Haven’t updated for a few weeks but I’ve completed week 8 yesterday. Five weeks on 2.5 and 3 on five. The first week or two on 5ml I felt absolutely horrendous, exhausted and sick but it’s really settled down now.

In the 8 weeks I’ve lost 25 pounds
and I can finally feel and see the difference.

I went shopping yesterday and for the first time in so long I actually liked my reflection in shop windows, I didn’t look fat and middle aged.

Today I have cleared my wardrobe and I have found SO MANY gorgeous size 14 clothes still with tags on, that I loved and kept “to slim into” and now they ALL fit perfectly. I’m so bloody happy I have a brand new wardrobe.

I also have about two bin liners of fat clothes to charity shop
or take to the dump and put in the textile bin.

Pop them on vinted! A bit of hassle but you'll probably pay for an injection

Smokedsausagesupper · 11/08/2024 15:13

Afternoon lovelys, hope it's hot enough for you today.
So today I have gone a bit off piste..
After my 10th injection (5mg) I decided I was fed up with my side effects and would try splitting my dose.
I had a pen in the fridge 2.5mg ordered in error and kept for emergencies and have today done 2.5 with a view to doing another 2.5 Thursday.
Anyone tried this?

I was convinced I would go by the book and up the dose after every pen but I just feel so crap most of the time.
Feel too tired to exercise most days, calories around 600 for about 4/5 days after the injection, not sleeping well and on top of that bad acid reflux etc etc.

Hopefully splitting the dose to twice a week will help a bit.

On the plus side 26lbs down in 10 weeks so pretty happy with that.

CautiousLurker · 11/08/2024 15:16

@Smokedsausagesupper my sister splits her dose, at the advice of her prescriber, as she was really struggling with nausea and diarrhoea and it was affecting her ability to concentrate at work. She copes much better.

The plan as it stands once I hit my goal is to go back down to 5mg for a month whilst gradually upping my calories to what will be my new maintenance amount (I'm yet to work out exactly what that is though). I'm heading back to the gym as of today and I'm going to start strength training.

I'll keep a close eye on the scales and general trend then go down to 2.5 whilst sticking to maintenance calories, review again in another month and tweak as necessary.

It's a bit daunting to be honest as for the last 4 weeks of being on 7.5 I felt hungry all of the time, though admittedly I was only eating a maximum of 1300cals daily, still being in 'lose' mode. I'm hoping having more calories to play with will offset a lot of that hunger 🤞🏼

FarriersGirl · 11/08/2024 16:06

@Smokedsausagesupper I did this at more or less the same point as you on 5mg. Whilst it did not do away with side effects completely they were easier to cope with. After a couple of weeks I moved back to a single weekly dose and have been fine since.

I love the occasional Grenade protein shake, the salted caramel is delicious. 25g protein for 119 calories. Isey Skyr salted caramel yoghurt is 16g protein for less than 100 calories. Guess you know what my favourite sweet thing is now 😀

Have you tried the baked apple flavour of the skyr? It's bloody amazing - highly recommend!

AgathaMystery · 11/08/2024 16:49

Good point about selling clothes on. I’ve made £523 on vinted since April - making this almost cost neutral.

That is my favourite but it is really hard to get round here. Where do you get yours?
M&S used to stock it but stopped, Waitrose still have it but our nearest branch is about 20 miles away so a long way to go if they have run out, Asda stock it but it's out of stock more than it's in!

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/08/2024 19:00

@DragonflyRuby I follow an American doctor on TikTok with the catchy username "229-441-3562 | GLP1 Coach. He talks quite a bit about stalls and what he calls zombie mode. He did one on 31/7 which might be helpful for you although only you will know where he advises a small increase in calories (about 200 per week) to kick start the thyroid

Swiftlygoesit · 11/08/2024 20:32

I haven’t been able to catch up with the thread yet but sharing my update that I weighed myself after holiday this morning and had actually lost 1.1kg over the last 2.5 weeks! So I’m now 71.5kg, 14kgs down in 10 weeks, and within touching distance of being 60-something. I’m delighted and shocked!

I’m very happy with this scale victory. I was still eating less that usual on holiday but still enjoyed food, treats and drink so didn’t feel restricted. I think the combination of more walking than usual and keeping up a gym routine definitely helped too.

Thanks for all the personal stories that people share on this thread. I find it so helpful to learn from others’ experiences, successes and challenges too.

3wDavid · 11/08/2024 20:33

Random but…does anyone have a Huel code, if so could you PM me? Also, do you recommend?

I used to get it regularly at M&S but haven't seen it for ages, I didn't know they'd stopped carrying it! There's a Waitrose about 5 minutes from my house so if I'm passing, I'll call in and get some. Not having it very often almost makes yoghurt feel like a treat 😂

QueenOfHiraeth · 11/08/2024 20:49

@MounjaroMunchie Our M&S is only a small Simply Food so I don't know if bigger ones may still have it

susiedaisy1912 · 11/08/2024 20:52

Week 20 today and have weighed this morning and have lost exactly 3 stones so really happy with that. My bmi is still 40 so still have a lot to loose but getting there slowly. It feels so strange to have something that works consistently week after week, and that my target weight may actually be achievable now. I have spent so many years trying to accept that I would always be an obese person and trying to make the best of it.

AgathaMystery · 11/08/2024 22:40

Girls I need a talking to.

I’m abroad, in a freaking BOILING country and today just messed up all my timings and when my friend said ‘let’s just grab a KFC‘ I said sure. It was gross and I was so hungry and didn’t enjoy it. I feel sluggish and dreadful now.

I am having an awesome time BTW - but need to reset and start over tomorrow. Just done my 6th 7.5mg jab.

CatTraveler · 11/08/2024 22:43

I think I have had my "worst" appetite suppression so far today (1st week of 5mg).:-)

Went out to lunch with my husband today (who doesnt know about me doing MJ) and I managed half the meal and a milkshake and that was me stuffed - forced down a slice of toast and 2 poached eggs a wee while ago and dont think I can eat anything more.

Stuff happens - don't beat yourself up over it. It is completely normal to occasionally eat rubbish food. Try not to dwell on it and find something tomorrow that you enjoy. And have a great holiday!

I wouldn't worry about that at all, you're on holiday. It's a shame you didn't enjoy it though.

If it makes you feel any better I had a mcdonalds yesterday, I'm not on holiday and it wasn't my first on MJ 😄

AgathaMystery · 11/08/2024 23:16

I’m just annoyed that it was so average and I ate it. I wouldn’t have minded if it was incredible

FlappyFish · 11/08/2024 23:29

@AgathaMystery ah and this is the thing with food. We think it’s going to be amazing and give us that happy rush. After this long on MJ you don’t get that hit. Food fills a little hole lin your tummy your head moves on and goes full. But the pre-MJ you is now chastising yourself.

You ate some food. It wasn’t great. It fulfilled a need. You cannot spend your life forever more thinking good and bad and ooh that was worth the cals or wasn’t. It was just food.

That’s your teeny talking too.

PS. KFC will probably help the MJ constipation. It always went straight through me. Added bonus there? ;)

Have a great holiday.

lol yea this is the worst

SilverHeels · 12/08/2024 06:27

@AgathaMystery hopefullly today you are feeling better and can reset. I think success is based on how we cope with the failures. Pre MJ I would have hit the ‘fuck it ‘ button and followed bad food with more bad food as I had messed up. as long as we move on and get back on track it will be fine.

I just weighed after 5 days and was amazed to be another 1.6 lb down. I felt I was hungry for a few days and ate more than I had been but clearly didn’t stray into true fuck it mode. I was away for a long weekend and had a day where I drank quite a lot too which I have not done since being on MJ.

I have a quiet week coming up so hoping to get nearer my next mini goal.

SW 197lb BMI 36

mini goal 159 I want to be under 160 !
GW 139 I think but have never been that weight as an adult so will see what it looks like.

Do you really mean 'best' suppression?! I was a bit confused reading this!

Did you calorie count? I bet it adds up to a fair bit still with the milkshake! A large milkshake has around 600 calories. Had you not really had suppression before? I tend to have water with meals so I don't fill up on liquids.

Some days I've really strong suppression, but I never force food down - I know I will be hungrier at some point in the week so I make up for it then. Counting calories really helps to see the weekly average.

I used to force food down when I wasn't hungry and that's what got me here 😭

MathildaMattie · 12/08/2024 07:42

Woo hoo, I finally reached my goal weight! Ideally I’d like to lose a few more pounds to give me a bit of flex, but am planning on doing that whilst reducing my dose slowly.

zava don’t support maintenance - does anyone have any tips?

BellaCriesAndThatsAlright · 12/08/2024 07:44

Morning everyone. I've had visitors all weekend so I've not been keeping up. They brought so much food and wine with them and I really struggled. I eat and drank far less then usual but feel dreadful this morning. No one had noticed my weight loss but I didn't expect it as it is relatives I don't see very often and I'm not sure they had seen my at my fattest.

I got quite excited yesterday as I ordered from MedExpress inthe morning and it was approved and apparently dispatched within a couple of hours. Unfortunately the tracking is still on "awaiting package" this morning so it looks like it will spend the day warming up in the heatwave and turn up warm tomorrow. Why do they do this? They must get so many complaints.

Well done on the losses all. I'm unexpectedly down this morning.
