There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

just as a bit of an update.. i am having surgery on wednesday and have been advised not to take my injection on sunday as normal... i don't know why this makes me nervous. i am 3lb from my target, but i like having the crutch behind me that takes away the food noise and craving...

wish me luck...

Best of luck with the surgery and the issue surrounding the injections! You're very close to your goal, well done!

I definitely qualify as a slow loser! I have been going up and down by one or two pounds for FOUR WEEKS! I'm post menopausal and insulin resistant so my losses are much slower even though I'm heavier than most on these threads.
Because I KNOW I'm eating fewer calories than I use, and I LOVE the lack of food noise I wasn't too worried, I'm sure the scales will move at some point.
However today I measured, having not done that in the last month and I've lost two and a half inches off my waist and FIVE inches off my abdomen!
It was a bit of a shock. I'm happy with that and I'm sure the scales will catch up. 😄

LeafUsAlone · 20/07/2024 19:47

Hi @MoreThanJustANumber, well done on the inch loss! Slow losses on the scales are very frustrating, but it just goes to show that it can show up in other ways!

Thank you for the motivation, it's good to remember this is about more than just the scales!

well i did my weekly weigh in today, as its a habit more than anything now.. and as predicted about 1lb off!. its going to kill me not to inject tomorrow and i am convinced that by thursday when the op is over and i can inject i'll have gained back off of the 3.5 stone i've lost and then some!

You never know! I know some people who delayed injections due to holidays etc still felt reduced food noise and appetite for a while after the time they would normally have injected. But at the same time, try not to put pressure on yourself, you're going through something quite traumatic for your body to go through.

Best of luck with it!

@MoreThanJustANumber I can definitely relate, I'd PUT ON last week and that 1 kilo is definitely yo-yo-ing. The excuse for a waist that I have is smaller but can't say I've noticed any difference in the stomach 😣. However, it's my arms and legs that I'm really noticing. My bingo wings are a LOT smaller, but while not too bad to begin with, my thighs and legs have really shrunk and I have next to no cellulite whatsoever now! Who'd have thought it?

3rd week of 5mg coming up later, as is my weigh in. 🤞

LeafUsAlone · 24/07/2024 21:48

My weight dropped down again this morning to my lowest so far. It has been up and down for 2 weeks, so Im trying not to focus too much on the numbers. I found pictures Id taken almost a year ago and my face is definitely a little less bloated looking anyway!

Hi there and thanks for starting this thread. I’m a slow loser too but like many of you, am hoping that means it will stay off once I’m no longer taking it. I’ve had a weight problem all my life with a few brief periods of being slim. Sadly I’m an emotional/stress eater.
I started way back in mid March with a SW of 18.5. Currently at 15.13 so slightly under 2.5st lost with a good 3.5 still to lose. On 10mg at the mo as constantly swapping suppliers to get the cheapest deal and not all let you start at the next level.
also trying to follow 16:8 with a low carb diet too but the darned fat is very stubborn.
sadly very few people hav noticed the loss but it’s nice to fit into clothes I’ve been holding onto for a few years.

knackeredcat · 25/07/2024 08:27

Just over 4kg weight loss now after 7 weeks - again, that last kg fluctuates as in this recent heat I've barely been eating during the day. Food noise has been killed off for the most part, something I've never experienced before in my forty odd years!

Next week will be the last dose of 5mg plus whatever I can squeeze out of the 5th dose, then onto 7.5mg.

Finally, I've picked up some pace! Hoping 7.5mg will bring greater losses 😺

This thread has been a real help 😊

LeafUsAlone · 25/07/2024 18:16

Welcome @timeIretired and well done on your losses!

Well done @knackeredcat! Fingers crossed for the next dose for you!

Has anyone else found themselves forgetting to drink as well as eat? I keep realising I haven't drank anything for hours!

I started 7 weeks ago on mounjaro and have lost a princely 4.5lbs. I did a month of 2.5 and am now on 5 with a 7.5 pen in the post. I don’t really understand why I’m not losing but wondering if the issue may be that it is not what I eat that is the problem but the fact that my job is 100% sedentary and long hours. Maybe for me it is about lack of exercise and not calorific intake.
I must say I think I look thinner in the face but that might be wishful thinking.
im terrible at drinking water / does that really make a big difference?

LeafUsAlone · 27/07/2024 18:30

@Delphigirl Ive read on other threads people saying to keep up the hydration. Im not sure if it's for weight loss or to keep the side effects at bay though. The slow losses can be very disheartening. Im trying to focus on the NSV now. I compared my face with a selfie from the hairdressers back in January, and while it isn't a massive difference, I do look less bloated. Also some of my clothes have been feeling looser the last few weeks. Maybe keep an eye on inch losses as well as the scales to help keep morale up!

Thanks @LeafUsAlone … urgh me and measuring tapes don’t mix. Maybe I should though…

wizzywig · 27/07/2024 18:35

Am very happy with the slow but steady loss. I have no loose skin touch wood

I hate them too! Maybe some items of clothing you could use as a form of measurement instead?

@wizzywig Well done on the steady losses and brilliant you have no loose skin so far!! It is annoying to think that I might lose the weight only to still have body hang ups over things like loose skin, but I hope to feel so much better overall that it wont mar the experience too much - fingers crossed!

SO relieved to find I'm not the only one. Been on Wegovy since April - on the second injection of my first 2.4 box so nearly at 20 weeks and I've lost just under a stone in total. Nothing at all the last four weeks! I do have a lot to lose but I'm active - 10,000-15,000 steps every day and 2-3 classes a week (spin or dance) and I'm watching calories to a point. My body is changing (although slowly) but my weight is exactly the same. Depressing as I can't help thinking of the money spent to loose a stone in 4 months!

Delphigirl · 29/07/2024 11:16

But loss of a stone is great - if you are that active I am sure you have also turned a lot of fat into (heavier) muscle so I bet you look much better than the mere weight loss would suggest.
I’ve lost another lb so 5.5 in almost 8 weeks. I keep telling myself slow but steady weight loss is still weight loss!

Delphigirl · 29/07/2024 11:17

Actually it’s only been 6.5 weeks. I should stop being so hard on myself!

LeafUsAlone · 29/07/2024 17:32

@whyw you sound almost exactly like me in terms of timeframe and losses. I dont do as many steps but have upped my exercise recently. Well done for keeping on, keeping on!

I took this screenshot from one of the other threads because I thought it was useful information, especially if I was feeling frustrated with my losses. Thought I'd share it here in case it helps others. Unfortunatly I cant remember who wrote the post or which thread - sorry to the original poster!

Haven’t lost anything this week. Haven’t gained either. Hmmm

LeafUsAlone · 03/08/2024 12:30

Same! But Im going to be a stubborn whatsit and keep going! Im focusing on gentle nutrition and joyfull movement to keep me going, and Im putting weightloss lower on the list of priorities again
