@Oldandcobwebby

That’s such great news!! Well
done and well done to Mrs Cobwebby!

I’m still on track for my goal weight on 20th August which would be 3 stone loss. Still on 0.5 but definitely noticing a slight uptick in hunger. Like you I’m trying to train myself to eat more healthily and smaller portions so going to stick to 0.5 before tapering down and off like you did.

Achieveanything · 18/07/2024 22:56

@bubbletubble
how are things going for you- things moving in right direction I hope?
@Oldandcobwebby great to hear from you and delighted you’re keeping up the good work! A little of what you fancy does you good.

im down to 12st 1lb. Scales look great- my middle, not so much… it is still very out of shape and I’m all over place with dress sizes.

still 14lb til the healthy BMI weight. (Eye roll)

food noise and hunger is returning but my ability to eat past amounts is not quite back.
the danger zones of 10am and 4pm are creeping back in…Counting calories is a good send and the empty booze cals are not where near the amount they used to be.

do I feel better for losing weight?- yes. Is my body in the place I want it to be? No.
this is a really good lesson for me though…

good luck everyone- every day is a step closer ☘️

@Oldandcobwebby That's amazing to hear it's all going well being off Wegovy!

@Achieveanything , are you off Wegovy too? It's been a while I've checked in here as I still have the longest plateau ever, so can't remember where everyone is at. Are you doing any strength exercises? It might help with the shape.

I've been on 1.7 mg for 8 weeks now, and have only lost about 2-3 lbs during this time. I've now added intermittent fasting, one or two days a week together with low carb on those days, even though eating same amount of calories, the time restriction of the eating window has helped a bit. It's much easier to fast with Wegovy for sure, I did 5:2 fasting about 10 years ago, lost lot of weight then, but it was much harder to maintain as hunger was bad.

I'm supposed to move up to 2.4 mg on Monday, ordered it via Boots on 8th of July as they messed up my order last time, so wanted to be nice and early. Went to pick up today and it's not in the pharmacy! They say Boots Online has not sent them the pen, so I called the Boots online pharmacy and they said the physical pharmacy had to call them and ask this to be delivered. So basically blaming each other and I'm now without a pen, no idea if they will get it by Monday. Have of course complained, but was told it's ok to delay it for 2 weeks. I don't want to delay it as I have holiday coming up in 3 weeks and want to see how I am on highest dose. Seems since they have started to clamp down on prescribing the Wegovy too easily, they have also messed up their delivery systems.

Hope everyone is doing well! 😊

Radish12 · 21/07/2024 12:29

Hello all, today I've hit my 4st loss, which is 25% of my starting weight. I've been taking stock of the situation a bit, so I'll put it here if you don't mind indulging me (maybe it'll be helpful to others).

I did 16 weeks on Saxenda last summer and lost 18lb before it became unavailable, then started on Wegovy in December but didn't really start tracking my losses until January. But I've basically been on injections for 50 weeks now (not including the break), and lost 56lb, which doesn't sound earth shattering but my goodness the number of years I've been trying to lose weight and just not been able to be consistent with it!

Female, 42, 5'11"
SW: 15st 13, BMI 31.1, size 18
CW: 11st 13, BMI 23.3, size 14
Total loss: 4st, 25% of my starting weight
I've been on the 1.7 dose for four months now (split into 2x per week)

I've lost 5.25" off my bust, 7" off my waist, and 7.25" off my hips. I have completely lost my double chin, which I was worried I'd be stuck with now I'm over 40.

I have a tiny bit of not-very-firm skin on my upper thighs but nothing drastic, and my bottom is not very pert. Elsewhere I'm unscathed, due to my height I suppose.

I take my blood pressure every week but it was always fine and has remained consistent. I use a sleep app which has noted that my snoring is down 5% (it was never a lot anyway) - most nights now I don't snore at all.

I feel amazing and so comfortable! I can curl up on the sofa, squeeze out of the car in a tight car park, put my shoes on and zip up all my coats with ease. Even yoga poses feel so different!

It has cost me in total £2,411.80 - that's for nine pens of Wegovy and three of Saxenda. A bit eye-watering when you add it all up, but so worth it. If you'd have said to me at any point in the last 10 years "you can be at your goal by this time next year year but it'll cost you £2.5k", I'd have snapped your hand off (and I dread to think what I've spent on Slimming World subs, books and meals in that time).

But now I've hit that 4st marker I find myself navel gazing a bit! I was aiming for a goal weight of 10st 13 which would be a 5st loss and take me just under the halfway point of a healthy BMI. But now I'm wondering if I'm happy as I am? I do have one more 1.7 pen which I've not started yet so that'll give me another four weeks, and take me up to a big event, so maybe I'll give it a final push for the next month and see where I get to?

What's in the back of my mind though is that if I discontinue before my ultimate goal weight, then decide actually I would like to lose a bit more, no one will prescribe it to me anymore! Whereas if it's a continuation of my current prescription and I explain that I want a final pen just to give me that bit more of a buffer, and perhaps wean me off gradually, then I stand more chance of having it prescribed?

Sorry for the long self-indulgent post - bit of a slow Sunday here! Hopefully it's useful/interesting!

ByCoolMoose · 23/07/2024 14:13

Thanks @Radish12 , that is really useful! Amazing weight loss as well 👏

bubbletubble · 24/07/2024 22:58

@Achieveanything it's going okay thanks. Another couple of pound down feel like I plateau for a while then a couple of pounds drop off. Trying to do some intermittent fasting alongside it so think that's helping (16/8).

I'm still nervous to go up to 1.7 so have been doing 1.3, so making the pen last for 5 weeks instead of 4, my final dose will be 1.6 so will see how I feel on that before deciding to take the full 1.7 dose.

Someone actually said to me today "you're looking slim" and made my day LOL. I think I've spent so long hating my reflection I still see myself as hugely overweight when in reality I'm not now.

2 stone 2lbs down since mid-March, really pleased. Got another 9lb to go to my ultimate dream weight, never ever thought it would be achievable before Weygovy.

On another note, still can't lose the mum pouch, anyone got any recommendations for everyday sucky-in pants? Don't need a full Spanx but just something I could wear under jeans I've lost quite a bit from my waist and I can finally see the shape of my hips! But the mum tum is still making me feel bigger than what I probably am now.

Cuzco · 25/07/2024 07:25

Hi, sorry I haven't kept up. I'm still using Wegovy but haven't been doing very well for a couple of months. Life has been a bit topsy turvy. I think I need to move up to the 2.7mg but it's SO expensive. What's the best price at the moment or are there any vouchers/clever deals? I can't easily see anything.

I never thought about doing two doses at this level. At the moment it seems to be lasting me but maybe I should... I take the injection on a Sunday and tonight I have taken myself off to bed as I am fancying a nibble, but recognize that I am not hungry.

starlilly88 · 29/07/2024 12:21

Not been on the thread for a few weeks. I plateaued for a while, then went on holiday so had a 2 week break. The appetite suppression did seem to last the 2 weeks and I started back on 0.5 with no side effects. I've been more hungry though as I ate so much on holiday. I did only put on 3lbs though, so happy with that.

I need to order another pen, and I normally order from Bolt. It is now asking for current weight, and I am now under 30 BMI with probably another stone or so to lose. For those who order from Bolt, will they still prescribe if under 30 BMI?

ByCoolMoose · 29/07/2024 16:54

My plateau continues - 1st week on 2.4 mg has produced very little loss, and I feel no different to 1.7 mg. On the positive note, it means still no major side effects, but on the negative, I still have some hunger and food noise. I do get full quick though, eating much less than I used to before W, so the no weight loss remains a mystery to me.

I'm going to do 2 months of 2.4 mg and if nothing changes, I might change to Mounjaro to get this last 1.5 stone off. Has anyone swopped? On FB pages I follow about the injections people seem to change to M once they plateau with W.

Very quiet here 😊
Just finished listening this DOAC podcast about Ozempic and the likes and what other effects it has besides weight loss, and it's very interesting - worth listening to.

Anyone had an issue ordering with ZAVA? I ordered last week and it hasn't even been dispatched yet, I'm due my jab tomorrow and it's not going to be here. I got it in 24 hours last month so not sure what's up.

MiserableButLovesFood · 02/08/2024 07:43

I've only lost 12.5lbs since I started in May. That's not much is it? Its not even noticeable for me 😂
I seem to lose nothing for 2 weeks every month and then it will drop down- it's a bit depressing! But I suppose it's going in the right direction.

I've got a hip issue and carpal tunnel at the moment so my exercise isn't what it should be.

ByCoolMoose · 21/08/2024 15:13

How's everybody doing? It's gone quiet here.

I've been on 2.4 mg for a month now, and again very little weight loss. That means I've more or less plateaued for ca 12 weeks now (only 4 lbs loss), which is quite disappointing. I did get some weight loss when I added intermittent fasting, but the last 2 weeks I have been on holiday in Crete, so no fasting. Good news - I only put on 1 lbs during the holiday! But then I didn't eat that much - with the heat and Wegovy, I didn't have much appetite. Ate mainly large salads with some meat or fish, but did have quite few beers and wines.

I've started second month of 2.4 mg, so I'll see how it goes. I still have about a stone to lose, so if nothing happens, I'm considering trying Mounjaro 😬

BlueMumma2018 · 21/08/2024 21:16

Hiya all
im back 😂
so I stopped wegovy completely in June I think. I had some left over but used the last of it then. Weight stayed the same from May until the school holidays hit, it was hot and ive eaten ice cream at every meal time! I put on 2kg all in all. It’s quite good for me. I never went back to drinking so I think it’s helped.
after umming and arring about it I’ve decided to give mounjaro a go. I still want to lose 2 stone.

I took my first jab on Saturday and thought it wouldn’t do anything as I had built up to 2.4mg of semaglutide with wegovy. But it has really worked to surpress appetite again! And I have no sicky/ weird stomach/ acid reflux issues at all..

Welcome back @BlueMumma2018 ! It's great to hear that the weight didn't come back with when you stopped.

It's gone very quiet on this thread, probably summer holidays.

My weight loss has completely stalled with the highest doses, so I've asked Boots if I can switch to Mounjaro too.

HoldMyCoffee · 23/08/2024 18:58

Hi,

Can I jump in and ask a question please? I've lost 20lb since I started and today would be my second week of 1mg.

My problem is I'm just SO rough with it that I'm useless for 3 days each time! I have no energy and literally don't leave my bed I don't want to stop but now the holidays are drawing to a close and it's going to be business as usual I'm stressing how to stop feeling so crap.

Is there any tips I'm missing?

Thank you

Striving4Better · 23/08/2024 19:12

@HoldMyCoffee You could try reducing the dose. How about counting clicks for 0.75? (Would be about 55 clicks, I think, from a 1mg pen).

HoldMyCoffee · 23/08/2024 19:16

I was thinking that but had no idea how many clicks to count! Thank you I think I will give it a try. I've also read some people have found it better in the leg than the stomach (I've been down a google rabbit hole this afternoon!) could be a load of rubbish but can't hurt to try!

Striving4Better · 24/08/2024 17:08

HoldMyCoffee · 25/08/2024 06:38

Wow thank you that's so helpful!

HoldMyCoffee · 27/08/2024 19:13

Just in case anyone wondered.. I did it in my leg and have had NO sickness - what a relief!

Mrsredlipstick · 29/10/2024 11:38

@Radish12 hello.
I know I'm late to this thread but I really couldn't find any tall people. I'm 5'10''.

I've lost five stone by myself and now need to lose the last four stone. I can't have mounjaro due to using methotrexate for RA.
Voy have prescribed wegovy.
If you don't mind me asking how has your journey continued?
