There are so many weight loss injection threads, but I thought I'd start this for anyone feeling a bit deflated by their slower than average loses. It can be disheartening to see others losing multiple lbs per week when it is a slower process for some.

Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good Christmas.
Ive been on holiday. Stayed in a hotel so had breakfast every day which I don’t normally have, lots of big meals and lots of alcohol. I’ve put on 2.5lbs. I think I’d normally put on at least 7lbs and this time I know it will be off in a week or two so don’t feel miserable at all. To be fair, several times my teenage son finished the chips on my plate, or even my beer! Both would have been unheard of before the jabs.
I actually feel as motivated as I would starting a new ‘diet’ in January - I need to start exercising to help keep the weight off long term so already looking at options there.
I’m about to take my first 12.5 dose, wish me luck!

That's really good

Thanks so much for this post. Really needed to hear this! Thanks for perking me up. I have been on holiday since 15th December and not back until 2nd January. Been on MJ since August and been really strict, including previous holidays but this time I have gone completely off track.. was feeling SO bad. Before I came away I had only 7 pounds to get to my goal and was very motivated. Was feeling so low and angry with myself that I haven't been in control however I have really enjoyed a few drinks and some nice food while away. Really scared about maintenance too.

Don’t feel bad! Life is for living. You have your strategy for getting back on track after your holiday, and unlike other diets, this one definitely works! Enjoy the rest of your holiday x

I too spent a lot of my down time on holiday thinking about maintenance. I still need to lose a stone so hope that will be gone by Easter. I’m with Medexpress but am starting to look to move for a maintenance provider. I’m thinking Cloud at the moment as they let you do month on, month off. I think that would help practise the new good habits on the ‘off’ month. Medexpress are so good with delivery though, I have to have it arrive at the weekend and I’m not sure how efficient other suppliers are. I don’t want to pay more for the pens than I can get elsewhere either.

Many thanks for your reply. I swapped to Oushk because of their maintenance plan, however it's quite expensive, so maybe I will look at Cloud. I like the idea of one month on then one month off. I have 7 pounds left (or more, after holiday) and I still won't be in healthy BMI. Depends on whether they accept me. My BMI is currently 26.9. At 9 stone BMI will be 25.4

@Azuresky68 Exactly what @Sadteacher said, what a brilliantly supportive post. And thanks for telling us about Cloud, SadT, that sounds like a nice model. I don’t think relaxing a bit while on holiday has any meaningful implications for when you reach maintenance. I mean, we’re all guessing, not having got there yet, but it’s “normal person” behaviour to eat differently on holidays, then come back to regular eating once home. I think we’re all scared for just one reason: because we’ve all lost then regained in the past. So we think history will repeat itself. But we’re NOT doing the same old pattern. Mj has given us a new path. I don’t think we can assume that anything will stay the same! You carry on having your lovely break, remember what you’ve achieved and then just come back to “normal”. We’ll be waiting for you with open arms!

letshavetea · 30/12/2024 09:31

Good Morning everyone. I’ve just taken dose 14 (4mg). Weight loss total 10 and a half pounds. Weight is 12 stone and half a pound. Fingers crossed I’ll be in the 11’s soon! Taking doses slowly as have still had side effects of constipation and heartburn. I aim to be up to 5mg next Sunday with the bonus dose.

Thanks once again for the support I needed. Always a good place to come when having a wobble x

BackToWegovy · 30/12/2024 10:36

I have decided to draw my Christmas line this morning and go back to my no sugar, no snacks rules and am about to buy my healthy lunch food. I have gained 700g or 1.5lb over Christmas with my rules relaxation but still on the Wegovy (1mg). Don’t think I can complain too much about that.

Ifyounevergiveup · 30/12/2024 11:01

@Pinkyp22 omg Pinky, your post was on the end of a page and I’ve only just seen it! Please tell me the slurry has stopped. It really is a frightening experience the first time it happens. Yes, Imodium has been my saviour but I can imagine it’s a bit of a dilemma if constipation is usually a problem! The weird thing is, I have NEVER lost weight as a result, which feels deeply unfair! Hope you’re feeling better. Did you get the really loud stomach noises as well?!🤭

Ifyounevergiveup · 30/12/2024 11:04

@BackToWegovy what a RESULT! A 1.5lb gain is fabulous! You have found your new groove, clearly!

BackToWegovy · 30/12/2024 12:10

Aww, thank you. Trying to decide whether to go another 4 weeks on 1 mg after next week’s dose or go up to 1.7 or a stepping stone by counting clicks. I have been absolutely fine on 1 mg this time but last time round I did one dose at 1.7mg and was quite ill (then I cut down to 0.85 from that pen and started gradually gaining weight before I switched to Mounjaro). My supplier does a deal for a 1 mg and a 1.7mg pen so I might go for that and when I get to the 1.7mg I will make it last 5 weeks and see how I get on.

Ifyounevergiveup · 30/12/2024 12:16

@BackToWegovy I’m a big fan of getting a bigger pen and counting clicks; often saves money (on Mj prices at least). If it’s working you don’t need to change anything, but if you’re on the cusp of shall I go up or shan’t I, I think it’s a great option. Either way, I’m so glad to hear that a second go at Wegovy is working for you!

Pinkyp22 · 31/12/2024 04:02

@Ifyounevergiveup
It did pass yes, feeling much better now thank goodness.

Pondering as insomnia has got me tonight / this morning
For a few months now I've noticed a few things
1, I get this achy pain in my right side, now I know don't panic it's not so bad. At first it would be at the end of day whilst sat on the sofa. I'd lay down and it would be gone. Then I started to notice on days im sat down for most of the day, uni days or full days doing phlebotomy clinics, very uncomfortable.
Last week it was more prominent and I thought ok what's going on.
2, I feel like my neck is more prominent, now I have lost 3 stone so this may just be the result, and I'm picking apart my appearance. Of course I never paid a lot of attention to my neck before so can't say. I did get a ANP at work to examine my neck and stomach - she wasnt convinced my neck is anything other than normal. Slightly tender in the gallbladder region, so great have got a telephone call with my GP in a few weeks.
I don't know what to think. Ita has made me want to pause my injections, but also knowing if I do Id have to start back at 2. 5 again 😒, on thr other hand I'd be intrested to see how I'd fair without the injection. Interestingly I don't think ive ever felt as good as I did when I was on 5mg! I literally felt so good, perhaps I coukd go back to 5mg.

NaivePrey · 31/12/2024 12:17

Hope everyone had a good break! Like @BackToWegovy I am drawing my no / low sugar line today as I've put on 1.5lb over the last week. I didn't overeat but the quality street, celebrations and home made sausage rolls obviously didn't help! 😪

@Pinkyp22 - I'd get yourself checked out to be 100% sure. Although I find if I read too many threads / posts about WLI with people talking about their side effects - I start feeling the same. My weird twinges include pains in my calves and on the side of my hips - which I think is due to some of the excess padding moving away. I've only lost 7/8 kg but my neck is also looking a bit turkey like - so maybe you are just noticing differences which you didn't see before.

@Ifyounevergiveup being bored by food - this is exactly how I felt at my parents over Christmas. It doesn't matter what it is - I didn't feel interested! My family don't know I'm on MJ and were very perplexed when I was turning down puddings but I just said I was feeling under the weather!

Hope everyone has a fantastic new years and 2025!! 🤗
I have a target of a big holiday in June so I would like to have lost another 2 stone by then so I am comfortable in a bikini!

Sadteacher · 31/12/2024 12:43

@Pinkyp22 I had a miserable phase about my appearance too. I am now strongly feeling I’d rather have a scraggy neck than remain fat. My daughter has lost the same amount of weight as me (just through small changes, the joy of being young!) and we both had a funny afternoon looking at pictures of us from last year. I feel embarrassed of how I looked then and it reminded me of how miserable it made me. Shows how much weight is linked to our emotions though.

2025 - the year I will be able to pick up any size 12 and it will fit! I am around a pound more than I was before Christmas. My first 12.5 dose has kicked in today so I’m ready to lose the next half stone, however long it takes!

Ifyounevergiveup · 31/12/2024 16:00

@Pinkyp22 so glad you’re feeling better and wise words as ever from all on here. Checking things out is of course always wise, you’re in the right job to know that, but when you think about how your body is changing I wouldn’t worry too much about it if you can help it. Get a Kindle and read yourself back to sleep! Have a happy New Year’s Eve, everyone, and thank you so much for your friendship. Finding this thread has been as valuable to me as finding Mj! ❤️

Sadteacher · 02/01/2025 08:59

@Azuresky68 Are you back from your hols yet? I have weighed in today and lost the 4 lbs I put on since mid December in just 4 days! I wish I lost this quickly every week!
So I’m back to where I was before Christmas- 3 injections to stay the same weight, but have to remember I’d be 10lbs heavier over a normal Christmas and holiday.

My DH wants to do dry January- I don’t really as a glass of wine is my daily treat, but figure it might accelerate my weight loss for a few weeks!

How is everyone else faring after Christmas?

BackToWegovy · 02/01/2025 09:23

Well done. I have been back to the food rules since Monday and this morning have reached a new lowest weight for this time round. Really pleased with that and a bit shocked. Hoping to keep going on down through January and on into 2025 and nothing to go wrong with supply or side effects.

Sadteacher · 02/01/2025 13:37

@BackToWegovy woo Hoo! That’s a brilliant feeling!

Azuresky68 · 03/01/2025 17:07

Happy NY everyone. Here's to a fabulous 2025 and congratulations on getting through a tricky time of year for many. Just checking in as I am back from my holidays. Will catch up properly very soon. I don't plan to weigh for another week as it will get me down if I have gained. I am still on pen 2 of 10 mg. Just done my 1st dose. Not sure what to do next. Currently looking out for suppliers offering maintenance plans and am going to ask on the main thread about that. Best wishes to everyone ❤️

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/01/2025 11:37

@Azuresky68 Ooh, do let us know what your maintenance research finds! Happy New Year to you too, and don’t be too worried about the scales; we seem mostly happy. I usually put on eight pounds at Christmas. This year? One. And I didn’t stint myself at all, I just didn’t feel the usual loss of control so didn’t end up bingeing. This truly is a miracle drug!

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/01/2025 12:13

@BackToWegovy congratulations! What a fantastic achievement and it’s still technically Christmas! Brilliant!

Azuresky68 · 04/01/2025 15:00

@Sadteacher yes I am back and decided not to weigh yet! Don't worry about needing 3 injections to stay the same, just focus on what you have achieved and how much better you feel in January 2025. I read that the average weight gain over Christmas and NY is 7 pounds.. no idea where the figures come from! Backnon My Fitness Pal today and trying g to decide whether to go up to 12.5 for my last 7 pounds..Ousch has an offer that expires on Monday.

Azuresky68 · 04/01/2025 15:09

@Ifyounevergiveup I am still investigating maintenance options. I am happy with Ousch but Cloud sounds interesting as they let you pause injections with no charge. I am wondering how long they let you pause for? Ousch let you pause but you have to pay £20 a month tonpause. So far they have been great and offer regular discounts. They have 3 options for maintenance - all on their website. They do live Q/A on their FB page..one tonight but aimed at newbies. Looks like there are several prescribers offering maintenance now. Pharmulous, Cloud, Ousch, IQ and The Family Chemist. For me it's cost and the option to pause and go back on without a big gain. My BMI is currently 27 and aiming for 25.
