Well Done! @BlueMumma2018 and thank you so much for starting this thread.
I hope you come back to let us know how you're getting on!

I took my second dose this morning, and 12 hours later im vomiting - just like last week.
I think I need to change the day of this medication. I'm guessing if I want to move from injecting on a Saturday to say, a Thursday I will have to miss my usual day instead of injecting 2 days early, is that correct?
So I'd do it 4 days later than usual instead?

If anyone can advise me that would be great!

Ugh, I feel really crap.

Aliflowers · 02/06/2024 08:30

If you’re vomiting and feeling poorly I’d push the date out rather than pull it in. Remember wegovy has a half life and is cumulative so every week you inject your increasing the dose in your body even injecting the same dose. What dose are you on? Could you split it into 2 and take a half dose and see how you get on

Nicebloomers · 02/06/2024 11:14

I inject before bed and make sure I have breakfast as soon as I get up @MiserableButLovesFood . I tend to have an egg for protein and piece of toast. It stopped me feeling sick. Small, regular amounts of protein help me with nausea.

Great advice from @Aliflowers I’m just going up to 1.7 and I think I might split the dose as it seems a big jump from 1 to 1.7.

Well done @bubbletubble!

Aliflowers · 02/06/2024 11:39

@Nicebloomers i think it’s a massive jump from 1mg to 1.7mg. I’m on 1mg and don’t have any plans at present to go above that but if I did it would be small increments. I’ve only gone to 1mg the last 2 weeks having started (back) on 0.5mg in January so worked up to that dose over 5 months using 0.1 increments.

@MiserableButLovesFood id either split the dose or drop back to a dose that doesn’t have such bad side effects for you

Nicebloomers · 02/06/2024 12:34

@Aliflowers i stayed on 1mg for 2 packs and I sometimes extended the dosage days a bit so I’m definitely a bit nervous of ramping up some side effects going to 1.7mg.
Bit of an update about my slight dilemma about going on holiday. Just got back from a really lovely week on a half board basis and was worried about the damage I could do whilst away. I purposefully ate a lot of protein and the lovely salad things but I certainly didn’t deny myself anything. I ate desserts and plenty of fruit. Didn’t drink much alcohol and made sure I was drinking water. I braved the scales today. I’ve lost 1.5lbs while I’ve been away which I’m shocked and pleased about. I felt great about myself whilst there and wore summery clothes I haven’t fit into for a good 3 or 4 years. I have a defined waist!

31.5lbs down so far. Hovering delightfully around a dress size 12/14. Absolutely feel like I made the right choice regarding Wegovy and so thankful for the support I always receive on here.

UnicornAndSparkles · 02/06/2024 12:58

End of week 10 check in and I'm down 0.8lb this week. Not much but I have been constipated and not "gone" for 4 days 🥴 so hopefully may be a bit less tomorrow.

But I reached my 1 stone loss!

SW 205 lb
CW 191 lb
GW 177 lb (another stone) by 28 July (holiday)

The last time I was 191lb was May 2023. I've been steadily gaining around 1lb a month, if not slightly more, before I started on wegovy, so this loss feels big to me.

Final goal weight would be 12 stone / 168lb , which is pre-2-babies weight of 2017.

Aliflowers · 02/06/2024 13:08

Well done @UnicornAndSparkles and @Nicebloomers. You're flying it

I’m away in about 6 weeks and just gonna enjoy my holidays and not worry too much about the scales. It won’t be the food that’s the ruination of me but the alcohol. I actually find my appetite tends to disappear in the heat. I don’t drink regularly but on holidays it will be frozen daiquiris and margarita's daily but it’s only once a a year so gonna enjoy chilling in the sun with a frosty beverage

MiserableButLovesFood · 02/06/2024 14:06

Thanks for all the advice!
I'm only on the 0.25 starting dose at the moment. I only seem to vomit in the first 12 hours after injecting - I haven't been sick since. It's just awful when I'm in it and thinking "can I do THIS every week?!

I will try dosing in the evening and eating something small in the morning- good idea.
If that doesn't work I will have to administer less.

ByCoolMoose · 03/06/2024 09:59

@BlueMumma2018 thanks for starting this thread and good luck for coming off Wegovy, let us know how it goes.

My first week on 1.7 mg hasn't been that great, no major side effects other than extreme tiredness on days 2-3 after injection and some nausea, but also very little weight loss, a pound or so. I'm baffled how little I have to eat to even lose 1 lbs, so I'm quite worried coming off the drugs as I'm not sure how I would not be hungry all the time with such a small portions.

So since 1 March (13 weeks) I've lost 8 kg, just over a stone. Slow progress, but I guess it's still more I would've been able to lose with will power alone. I'm so hoping I can stay on 1.7 mg for couple of weeks as the next dose up is so expensive!

UnicornAndSparkles · 03/06/2024 11:03

@ByCoolMoose I'm at a similar stage to you, 1 stone lost at the end of week 10. Which is great but feels like it should be more given the amount I'm paying for this drug and the portions im eating!

I keep having to remind myself i was putting on around a stone every year for the last couple of years (post baby #2) on account of overeating.

bubbletubble · 04/06/2024 09:21

@Nicebloomers I'm going to stay on 1mg for another 4 weeks too, the jump seems massive and I've suffered from side effects throughout the Wegovy journey so I'm worried that jump is going to be too big.

I've lost another lb now so happy days, 21lbs in total, just hoping it continues for the next four weeks on the 1mg dose.

Nicebloomers · 04/06/2024 09:48

@bubbletubble I felt great during my second box of 1mg and was losing weight steadily. I may have jumped the gun with 1.7mg. I did a half dose last night. It was woefully inaccurate and I’m not entirely sure how much I injected 😂🙈. I will see how I get on later this week. I may well just drop back to 1mg in the future. I think I found my groove at 1mg.

bubbletubble · 04/06/2024 10:55

@Nicebloomers oh god 🤣 have you seen this website? If you scroll down to the bottom it gives you the dose per click. Let me know how you get on with the 1.7mg and I'll decide whether to take the leap next month 😬

@bubbletubble i’m so naturally elegant and accomplished 😂 Thank you for the link. I will actually research what I’m doing in future. I’ll keep you posted.

I've been on 1mg for 3 months now as it's working well but medexpress are out of stock. Anyone got any good deals elsewhere?

Thanks

If you want to try voy I've got a referral code for £80 off. I'm going to get the 1.7 and click count to get 0.75 each week as I find this amount works for me

Achieveanything · 08/06/2024 09:45

morning all,

weekend weigh in:
42F 5’6”
SW: 15st 6lb
CW: 12st 8lb
total: 2st 12lb (40lb)

it’s steady at about 1lb a week, counting clicks on 1.7mg pen.
i weighed mid week and was a pound less than that but im happy with slow and steady, i don’t want to pile it back on next year.

counting calories but still not regularly working out. Feeling very tired.
it sounds obvious but the protein, fresh fruit and veg is really related to my toilet habits, and energy levels.

no regrets on wegovy, hoping for another couple of stone and to finally get into a healthy BMI.

have great week all

MiserableButLovesFood · 08/06/2024 22:09

Hey 👋
I'm just going to catch up on the thread now.
I've just taken the advice on here and done my 3rd injection just now instead of In the morning.

I really hope this prevents the vomiting that I've had for the first day or so after injecting.

I've lost just over 2kg since starting which feels nice but I'd like it to be more!

I am due on, and I always gain weight then so perhaps I'll be even happier in a couple of weeks 😄

Oldandcobwebby · 10/06/2024 10:06

I'm off medication now, but I thought I'd drop in with an update.

Male, 60, hypothyroidism

16 weeks in and calorie counting - aiming for around 1200 kcal per day
Stopped using Wegovy a week ago

SW 197.3 lb
CW 166.8 lb

Total loss 31.3 lb
This week's loss 0.8 lb

I stopped using Wegovy after weaning down to 0.25mg for two weeks, and now I've had a week with nothing. I'm sticking around 1200-1350 kcal a day for the moment. So what's happened? Well, my bowels are more regular, for sure! I've not had any issues with hunger or cravings for food. It really feels like "business as usual". I've lost nearly another pound, which is an added bonus! To be honest, I'd been really concerned about what would happen without the support of Wegovy, but it seems my fear was misplaced. 😃

My plan is to check in here from time to time with updates, because I know many posters will be concerned about life after Wegovy.

In the meantime, thanks to all of you for your brilliant support. You all have my best wishes for your continued success on your journey.

You've got this! x

UnicornAndSparkles · 10/06/2024 10:48

That's such good progress @Oldandcobwebby . I've been tentatively following the moving on from wegovy thread and it's really positive to see you're still losing having come off the drug.

Toooldforthis36 · 10/06/2024 13:44

@Oldandcobwebby that’s really good to hear, I’ve been wondering how an exit strategy would pan out!

really well done 👏

ernbe04 · 10/06/2024 21:39

I have insulin resistant PCOS. I started wegovy in Jan. On max dose now and 2 stone down. It has stopped the constant food noise in my head and my periods have also regulated.

I’m so pleased for you @Oldandcobwebby i really am, it’d be wonderful to hear your updates-
i honestly think that with the increased exercise and calorie counting it will stay off.

@ernbe04 really great news for you, those are the important reasons for weight loss and it’s a good reminder that actually it’s a health medication not just vanity, which I’ve been preoccupied with.

I think I messed up on my clicks this week, I’m feeling hungrier but not able to eat the portions… still feel much better for losing the weight though.

have a great rest of week to all

MiserableButLovesFood · 12/06/2024 20:53

Has anyone had their period change on Wegovy?

Radish12 · 12/06/2024 22:07

@MiserableButLovesFood I don't think so, maybe one or two days closer together (that could just be my age!) but nothing else.

I have put on weight this week for the first time since starting Wegovy in early December - 1.5lb. I mentioned that I have a few big events happening over the course of a fortnight, well I'm halfway through that, two down and one to go. It's been really busy and stressful and tiring (but good!) and I've also been eating out a lot and not watching what I'm eating in between. My appetite is still small, in fact a friend of a friend commented that I don't eat much, I guess I'm just eating too much rubbish and not enough proper food - but I don't have the capacity for it at the moment. Nor exercise. Will aim to get right back on the horse from Monday.
