I am loving how well everyone is doing and how nice and supportive this thread is continuing to be.

Today is my official weigh in day and I have just injected my week 3 injection (so 2 weeks on MJ)

I lost so much on the first week I was getting a bit worried about what was going on but it has evened out and I have had a sensible loss of 2lbs this week.
My appetite has come back somewhat , but I have no desire for unhealthy snacks or Easter eggs which is a total win. My desire for wine has come back a little, so I had a few glasses after work Thurs night ( work in finance, had to toast end of financial year !) But with a little will power I have cut down enormously.
I've been pretty active this week : body pump x 2, yoga , netball, spin.

I am seeing my LDR DP next week so am hoping he notices! ( I'm another one keeping the alchemy close to my chest)

SW : 13st7
CW: 12st 6
GW : 10st

Starting week 3

Hello
At 18 stone for what feels like forever and food ruling and ruining my life. I want to bite the bullet and try an injection.
Have been looking at medexpress and can't decide between wegovy or mounjaro, can anyone help me decide between the two so I can order today.

Thankyou

Hey, I believe that Mounjaro had better weight loss results and have less side effects.

Whatever you decide don't forget to use one of the discount codes for MedExpress :)

@Imgoingtobefree
You’ll be fine! I have dumbell weights and a
kettlebell and have been using them every day and seem to be trimmer around the arms. I think the most you can lose is about 4lb of fat a week.

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 13:56

i just done my first injection but my hands were slippery from lotion i applied and i haven't felt any pain injecting

Now im worried i wasted my fist dose , can you please take a look at how my skin looks now ( injected about 10 mins ago )

is it normal or it didn't pierce my skin ? but surely if it didn't then id feel
liquid running down my stomach?

i don't know where there to inject again ? what do you thinks guys ? i'm stressing 😩

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 13:57

Do you support to have little blood after injection? x

KeepingUndercover · 30/03/2024 14:01

@MehNotSure it'll be fine. The needle is super fine and I've never felt it go in. If it hadn't gone in the liquid would be over you instead.

phew 😰 thank you so much

Wonkypictureframe · 30/03/2024 14:03

Yep, I’ve felt no pain, never really felt the needle, and had no marks afterwards. I inject into my plentiful stomach fat.

yeah , i thought i haven't felt any pain as my gut has layer of fat around 😂

so makes sense x

I felt the same after my first injection this morning, but reasoned that as there was no liquid on my skin, it must have gone in.
It actually started to sting a little about 15 minutes afterwards, which was reassuring, and I can now see a small puncture mark.

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 14:08

It says that this medication is clinically effective at 5mg , but i got 2.5mg , that makes no sense then .

So first month it won't be working that well ? X

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 14:09

@plinter we will be experts soon enough 😂

It is worrying first time you do it .

ineedmoresleepnow · 30/03/2024 14:16

Oh its so inspiring this thread reading all of the success everyone is having!
I injected Thursday night for the first time and was super super grumpy yesterday. Not sure if it was connected or just as I was up in the night with a poorly child but it was lucky I was in the office by myself for once.
Compared to saxenda I'm not finding that I am unable to finish a meal in the same way as yet, but I'm not thinking about food at all and finding it easy to resist which is a big change.

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 14:22

So if it's clinically proven to work at 5mg and not 2.5mg why do they start you on 2.5 and will you still feel less hungry on such low dose ?

X

Moanranger · 30/03/2024 14:25

Keeping Under Cover I don’t imagine I’ll be getting surgery anytime soon😂 my hospital trust is second worst in country for waiting lists, but thanks for the heads up!

X

You start on 2.5mg to get you used to the drug. As having the 5mg straight away could cause bad side effects.

But a lot of people lose well on the 2.5mg

It’s not clinically safe to start at 5mg

Titration is a way to limit potential side effects by taking time to see how your body will react to a drug. In titration, the medication is started at a low dose. Every couple of weeks, the dose is raised (“up-titrated”) until the maximum effective dose (“target dose”) has been achieved or side effects occur.

LoadsToLose · 30/03/2024 14:56

I would recommend that anyone thinking of taking this does their own research… it’s not a decision to make lightly.

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 14:58

@LoadsToLose thank you for explaining ❤️

Investinmyself · 30/03/2024 14:58

I’m due to have 4th dose of 2.5mg on Wednesday and my 5mg has been approved by pharmacy4u.
I was a bit wary re navigating Easter. I’m just eating much smaller portions and have been walking lots and lots of water. Still feeling really well. 7.5lb down since I started.

MehNotSure · 30/03/2024 15:00

i did my research, but now that i'm reading leaflet they included i see " clinically effective from 5mg"
so got a little confused that's all
X

Investinmyself · 30/03/2024 15:01

Most people posting have had appetite suppression on 2.5mg.
I can eat meals but am able to eat smaller portions and am not snacking.

that's amazing results! well done x

RunningAndSinging · 30/03/2024 17:10

I am coming to the end of my second week at 5 mg. Lots of Easter temptation around and I am not doing as well as last week avoiding it but still think it is easier than if I wasn’t on the medication. I am hoping to be able to go up to 7.5mg when I finish my current pen.

ChristmasLightsLover · 30/03/2024 18:12

How are we all feeling?

I completed four weeks at 2.5. Just moved to 5 yesterday. Feeling nauseous. Having reflux. Taken painkillers for headache. Trying to remember that it doesn't feel like this forever and I need to be patient whilst adjusting to the new dose.
