Just spoke to Bolt Pharmacy via their webchat and apparently Mounjaro isn't coming to the UK until April 2024!

Decided I cant wait until then so taken the plunge with Wegovy as they also had the cheapest price (£147 delivered).

Says delivery Tuesday so i've got a couple days to build up the courage for the injection 😬

That's not too far away though, that's good news.

The injection barely even counts as one! You honestly won't believe how small and thin the needle is, it's a walk in the park and I say this as someone who faints when they have jabs/bloods 😂

Hi! Made my profile in this forum just to participate in wegovy discussion. I am so worried and also it's not cheap. I am buying it this week. And worried. But I have been reading in wegovy FB group about loss of appetite and I am the heaviest I have ever been..

Eiwa · 15/01/2024 01:51

Thanks for this! I saved £50 due to your comment. I was about to buy it from boots £200

Toooldforthis36 · 15/01/2024 07:40

Waiting for my text from Boots to collect my first pen, excited and a bit scared…

freeandfierce · 15/01/2024 07:50

Just going into my third week, lost 9lbs so far. Biggest bonus for me is that I no longer crave alcohol. I was a heavy drinker - maybe half a bottle of gin daily. I know you can't drink much on Wegovy which was a concern for me but I haven't touched a drop. That's where my weight loss has come from as if I boozed I ate carbs. I've also overhauled my diet and am 100% plant based now, I was pescatarian. I cook from scratch daily instead of grabbing processed foods. Cut out coffee and upped water. Speed walk daily. Think Wegovy has given me the drive to do this. I get hungry, I get the headaches, feelings of nausea and constipation but mildly. I've used it to give me a starting point and I'm staying on the lowest dose for now.

PrivateMum222 · 15/01/2024 07:54

I started on ozempic in May last year and moved to wegovy 2 weeks ago. Have lost over 3 stone and am now 10st8, nudging a size 10 and no longer have a BMI of overweight. I feel brilliant - confident. And the constant thoughts of food have disappeared which is a revelation. Had some initial side effects (really bad indigestion) but they passed after about 3 months.

Pushkinini · 15/01/2024 07:58

Wow that's fantastic @PrivateMum222

I'd love to lose 3 stone in 7/8 months. Did you lose every week? I get really disappointed if I don't see the scales move downwards and then I get despondent and give up.

Toooldforthis36 · 15/01/2024 08:05

@freeandfierce and @PrivateMum222 - brilliant to hear this, all your success stories are spurring me on, what ws your initial weight loss like and did you actively overhaul your eating habits from the start or find it came naturally as the wegovy kicked in?

2Tired4Anything · 15/01/2024 08:26

@Eiwa

You're very welcome hun. Happy to help others out and it just goes to show the markup at Boots must be huge!

Had to scroll to the third page of google to find Bolt Pharmacy but their customer service has been exceptional.

@PrivateMum222

Love reading stories like yours, im so hopeful now starting my journey.

Herewegovy1 · 15/01/2024 11:57

Hi all. Can I join? Took my first injection last night before I went to bed. Looking to lose 6stone in total to get me back down to a healthy weight. Some mild side effects today- nausea when I woke up but that passed when I drank some water. Bit of gurgly stomach after breakfast but nothing I can’t handle.

Eiwa · 15/01/2024 12:25

That sounds optimistic to me. Alcohol is the main reason I am obese. I could easily finish 8 cans of lager every night. No more! If I will get night shiwers I will mix sugar free squash with sparkling water and drop of vodka,- if I will struggle...

My progress attached. Also need to quit the wine I sink every night though - if I'd done that, the progress would have been much quicker. Found I could drink normally on ozempic. Took 2nd wegovy jab on Friday and it's definitely harder to drink the same amount, I'm just too full.

Toooldforthis36 · 15/01/2024 13:05

@PrivateMum222 thanks so much for that, really well done 🎉 just remember to track my progress actually.

Wont be from today though, my local boots still waiting for stock, reckon maybe tomorrow 😫

I can't drink many fluids either without being full. The thought of alcohol makes me feel a bit sick! Very unlike me as I was craving in the morning that's how bad it was. I do t crave sugary food either but I do still get hungry. I still think you need to overhaul your diet in general but this seems to remove the cravings.

Amazing results, what an achievement to see that tracker. I'm weighing and measuring weekly.

Hi all. I’ve just gone through the consultation to go on Wegovy today after thinking about it for a few months. My weight has crept up to 14 stone and I’m just a bit miffed with myself that I’ve allowed it to go this far. I’m hoping that the cost alone motivates me to make some meaningful changes 😂

Any advice is appreciated to someone starting. Assuming I am approved to use it ofc.

Toooldforthis36 · 15/01/2024 16:58

Hey @Nicebloomers fellow newbie here 👋, just been approved and waiting for stock to arrive in boots (hoping tomorrow). Hope all goes well with approval and you are up and running soon 👍

Just go for it... it's been one of the best things I've ever done. Eight months in, I feel happy & confident and ozempic/wegovy has switched off that constant food chatter I was suffering from. Today, I realised at 2pm that I hadn't eaten lunch. Last year, I'd have been thinking about what massive, hot, calorific lunch, I was going to have whilst stuffing my face at breakfast. And whilst eating that meal at lunchtime, I'd have been thinking about what I fancied for dinner. I feel 'normal' - I finally understand how other people live - and am no longer eating rugby-player sized meals.

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 15/01/2024 22:14

@PrivateMum222 how much have you lost? I’m 9 weeks in and just over 1 st down, the past week has been first time I have had side effects - basically stomach cramps after I eat a couple of mouthfuls of anything! Hoping to lose another 2 stone at least, glad it is working so well for you.

LunaLovegoodsLeftEyebrow · 15/01/2024 22:16

Sorry @PrivateMum222 just scrolled back and saw you’ve lost over 3 st 😁

morekidsthanhands · 15/01/2024 22:32

Hi everyone! Wanted to join in. Just finished my first week and 6lbs down.
I'm using weight watchers glp1 program alongside is anyone else? I'm really enjoying it so far. It feels really positive to be aiming towards targets for protein, water etc rather than staying under calories. I feel like I'm eating a lot healthier than previous diets I've had.

Toooldforthis36 · 16/01/2024 18:49

@morekidsthanhands am doing my first ever jab tonight 😬

thinking I might sign up to WW app, is there much freedom in it or strict meal plans? X

Lots of freedom it basically gives you targets for protein etc but you can eat what you want around that. After the protein and the veg I don't tend to want anything else but I think the fact I could if I wanted is really helping.
I was already a member have been forever so thought I would have a look and it's actually decent. Feels more sustainable and positive long term than pointing things for ever!

Nicebloomers · 17/01/2024 12:03

My parcel just came so it’s official!

I will be a day behind you @morekidsthanhands as I’ll do the first jab tonight.

Mr Bloomers not currently being very supportive 🙄
