Hello, so nice to see everyone posting, well done to you all on your achievements - especially your milestones @Oldandcobwebby and @Achieveanything !

Thank you for posting your experience of Life After Wegovy @LadyWithLapdog - you make it sound tolerable so I am hopeful.

I've lost 2lb this week, bringing me to 12st 7, one more pound to 3.5 stone lost. I've had a lot on this past fortnight though and not been counting calories or eating well so I need to nip that in the bud. I have a flurry of big events happening in the first two weeks of June and am delighted to be able to wear the outfits I want to wear and not just whatever will fit, but I want to eat well and hydrate over the next couple of weeks to ensure I feel my best possible self.

Starting my second 1.7 pen today.

Nicebloomers · 20/05/2024 09:22

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all feeling good. I’ve not popped in for a while, I’ve lost a bit of focus after some wider family upheaval. I’m a bit concerned I’ve lost too much focus although the weight is still coming off slowly but steadily. I’ve been spacing out the doses further and I’ve stayed on 1mg rather than going up to a higher dose. I’m wondering if I should go up or stick with 1mg? I‘ve found the side effects less bothersome and also it’s cheaper lol Any thoughts? I think maybe I need to go up a dose and get serious again. I have about 2 stone to lose ideally. I do feel SO much better though. It’s been totally worth it so far.

Current stats-

SW -14 stone (end of Jan)
CW- 11st 13

Approx -1.5lbs per week.

Another question- I am going on holiday this weekend for a week (Italy). Should I skip a dose and feast or take my dose and pick at my meals?

Toooldforthis36 · 20/05/2024 09:55

Hey @Nicebloomers 👋

I know what you mean about the focus! But then again maybe it’s just getting used to not thinking about food all the time?

I’d stay on your current dose till post hols then re assess? Though interested to hear what a week skip does to appetite 🤔

I’ve done a second month on 1.7mg and debating whether or not to go to max strength next one? Took a while for nausea to settle a bit at 1.7mg but fine now. Could pretty much go one meal a day and a few snacky bits.

enjoy Italy!

SW 13st6lb
CW 11st 2.5lb

Nicebloomers · 20/05/2024 10:34

@Toooldforthis36 Thanks for your input. You’re making great progress! The nausea at 1.7mg is what is making me waver. If I take my last dose 1mg dose as usual then I suppose the higher dose might help me not continue with a life of pasta and Prosecco when I return home lol

What you said about one meal per day and snacks is how I am mostly. I start the day with a poached egg and a piece of toast whether I really fancy it or not as it completely stops any nausea . Then it’s either a snack at lunchtime and then a more normal dinner or if I eat too much at lunch I’m done for the day.

OhpoorMe · 20/05/2024 10:58

@Nicebloomers I wouldn't skip a week. I think the idea that we should/get to splurge for holidays/birthdays/parties etc is the slippery slope back to splurging when sad/happy/bored etc. I would keep going and just enjoy small amounts of lovely food.

I hit a new goal today - 20% of my body weight gone! Had been hovering just above it but suddenly dropped a bit extra over the weekend.

SW - 220
CW - 175
GW - 160

So 45 pounds gone and 15 (just over 1 stone!) to go. I'm 75% of the way. This has taken me about 6 months so far which was deliberate as last time I lost weight fast it a) wasn't sustainable (obviously given I'm doing this) and b) gave me a bit of loose skin.

LadyWithLapdog · 20/05/2024 23:50

Well done @Nicebloomers @OhpoorMe @Radish12

Re holidays, I’d carry on as usual. There’ll always be something “deserving” of a break but, unless it’s for medical reasons, I think it interrupts the flow and motivation.

I thought I was still a size 14, despite about 1 stone loss. I wore the same clothes, just looser fitting now. Then today I was in a rush before shops closed and I picked what I thought were size 14 trousers. They are 10 and they fit me! Also tops in a M rather than L. I have to get used to thinking of myself as thinner. My last injection was 6 weeks ago. I’m maintaining, but I’m exercising an hour a day most days. I get hunger pangs, though easier to ignore now than before.

Cuzco · 21/05/2024 21:47

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well and the weight is continuing to drop. I haven't posted for about a month... I've been really struggling and whilst I will RTFT and catch up properly, I hope you don't mind if I jump back in with a question.

I've just done the last jab of my second 1.0 pen. I'd been feeling a bit ropey (nausea in particular) towards the end of my last 1.0 pen so decided to stick with it, rather than jump up again. I asked on here at the time and it seemed like quite a few people do stick rather than increase where I'd assumed everyone automatically increased with each pen.

The thing is I don't think it's doing anything for me. See pic of my MFP weight graph to make the point. I still crave and binge chocolate. Meals are mixed good/bad. Portions mostly a bit smaller but could be better.

I'm pretty gutted because next month is my big calendar of social things (a sun holiday, a reunion and a family wedding amongst others) and I'd hoped to be a lot thinner than I will be 😢.

I need to order my next pen. I'm very tempted to step up to 1.7 to see if I can shed a fair bit in the last few weeks I've got before the wedding, BUT I'm going on the holiday for half term, so the first jab would be literally the night before flying to Spain away with two small DC. And I just don't know if it will make me feel rough?

If I don't do it, the way things are heading I might even put weight on again before the time of the wedding.

If you were me, what would you do? I was sure I'd order the 1.0 again but as I write this out, I'm thinking the 1.7 has got to be worth a try?

Wegovy
ImPunbelievable · 21/05/2024 22:03

@Cuzco that graph suggests you've dropped about 10kg in 4 months. Is that right?

Cuzco · 21/05/2024 22:21

@ImPunbelievable Almost 10kg, yes that's correct. And I am happy with that but still have a long way to go. Here's the rest of the graph which started in Feb 2021. I was on mat leave and it was covid. All I could do was walk DD in her pram round and round and round. I managed to stick to 1400 calories a day and lost more weight, more quickly.

But it all went tits up when cafes and pubs reopened, and then I went back to work, as you can see.

I know maintaining wherever I end up will be a huge hurdle I need to deal with on future, but for now I'd hoped with help of the wonder drug to have lost more.

Wegovy
LadyWithLapdog · 22/05/2024 08:18

@Cuzco it is going in the right direction, albeit slower than before. Re your holiday, maybe another week at the same dose, given you have side effects. Do the online pharmacies provide any advice about this, whether to continue or increase the dose?

LadyWithLapdog · 22/05/2024 09:01

@Cuzco I have a protein bar (Snickers, Mars do them), or protein chocolate bar from H&B or many other shops. It’s not too bad for calories (in the 150-250 range), has added protein, and satisfies the chocolate taste. It’s probably full of UPFs and what have you, but I eat much less rubbish overall. Max one a day.

ByCoolMoose · 22/05/2024 13:08

@Cuzco , I'll be in similar dilemma in August ( presuming I'm still on the meds) when we go for a 2 week sun holiday. I haven't stayed on same dose as the side effects haven't been too bad and I've been still having hunger bangs and food chatter, so will be moving up to 1.7 mg next week. It is 11 weeks until my holiday, and I have only lost 7 kg/ 1 stone in 11 weeks so far. If it continues at the same pace, and I only lose another stone in 11 weeks, then I will probably still be on the meds, most likely on the highest dose, as my goal loss is 3 stones, which would bring me into the healthy BMI range. At the moment I'm thinking I would continue taking it during the holiday to help with the life style change and the chance to maintain the weight loss after Wegovy, as I need to learn not to overindulge on holidays and other occasions. But I'm a foodie and love all types of food so not being able to enjoy it fully might dampen my mood considerably, so I do have mixed feelings about it.

Not sure it's helpful, hopefully others have been in your situation before and can share their experiences. I hope you keep us posted and let us know how it goes 😊

bubbletubble · 23/05/2024 09:40

Yes, they are the correct ones. Amazon also has them:

bubbletubble · 23/05/2024 17:26

@ByCoolMoose thank you x

Achieveanything · 24/05/2024 08:54

Morning all,

Weighing in:
SW: 15st 6lb
CW: 12st 12lb

total loss 38lb in 20 weeks.
would never have held firm without wegovy.

Still splitting doses on 1.7mg pen.
thank you for support and advice on this @bubbletubble the spare needles are available on Amazon.

i want to get down to a healthy weight so i plan on staying on 1.0mg dose until that happens. I have holidays planned but I’ll stay with it because I don’t want to undo the work I’ve put in so far.

Because my weight loss has been fairly gradual, no one has really noticed. I am not bothered as I’m really starting to feel the benefits of moving about easier and not feeling uncomfortable in my clothes. Reducing the dose has lessened the uncomfortable side effects considerably and not drinking has had an amazing impact on my weight- there are times I’d love to enjoy a glass or two of wine but it tastes awful and I don’t feel the effect so I just don’t bother. I have very little interest in fast food but I do get hungry and need to eat.

Its an expensive route to take but I’m delighted I did. I plan on staying on it until December and then starting 2025 in good habits from this one.

good luck all, have a fantastic bank holiday

Achieveanything · 24/05/2024 09:31

Sorry I’m 12st 10lb ⬆️
that’s why it’s a 38lb loss

well done @LadyWithLapdog a size 10 trouser is wonderful! Fantastic non scale victory! And to all the others losing, struggling and persevering- there’s no better feeling than being healthy!

LadyWithLapdog · 24/05/2024 10:01

Thanks @Achieveanything I hover around 71.5kg, so it would be good to lose another 1-2kg, but I’m just in the healthy BMI. I’m sticking to portion and snack control and exercising for the time being. My blood pressure is well controlled, but I haven’t ditched the meds yet. That wasn’t the goal but it would be excellent. Well done on 38lbs!

Radish12 · 25/05/2024 07:41

@Achieveanything No one noticed my weight loss either until I hit the 3 stone mark and then suddenly in the space of a week EVERYONE started commenting - it was so strange! So you might have that all to come in a week or two 😊

Radish12 · 25/05/2024 07:52

Weigh day today and 1lb off - that's only 4lb in May which is a dramatic slow-down, but I know I've eased up on exercise for various reasons and the choc and crisps have snuck in again 🤦🏻‍♀️

Looking at my data, I'm now at the weight I was on a big holiday in 2016 and although it's great as I've not been this light in 8 years, at the time that was the biggest I'd ever been and I felt so uncomfortable and self-conscious. So I'm trying to keep that in mind to stop myself getting too complacent. Going to get back into religiously tracking calories this week and also drinking some damn water.

On a more positive note, I've hit my 3.5 stone milestone, and it's the end of the month so it's measurement-taking time! Even though it's been a small-loss month I've still lost at least half an inch off every bit of my body that I measure. I've now lost 7 off my waist, 6.5 off my hips (and 5 off my boobs which is less welcome as there's not a lot there to start with).

I'm half way through my second month of 1.7 and I'm going to order the same again. If I feel like it's starting to become less effective I can always inject a bit closer together.

Have a good bank holiday weekend everyone!

Achieveanything · 25/05/2024 10:39

@Radish12 I know exactly what you mean about the lowest weight in 8 years but feeling massive at that time. I’m in same position.

i was 6lb lighter than now in 2014 and felt dreadful about my weight. At that point nothing fitted and I felt like an elephant I hated going on holiday and hid from the camera.
And I’m still bigger now….

But thats why I’m determined to keep up the Wegovy to really get into the healthy range and stay there.

This is the most I’ve ever lost in this time span and although, like you it’s variable week to week, it’s coming off and that’s the main thing. Plus my body is different post pregnancy and approaching the menopause.

Keep going, we’ll get there! 😊

Radish12 · 25/05/2024 11:55

Thanks @Achieveanything I'm glad you understand. I guess when you be used to always be slim and only put on weight in recent years (as opposed to having been big all your life), you're bound to feel differently about your weight loss at various stages.

(I mean the general "you" ("one"), not you specifically)

Oldandcobwebby · 27/05/2024 12:04

Time for my weekly accountability check-in.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

14 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day
Currently on 0.25mg

SW 197.3 lb
CW 166.8 lb

Total loss 30.5 lb
This week's loss 2.2 lb

I'm a bit late with my check-in. I've been unwell for a couple of days, and, to be honest, I just couldn't summon up the enthusiasm!

There's a bit of a buzz right now for being 11 stone 12.8 lb. Getting below 12 stone is another huge psychological milestone. I've already hit my target of a "normal" BMI, but ideally I'd like to be somewhere between 11st 7lb and 11st 10lb. It boggles my mind that I could have lost so much since the middle of February!

I've dropped my dose to 0.25mg, to start to wean myself off the magic of Wegovy. The plan is to keep on 1200 kcal a day for the next couple of weeks, then continue to calorie count to maintain my weight. I'm lucky that my wife started on Wegovy a month ago and has a long way to go, so the house won't be full of unhelpful temptations! She's lost half a stone already and is doing great. I'm really proud of her!

Congratulations to everyone on your successes this week! It's fascinating to hear everyone's stories, and see how the effects of Wegovy vary so much for us. I know this drug is expensive, but investing in your health is the best way to spend your money!

MiserableButLovesFood · 27/05/2024 12:12

Hi all!
I've been reading through all the posts and I'd love to join in.

I started Wegovy on Saturday, it seemed to work straight away and I'm really having to force myself to eat. I feel tired and last night I vomited.

It's so lovely not to be thinking about what I'm going to eat next!

My plan is to lose 2-3 stone, I'd love to feel how I felt when I thought I was fat; but actually wasn't ..,, I think I'd appreciate it more now!

Oldandcobwebby · 27/05/2024 13:15

Hi @MiserableButLovesFood

Welcome on board! I hope you don't get put off by that vomit 🤮. If my experience is anything to go to, you should be at your goal by the end of the summer. Doesn't that sound an appealing prospect? Good luck!
