:55

I've not caught up yet with this new thread. We got a ring doorbell and dog cam at the weekend and omg I'm horrific, I'm so fat, I was standing at the front door looking at the position of the camera and all I could focus on was this big baw face! If I wasn't already motivated and focused to lose this weight, I'm going for it now! X

TtheC · 07/08/2024 16:55

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa it's weird isn't it.

When I'm not on MJ I'd feel like complete shit after the best part of a bottle of wine.

But then some people feel sick after 1 glass?!

pinktransit · 07/08/2024 16:58

MedExpress price matching - I ordered last Friday, forgot to say anything about a price match. Got an email from them on Sunday advising that they were experiencing delays in prescribing, and they'd let me know when it was approved.
I emailed them on Monday with a screenshot of the pricelist from Family Chemist (£159 compared to £189.99).
Prescription approved and despatched today, and I've just had an email saying my account has been credited with £31 off my next order.
I'm happy with that, though will see what happens with price matching for the next pen - the credit is technically for this order not the next, but I can see them arguing that I've had a credit so no price match.

I've just upped my dose from 2.5 to 5mg and starting to feel really nauseous. I'm going on holiday on Sunday so was wondering if I should miss out a dose or how it works if I inject half the amount? Any ideas?

AgathaMystery · 07/08/2024 17:25

Evening all - thanks @ObsidianTree for the new thread as always!

I’ve just ordered my 1st 10mg pen with Med Express and they kindly price matched so I’ve got it for £148 which I’m okay with. I’m in a mega stall but if I maintain for the next month I’m okay with that. About to go on an absolutely mega holiday for 24 days …!!!! and would like to come home the same weight. That’s my goal and I’m writing it down here in the hope that I can achieve it. I’ve borrowed travel scales from a friend and they are coming with me!

imnottoofussed · 07/08/2024 17:29

I'm waiting to hear about my price match from medexpress. I did use a previous price match credit against this order so will see what they say. They initially emailed me back asking for evidence of the lower price.

Time wise I ordered Thursday, prescribed Saturday, dispatched Tuesday arrived today. So not too long a process even though they did email to say they are experiencing delays.

Separately ordered from cloud pharmacy for my relative. They don't ask for photos and you can also tick to say you'll notify gp yourself just in case that's of interest to anyone. I might switch to them for my next pen, they seem to have a 5% off code each month.

SevernWonders · 07/08/2024 17:46

Just wanted to share a positive GP (telephone) appointment.

Had my yearly hrt review and mentioned I was taking MJ. GP was interested and asked lots of questions as to how I was finding it etc. Said she has had lots of patients taking it recently but quite a lot of side effects so was glad to hear I was having minimal, and that having good losses on a low dose. She congratulated me on my weight loss and health improvement.

Unfortunately she didn't offer it on prescription Grin

Take some dimenhydrinate.
Go to eBay and look up Equate Travel Sickness tablets. They're about £15 for a hundred and they work really well.

Ifyounevergiveup · 07/08/2024 17:56

WitchyBits · 07/08/2024 12:49

Well I've taken the jump and put an order in today. Got on the scared and was horrified to see I'm 110kg

First and most importantly, congratulations on a brilliant decision and please don’t be horrified, you will probably never see that number at a weigh in ever again! Secondly, thank you for the best typo ever… I’m not having the most fun of times at the moment and “scared scales” could be my user name!

On a more general point to celebrate the new thread, I’m still teetering on 11.11 and I have never lost more than a pound in a week, but you know what, that’s fine by me. I haven’t binged once in the six weeks since I started, I never think about food until my tummy grumbles, and it grumbles a lot less and it quietens much quicker with less food than it used to be. If I continue to lose a pound a week I’ll be nine and a half stone by April. The last time I was that weight I was ten years of age…

…and being taken to my first Weight Watchers meeting by my mother 🙄

hoarahloux · 07/08/2024 18:17

Just did my 8th jab this morning and so far I've lost a stone. Not bad!

TtheC · 07/08/2024 18:30

Blimey, I've just left half of my dinner. Week 2 on only 2.5.

I don't think I've ever in my 40 years not cleaned my plate. This is like witchcraft.

BlackFriYay · 07/08/2024 18:46

I'm not at all happy with Med Express.

I'd already been waiting over a week for my prescription to be approved when they contacted me to say they'd put a hold on my order until I answered some questions (confirm my weight, tell them that I'm eating enough calories, confirm I'm eating enough protein, let them know If I'd had any side effects etc)

I happily answered all of that.

2 days later still not approved so I chase it up and receive an apology and the assurance that a note has been put on to expedite things.

Now today they've contacted me again and said that as there's been an 8 week gap between my last order with them and now, they want me to have 7.5mg and not the 10mg I requested.

So then I've had to explain that there hasn't been a gap in treatment and that I'd bought a 10mg from Zava in the mean time after M.E stopped doing discount codes.

Then they wanted proof of that prescription, so off I go again. Now they've fucked off for the evening so yet another 24-48hrs to wait for that to be acknowledged.

I'm sure this level of faff is reassuring for some folks but I just want my bloody medication. If I didn't already have the 10mg from zava, by the time these knobs get around to sending my meds I would be forced to go back down to a lower dose.

This will be the last time they see any money from me.
