Woo hoo, I finally reached my goal weight! Ideally I’d like to lose a few more pounds to give me a bit of flex, but am planning on doing that whilst reducing my dose slowly.

zava don’t support maintenance - does anyone have any tips?

SW 14st 2 (mid March)
GW 10st 10 today!!!

Huge congratulations on reaching your goal - you must feel incredible! 🥳

Do you really mean 'best' suppression?! I was a bit confused reading this!

Did you calorie count? I bet it adds up to a fair bit still with the milkshake! A large milkshake has around 600 calories. Had you not really had suppression before? I tend to have water with meals so I don't fill up on liquids.

Some days I've really strong suppression, but I never force food down - I know I will be hungrier at some point in the week so I make up for it then. Counting calories really helps to see the weekly average.

I used to force food down when I wasn't hungry and that's what got me here 😭

Yeah I’m not forcing food down on the high suppression days either, like you I know my appetite will increase towards the end of the week and I can make up some calories then. Instead I’m trying to ‘eat to my appetite’ and make sure that the calories I do eat are nutritious ones.

Pinkbendyman · 12/08/2024 07:57

@MathildaMattie congratulations! 🏅 You must be over the moon!

I’ve got about 1.5 stone to lose before maintenance (and also with Zava) so I don’t have any plans as yet but please keep us all updated with your progress.

Morning everyone. I've had visitors all weekend so I've not been keeping up. They brought so much food and wine with them and I really struggled. I eat and drank far less then usual but feel dreadful this morning. No one had noticed my weight loss but I didn't expect it as it is relatives I don't see very often and I'm not sure they had seen my at my fattest.

I got quite excited yesterday as I ordered from MedExpress inthe morning and it was approved and apparently dispatched within a couple of hours. Unfortunately the tracking is still on "awaiting package" this morning so it looks like it will spend the day warming up in the heatwave and turn up warm tomorrow. Why do they do this? They must get so many complaints.

Well done on the losses all. I'm unexpectedly down this morning.

SW 15st 4.8
CW 13st 5ish

Mine sat like that for a few days with Zava but actually the date on the medication label was the date RM actually received it (I received it two days later). They seem to book it with RM before they actually dispense it, probably just how they get admin to print the postage labels in advance or something - so try not to panic! Mine arrived with ice packs fully melted but the pen wasn't warm, just normal room temp. It's definitely worjing effectively two doses in.

InspectorGidget · 12/08/2024 08:39

Wowsers I've missed a whole thread! I only blinked for a week while away at Kendal calling!

I stayed the same despite a weekend of drinking - I did ok for food considering the options available!

14 weeks in now and 22lbs down. It's been slow and steady with no gains (3 weeks of no losses!) but I'm happy and no one suspects I'm 'cheating!' I'm still on 5mg.

SW - 236.8lbs 16st 12.5lbs
CW - 214lbs 15st 4lbs
GW - 154lbs 11st

We've got another festival this weekend and then on holiday to Italy next week so I'm really just ticking over now until September!

ExpatAl · 12/08/2024 08:55

Hi, I received my 2,5 on Friday. I’m just going through dates and realise I’m going to be away on hols and then for work on change dates. Is there anywhere that will sell me two months supply of 5mg? Reading comments I think 5mg will hold me

NippyCrab · 12/08/2024 08:57

Aww @MathildaMattie congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 you must be floating on a major high seeing that on the scales!

Ifyounevergiveup · 12/08/2024 09:13

@MathildaMattie congratulations! What a superb achievement! I’m surprised to hear some prescribers haven’t clicked on to maintenance yet but I’m sure you’ll find a supportive one who will. I wish I were in a position to know! - it’s a problem which is still a long way off for me 😉

Waspwine · 12/08/2024 09:15

@MathildaMattie congratulations!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 it really is so lovely to see people getting to goal!!!!

30not13 · 12/08/2024 09:26

Checking in

Been awol as was on leave for a week then at a festival for 2 days, I did jab 6 of 2.5mg (stayed on it as felt great effect still) might as well have been water, eaten so much. I could've gone up to 5mg on Friday but with the increase plus being a festival, delayed until this morning.

So bloated and I've not been able to weigh but I would estimate at least 7lbs gain from my clothes being tight again so very hopeful that 5mg brings back the suppression for me.

Fingers crossed.

Waspwine · 12/08/2024 09:40

back from a relaxing week away.

rounded up/down weight so far
SW 12st 5 (started in May)
CW 10st 9

Weigh today as couldn’t weigh last week as I was on holiday. I’ve had no loss so still 10st 9lbs but no gain so that’s good!

Dosage wise I went back down to 7.5mg on Friday as the 10mg and then 8.5mg were causing too many side effects.

So I’m 14 weeks in and 24lb lighter if my maths is correct. Hoping to be at goal by my birthday in November 😊 and at this rate, although it’s slow weight loss compared to others, it looks achievable!!

MathildaMattie · 12/08/2024 09:49

Thanks all for your lovely comments. As I titrate down and try to maintain I will share my experiences as I'm sure lots of you will be at this point in the not too distant future.

I'm looking at starting training to be a Pilates teacher this year and I've never seen a fat Pilates teacher, so that's an added incentive!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 12/08/2024 10:48

@MathildaMattie CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉🎉
You must feel amazing! Good luck with the maintenance and the Pilates training 👍

VioletsHeart · 12/08/2024 11:00

Happy Monday. I’m two months in today and this morning the scales tip in at 10st 13.6 having danced about above 11st for the last couple of weeks. It’s the first time I’ve been under 11st in 6 years. I’ve lost a steady 19lb and am delighted.
I’m a shorty (5’1”) so I still have a fair way to go until I’m at goal but for the first time in my life goal feels like a possibility.

I'm thinking about starting Pilates and would quite like a fat Pilates teacher personally 😅

2nd dose 5mg has broken me. I’ve been constantly nauseous all day and vomiting first thing in the morning since Friday and haven’t eaten more than 300cal since then. Currently trying to stay hydrated and drinking lucozade to get some energy in. Am I just waiting for it to wear off by Wednesday/Thursday?
The first 5mg dose was no problem at all!

3wDavid · 12/08/2024 11:38

Congratulations 🎉 So many reasons to celebrate and cheer on so many of you here at the start of this week, it is beautiful to see!!!

For anyone who still remembers my MedExpress warm pen debacle from last week, I’ve just received an email from them confirming my replacement pen has been dispatched with RM special delivery and will be with me tomorrow. Felt a bit daft for kicking up a fuss after Lilly confirmed it was fine, but I’m also not about to say no to a free pen 🙈

It’s also jab day for me today, but haven’t done it yet and contemplating pushing it out to tomorrow or Wed, as ideally I’m trying to move my injection day back to the end of the week (Thu/Fri).

I am awaiting aunt flo imminently; and also we’re getting a lot of hot weather the past couple of days and into this week, so fully expecting a “stall/gain” this week all things considered.

I’m also having a wee panic about my upcoming vacation at the end of the month- we’ll be going abroad staying at a villa with family. It’s a two week holiday, so I plan to take my pen but mindful I won’t want to keep in the fridge there for anyone to find/see. I got on of these insulated pouches for insulin pens off amazon - would that be a protection enough, if I store it in there and in my luggage once we’re there? Like, would it protect it from big temp swings? Anyone got any advice?

Oof that sounds dreadful, how horrible for you! And so odd for it to come on out of nowhere! Hoping you feel better soon!! Maybe get some anti nausea medication? Try to get some protein shakes/electrolytes into you, that should help with hydration/give you some energy hopefully. Maybe worth when you do you next jab to step down the dose a bit? Go for 3.75 or 4 mg instead?

imnottoofussed · 12/08/2024 12:18

Just to confirm I've had my second medexpress price match confirmed. They do seem to think they are price matching the next order each time which is a bit odd they should just be refunding the amount surely. I might not be staying with them for my next one so I'll have a credit on my account to use on something else at least

GingerLemonTea · 12/08/2024 12:24

Have had a weekend of events & despite only having half portions of the rich food and 2 glasses of wine I have gained on the scales each day for 3 days. It’s quite off putting and has wiped out most of my (small) losses with this 4th pen. Just need to get back on it today but it’s definitely a bit disheartening.

RachelGreensHair · 12/08/2024 12:47

Thank you all for the exercise suggestions :) esp about Lucy and hee walking videos!!

I had my 2.5mg from MedExpress and want to order my 5mg with them. They're currently charging £149.99, I know they do price match, does anyone know of a pharmacy selling 5mg for less please.

imnottoofussed · 12/08/2024 12:51

I think the family chemist might be the cheapest for 5mg at the moment
