Beating the Chun Rub! Help!

*Edit - Title should say CHUB RUB not Chun Rub 🙄

Ladies (and others whose thighs chafe when not separated by winter clothing!)

So, the weather is HOT and I've brought out the summer dresses in a (mostly futile) attempt to stay cool. The issue is that my thighs are used to being separated by a layer of denim on each side and have no idea how to interact with grace when it's been removed. The friction, sticking together (even when I'm walking, making me put in a weird Igor-worthy stride every few steps), and sweatiness caused by the whole situation is infuriating and actually quite painful. As I type this, I'm sitting with a frozen hot water bottle between my legs to reduce the redness and stinging sensation.

What do you similarly affected folk do to avoid/mitigate/stop this happening altogether?! Please help!

Chub Rub from Snag. M&S also do similar style but probably better quality. No, they don't make you any hotter, in fact its a relief to have them on.

Wirapa, who do the comfiest pants known to female kind, do a shorts version. I have swapped out my snag chub rub shorts for these. Cotton and don't require knickers under so saving a layer.

Can I ask how you find the sizing? I'm a 16/18 and not sure if I should go for l or xl

Chaffree - recommended on Mumsnet years ago. They are amazing, like a second skin - actually keep you cool. I never wear anything else and chucked all my other ones. Eye wateringly expensive BUT they last for years. Worth every penny. Buy a multi pack for better value

These Womens KnickerBoxers anti chafing are super soft, stretchy, seamless, breathable and wicking with inbuilt moisture management system.

Chub rub shorts from snag tights are amazing. They are so breathable but stop the horrible thigh chafe.

Agree with this quote. I only started wearing dresses again a couple of years ago when I discovered these, they are fantastic, wash well and do not make you hot.

Agree with PP that I’d never buy from Snag again due to their fetishisation and dreadful attitude towards women - so ironic given we’re their customer base!

Thankfully there are good - or even better - alternatives out there. I found the Sloggi ones great to wear without any underwear. I have particularly chunky legs and they stretched without digging in.

Second Sudocrem if you do get caught without your shorts and suffer the dreaded CR.

I tried a glide cream on my inner thighs - it worked but honestly, it just felt as if I’d been caught short with a heavy period and it was about to run down my legs 😂🫣

Thankyou whoever suggested the stick/cream deodorant! Very pleased with results for inner thighs and also good for underboobs. Effective, smooth and comfortable and nice very light scent. 👍

This is definitely a case of different solutions for different people/bodies, I wear M&S shorts and they have changed my life! I don’t like the Snag shorts as I find the leg length too long so they show under a knee length skirt and they just aren’t as comfy as the M&S ones. I wear them as knickers and they feel nice and cool
