Is the issue for Med Express that higher dosages are coming out faster because they have less customers on them?

Could be, mine is a 7.5

Possibly but wasn't the case for me. I'm on 10mg.

Happy Friday everyone!

Very odd to post these stats now, but here goes!

Height 5’7
Age 42
SW: 14.1/14.3 (yes I know. Daft. I was 14.1 when ordered, 14.3 on the day I took the first jab and I have used both.
Start Date: 17th Feb

I can’t post the weekly losses anymore as it’s buried and I stopped tracking tbh.

Current weight: 9.12

Titrating down. On 5. Drop to 3.75 next week. Still losing on maintenance.

Size 10 from a 16. Waist is 28 inches from 34.

Keep going and trust the process!!!!

guestusername · 09/08/2024 15:43

I logged into my nhs app earlier and was having a nosey through, and as well as the letters from MedExpress, there are entries relating to my BMI as well which correspond with the dates of the letters and have not been reported by me. ME must be reporting that as well. I’m not bothered by it as I’ve nowt to hide but it surprised me when I saw it 🤷‍♀️

RachelGreensHair · 09/08/2024 15:59

Is a 1kg loss per week on 2.5mg a good loss?

Yes, it's 2.2 lbs, which is what is considered a maintainable weight loss on any kind of weight loss programme.

Nervousmoosegoose · 09/08/2024 16:11

Hi wanted to check in as I’m seeing others do and thought it’s a great way to see it written down and give us a boost! I started on the 27th July

SW: 83.1kg
CW: 77.9kg
GW: 50kg

just ordered my 2nd pen going up to 5mg I’m seeing lots are having side affects with this one…hopefully not too bad I hope!

See you all next week with hopefully some more losses, good luck everyone!

WitchyBits · 09/08/2024 16:33

My mounjaro injection turned up today. I feel really nervous which is silly as I inject myself with medication every two weeks.

Tell me this ridiculous dithering about the first jab is normal?

BondiTree · 09/08/2024 16:35

Weigh day for me, lost 2lb this week. Was hoping for more but it’s something :)

CW- 15 stone 11lb
GW- 14 stone

I noticed similar on my app but entry re BMI was from a practice nurse so assuming they were checking BMI according to their very outdated records. I'm surprised as my practice doesn't strike me as particularly proactive about anything so pleased, in a way, that they're making the effort to check that only people with obesity are accessing the drugs. Presumably they'd have got in contact if I was actually a skinny minnie.

Thank you it's hard not to get distracted by other people's big losses but trying to remember that any loss is good and going in the right direction!

NCfor24 · 09/08/2024 16:45

My MedExpress order from Monday was approved today so now awaiting despatch.

For the poster concerned about not having evidence of last pen, I last ordered from MedEx at end of May so I sent them the GP letter from Zava which shows all details needed, and that was fine.

I've also noticed new BMI records on my NHS app so they must be logging them from the weights provided when I order pens.

SW 14st 0lb
CW 11st 1lb

My first goal was 11st by end July so I'm a little behind but that's fine, I'm happy. Next GW will be 10st and I think from then I'll be able to set a final target. I'm losing an average of 1.8lb per week according to my tracker but have lost 3.25lb this week! Not aware of doing anything different and it was my 6th week on 10mg so not related to a dose increase. So I guess the whooshes can come at anytime...keep the faith!

GoodLuckBabe · 09/08/2024 17:11

Hello all, any recommendations for dumbbells? I want to get 3 and 5kg to start with but will hopefully move on to heavier in time. I am armed with a useful looking book ‘Owning your menopause’ which has an introductory strength training section. In my 20s I was a Body Pump regular so I am hoping it will come flooding back, but I am very out of practice so starting slow with lots of core work to begin. Any tips on dumbbells or anything else strength-related?

Absolutely normal. That first jab feels momentous. Not only because it's a needle that you have to stick in your body but also the unknown journey that lays ahead of you.

susiedaisy1912 · 09/08/2024 17:26

Does anyone else find that some weeks the appetite suppressant stays with you for nearly the whole week until the next jab day and other weeks by day 4 it's well and truly worn off and you could eat a horse. My injection day is Sunday but yesterday and today I'm ravenous. Granted I'm still only on 4mg as I've had to titrate up slowly due to a bad reaction to the jump from 2.5 to 5mg.

Definitely normal to feel nervous, I felt like that for my first 2 injections. I did the third yesterday and didn’t feel nervous. Doing anything for the first time is definitely nerve wracking and being cautious of the unknown.

Henleyfitness on Instagram has a free 10 week plan for beginners, with equipment variations based on whether you're using a gym or working out at home. She is an acquired taste (lots of swearing, for example) but I've found her plans pretty solid and easy to follow. I've since progressed to being back in the gym with a bit more confidence, and am absolutely loving it!

Good luck getting started!

ItsAlrightDarling · 09/08/2024 17:53

Further update on my MedExpress order, I’ve just had an email to say it’s been dispatched and will arrive tomorrow. So ordered yesterday, prescribed and dispatched today.

WitchyBits · 09/08/2024 17:53

Well I thank you all for the reassurance. I've taken the first injection.

SW- 110kg /17st 4lb
GW- 75kg /11st 11

I'm 5ft 6 and big boned with the build of a rugby player and I look ridiculous if I'm any lighter than that. I'd be happy to get to 80kg if I'm honest.

EXCITED!!

WitchyBits · 09/08/2024 17:54

Oh and I ordered mine from Phlo on Tuesday lunchtime and it was delivered today.

Hi, how l long have people been waiting on Medexpress sending out orders? I placed my order with them on Sunday and still haven’t haven’t been prescribed. It’s annoying, feels like they’re prioritising new customers over continuing ones 🤬. I’m stuck with them as I have a bmi under 30 now.

I'm an existing customer and I ordered Sunday and received my pen on Wednesday.

How strange yours is still delayed!

imnottoofussed · 09/08/2024 18:14

Annoyed as my pen wouldn't twist for my bonus dose so I did it with my teeth and then the plunger wasn't pushing the medication out

So that's a spare dose in the bin.

I just don't think I'd cope with the size of the needles on the insulin ones or do they do some the same size as the Mounjaro ones? I'm scared of extracting and injecting it incorrectly

Snozzlemaid · 09/08/2024 18:22

The syringes I have are a little longer but still very fine.
I was certain I wouldn't be able to inject myself that way but like using the pen it's actually easy to do.

SilenceInside · 09/08/2024 18:23

@imnottoofussedaccording to the "site with all the info" link from the OP, the suggested insulin needles are the same gauge, but longer than the ones that screw onto the pen.
