@Secretslimmer @Slimstar13 @MassiveSaladDodger @Mounjaroattheend oh guys, I just popped out and to come back to this has made me quite tearful! @Slimstar13 I am so reassured to hear that the suppression came back for you at higher doses. I think that’s what really threw me for a loop today; out of nowhere I wasn’t just hungry again, the food noise and cravings had/have come back and I just had assumed they were a thing of the past. I started my weight loss journey a decade ago and reduced over several years from 15 stone 4 to 11 stone 4 at Slimming World; but over the last six years or so I crept back up to 13 stone 2; tried Mysimba which worked brilliantly for weight loss and took me down to 12 stone 5 but oh my GOD the anxiety it gave me…well, absolute dread every waking hour…was just untenable. That’s when I started lurking on this thread and found you guys! So at (currently) 11 stone 11 and 5’2” with a tiny frame under the flab, I want to lose about 30lb. I should have confidence that I can do it; I’ve lost a lot of weight in the past but somehow that holds no value to me. I have hypothyroidism and PCOS but never had any hormonal issues either menstrual or through menopause. I eat well but should eat fewer carbs and more protein…my biggest enemy has always been hunger and historically protein just didn’t fill me up. I think that’s why today upset me so much…I just can’t tolerate hunger (I guess it rings too many bells from when I was a kid with a fat phobic mother) and until now hunger had been a thing of the past on Mj. On 2.5mg I was able to eat 1000 calories a day and continue going to the gym four times a week with walking 10,000 steps a day, and to feel that slipping away has been just awful. But now I have hope that this is just a 5mg reaction and I just need to plough on. You’re all absolutely right, if I weren’t taking the Mj I wouldn’t be losing at all and it’s so reassuring to know that I’m not the only one who’s going slow but steady. I wouldn’t care, I was the one the other day spouting about comparisons being invidious ☺️. I shall try to take my own advice along with yours and thank you so much for the support xx

Totally get where you’re coming from. I think plodding on is absolutely the thing. And eventually the dose kicks in, and it’s bound to be up and down - or to get over a slow start, but in the end the habits were trying to make are what will do the job in the long term. It’s just really hard fighting hunger, defo been there. I think I’ve not accounted enough for the fact that I would likely have put on weight this summer without MJ, so I’m trying to celebrate stability for now. Really appreciate this group and the fine work from @ObsidianTree bringing us all together

QueenOfHiraeth · 13/08/2024 23:43

Thank you @ObsidianTree the noise of this thread replaced my food noise for a good while after I started! We are all grateful to you

Eyf · 14/08/2024 07:54

These threads are great so thank you @ObsidianTree! it is really helpful to know there’s others out there going on the same journey!

I am really quite annoyed this morning. My son has SEN and can become very emotionally overwhelmed. Yesterday during a meltdown he chucked my weighing scales in the kitchen and broke them. 😔

Ordered some off Amazon that should be here today! Will be being put out of reach now after weigh days. My partner is also weighing with me weekly as he had a gastric bypass a few weeks ago.

ItsAlrightDarling · 14/08/2024 08:30

An unofficial weigh in this morning suggests I might have reached my next mini target of ‘under 70kg’ by my next official weigh in on Thursday 🤞

ObsidianTree · 14/08/2024 08:44

Thanks for the kind messages 😌 it's great that these threads have encouraged so many people to start.

I am not quite at maintenance yet as still have a stone to go. I plan to continue the medication until I get kicked off! Hopefully never! Will probably titrate down somewhat when I get to a healthy BMI.

So I'll still be here, just want to pass on the responsibility of starting the next thread etc!

You all can decide amongst yourselves who can start the next thread 😊

Hi! New here 👌

I'm looking to begin my purchase tomorrow and before I do would anyone mind sharing which supplier they have found the most consistent with deliveries and offering discounts etc? I'm on maternity leave so looking to do this as cheap as I possibly can 🫠

Thanks ❤️

My first post on this thread (posted on thread 18 a few times and have lurked for ages!)

First of all a huge thank you to @ObsidianTree - if you hadn't started these threads I would not now be on Mounjaro. What a little sub-MN community this has become! I hope you will still be posting even though you won't be 'chairing' the next thread?

I am 2 weeks in and 3.5kg down - it's truly amazing. I've tried every diet in the book, even had a private doctor prescribe amphetamines when I was in my late teens and nothing has been as good as Mounjaro.

I now truly believe that obesity is nowhere near as simple as calories in/calories out or ELMM. I feel liberated from food noise for the first time ever in my life and it's lovely. Food suddenly doesn't feel like the enemy.

I think I will also see a nice reduction in my grocery bill at the end of the month as I'm just not going to the shops as often and therefore not buying so much.

Does anyone here recommend any particular brand of collagen? Thanks 😊

I totally agree re obesity. It's really not just that simple, I've done CICO for ages but it always seems to be so hard. One jab of Mounjaro and I'm already 5lbs down, eating way less and my choices are so much healthier!

I have tried a few collagen powders, are you looking for a bovine or a marine one? The one I've stuck with is Skinful by Bare Biology, I take the strawberry flavour one which I just put into my water bottle and give a good shake. Nails definitely stronger since I've been taking it.

3wDavid · 14/08/2024 11:13

Re Collagen, I really rate Dose & Co.

I’ve used both the vanilla collagen creamer (lovely in coffee), and the collagen protein powder (by far the nicest tasting one I’ve found!).

Has anyone reordered from MedExpress recently and can tell me how long it took please?

I ordered Saturday and still waiting for the prescription to be authorised.

Tried calling them all day yesterday and no answer and the emails responses are ridiculously slow.

My latest order, I order Sun morning, it was prescribed Thursday afternoon, dispatched Friday and didn’t reach me until Monday morning, so 9 days in total which is crazy! But all of my other orders with them have been 3-4 days. Definitely chase - call / email. They should speed things up. And maybe give you some £££ back for the inconvenience…

Chucklesisters · 14/08/2024 11:37

@Ifyounevergiveup and others, sorry to bring back last evening’s thread into the middle of the next day, but I’m also one of you. And it hurts. So much so that I had to unwatch this thread and mute the FB group because I’m being left well behind in the happy race so many of us here are running.

i’m in such a dark place with SH thoughts because of being highest performer in the slow loser club (untested by data of course). I’ve been on 12.5 and 15mg for the last two months and yet all I see on these threads are people losing 4-5 stone on very low dosages and celebrating maintenance time. People reaching their target weight in two months and posting pictures at 9 stone. People constantly asking here how they can count clicks on 2.5 and 5mg while I bemoan that 15mg is as high as they can go. I won’t quit MJ but I’ve had to stop reading these threads and groups because it bloody sucks to fail at something yet again.

I will always be proud of you lot, however. Keep celebrating.

I ordered Sunday morning it was approved and sent within a few hours to my surprise. It did take 2 days to get here but was still cold fortuately. My previous one took almost a week to be authorised so no idea how they prioritise.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 14/08/2024 11:47

Yay! @NeedSomeAnswersPlease - that's fantastic!

@katinthehattt thank you - I'm not fussed as to whether it's bovine or marine - I am of an age now where my skin is getting a bit crepey and I'd like to try to prevent as much sagging as I can as I lose weight.

My nails have always been quite weak and brittle so anything that would help those as well would be a bonus.

@3wDavid - thank you - I'll check the powder out

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 14/08/2024 11:49

Good morning!

Still happy to do the next threads. I'm on long term sick and spend a lot of my time emotionally, spiritually and physically attached to mumsnet anyway.

Had a weigh and I'm back on 104kg exactly, but I did have a curry, naan and starters very late for my tea last night as a rare celebratory meal.

It is injection day, and I have got to decide this week whether I'm doing another 4 weeks of 5mg or titrating up to 7.5mg, I have been hungrier, but the weight has still been coming off even if I eat a little bit when I am hungry. I'm not here for a fast drop, I'm just here for the journey.

TheShellBeach · 14/08/2024 11:52

Yay!
I got my size 18 jeans on comfortably at last.

DH says he can really see a difference now.

I've lost 4st since January.

Only been on MJ since 28th June and lost 23lb on it.

Ghilliedu · 14/08/2024 11:54

@chesterlestreet I have used oushk for my last 2 pens and they’ve been really good. You can choose a specific date for delivery and pick between DPD and Royal Mail. They do a £10 code each month and recently had a 15% discount and even though I didn’t need a pen I was able to use the code to be delivered in 6 weeks time. They also have regular lives and tonight there’s an ‘ask oushk’ webinar on Teams.

they are not the cheapest around but the customer service is amazing and they are so helpful and responsive. I still have a long way to go but I’m planning to stick with them the whole way.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 14/08/2024 11:54

Hi @Chucklesisters - I'm only brand new to this but didn't want to read and run. What you say really resonates with me from all of the 'diets' I have tried before, so although, currently, I'm seeing success with MJ I'm not taking it for granted at all.

I would be the one at WW and SW who followed the plan to a T but stayed the same or gained while others openly had 'cheat nights' and lost 4lbs. It's heartbreaking and soul destroying when all you can see are the others losing more. I have no real words of wisdom but I honestly empathise with you.

Which company are you buying your MJ from? Do they have coaches that you could discuss this with?

I hear you Flowers

JamieFrasersSassenach · 14/08/2024 11:57

@TheShellBeach well done!! I imagine those jeans will be worn quite a lot over the next few weeks?

Nice to see you back on here btw 😉

I'm so sorry that you feel like this. I often find it baffling how differently people's bodies function despite us all having the same components. My DH can easily drop the weight without really trying, but I have to suffer blood, sweat and tears to even shift 2lbs. But you have lost weight and will continue to do so albeit very slowly. Try and focus on how much your body will already be benefitting from being lighter and healthier.

My first Mounjaro pen arrives tomorrow and I'm pretty sure mine is going to be a sloooow weight loss too. I'm already battling with peri menopause bloating and a huge sugar addiction. But even if I can only shift a stone I will be in a healthier place, like you are now.

Pinkbendyman · 14/08/2024 12:20

For any existing Zava customers, they certainly seem to have upped their game/taken on more staff/listened and responded to customer complaints.
I placed my order and paid on Monday and it was approved in less than 2 hours.
Received an email from them yesterday to say it would be delivered by Royal Mail before 1pm today.
Just opened the package with 3 almost solid frozen ice packs plus the insulation packaging.
Very impressed!

I'd ordered a dual pack this time - 1 x 12.5mg and 1 x 15mg for £376.99

I’m planning that these will be my last pens before I reach maintenance 🤞

Shall we start a slow loser thread? Mine has been approaching 4.5 months and I have lost nearly 1.5 stone - nowhere near the stone people say they are losing in a week etc.

I don’t think it’s as effective for me, and it probably isn’t for you but I just have to think - would I have lost 1.5 stone without it? I was at an absolute stalemate prior to this as I just could not shift weight which was continuously increasing.

The loss has been very slow, but with that comes benefits in that I don’t have loose skin and no visible stretch marks as the skin contracts.

I was similar in April when I saw people take the 2.5 and say they’ve lost 2 kg a week consistently and I was really disheartened that it just wasn’t happening for me.

As long as you are losing something, and you feel healthier then please don’t compare yourself to others losses as they may have more to lose.

Perhaps a change to Wegovy or Ozempic is required if MJ really isn’t working?
