Beating the Chun Rub! Help!

*Edit - Title should say CHUB RUB not Chun Rub 🙄

Ladies (and others whose thighs chafe when not separated by winter clothing!)

So, the weather is HOT and I've brought out the summer dresses in a (mostly futile) attempt to stay cool. The issue is that my thighs are used to being separated by a layer of denim on each side and have no idea how to interact with grace when it's been removed. The friction, sticking together (even when I'm walking, making me put in a weird Igor-worthy stride every few steps), and sweatiness caused by the whole situation is infuriating and actually quite painful. As I type this, I'm sitting with a frozen hot water bottle between my legs to reduce the redness and stinging sensation.

What do you similarly affected folk do to avoid/mitigate/stop this happening altogether?! Please help!

Cycling shorts

Doesn't that get too warm and defeat the whole point?

Generously applied roll on deodorant. Then I keep it in my bag for topping up if needed.

SarahLHs · 30/06/2025 21:48

Chub rub shorts from snag tights are amazing. They are so breathable but stop the horrible thigh chafe.

Liquid Talc!

Does that sting if applied over previous chafing?

You either wear shorts, lots to choose from or you choose to apply a product such as Glide anti chaffing. Your choice. I personally go for the shorts option as I feel they soak up some of the sweat rather than it running down my legs Grin

Snag chub rub shorts. Don't make you hot and stop the rubbing. It means I can comfortably wear dresses all summer long. Whereas previously I'd wear Leggings and dresses or jeans.

Queenfreak · 30/06/2025 21:49

I use chub rub shorts from snag. Other sellers are out there.

There is liquid talc which works well too

No, I don't get too hot in them and im naturally v sweaty. I buy the cheapo lycra/cotton ones from primark. I've tried talc/balm but cycling shorts work the best (and soak up the sweat).

Kuretake · 30/06/2025 21:50

I used mega babe thigh rescue for running - name is cringe but it works really well.

Sunnyshoeshine · 30/06/2025 21:50

I have a mix of chub rub shorts from Snag (which are like thin tights material) and cotton ones from amazon, which are warmer but feel more secure. Popsy also do a range called "underpops" which look like thick tight style material - not tried these myself yet but come in a better range of colours.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 30/06/2025 21:51

Totally worth it. I like that they're cotton.
And because they're knickers you haven't got an extra layer like the nylony shorts you can buy.

Tasktalkmonkey · 30/06/2025 21:51

https://amzn.eu/d/2sFgRXm. Liquid talc.

myplace · 30/06/2025 21:51

If using chub rub shorts, consider wearing nothing under them. It totally alleviates the feeling of wearing one layer too many. Use them as pants, basically. Even the synthetic seeming ones. Even if you usually avoid synthetic underwear.

Oh yes... definitely this!

I hate their ethos, but can’t fault the chub rub shorts. I have 6 pairs and they’re very hard wearing.

Snag chub rub shorts. And nothing else!

Don’t know, sorry.

What's their ethos?
