I'm in the midlands with an amber warning ⚠️. Is anything going to happen?

It snowed in Horsham (Sussex) Saturday evening then the mild air arrived and it turned to rain and the inch of lying snow thawed. Standard SE England cold snap.

We have very little left thanks to the rain yesterday and overnight.

Fresh load of snow today in Staffs. Luckily schools already closed for inset days!

All clear here today in Bristol – it has rained loads – but now we have a yellow warning for Wednesday.

North Mids. 2" overnight. Started at 4am, went on til 8am.

Closed? They haven't even reopened. Love how inset days are always tagged on to a weekend.
When my child was at Primary, her teacher told me that on her inset day, they all had to be fairies and dance in a circle!

Though the airfield is reporting 6C

Must be more exposed than my garden.

The rain has stopped.

There are 3 schools closed in my area that weren’t having inset days today. We have quite a bit of snow from last night but it’s mainly bits of drizzle today. Forecast more snow overnight and my kids are very hopeful for a snow day off school tomorrow!

If you look at the Amber warning map, the North Norfolk coast is not under it. So the chances of snow ever coming here is tiny, although it has been raining for the last 2 days.

Devon/Somerset border - snowing but not settling

South Coast down to 5C so no snow. Rain has moved South into the Channel. Tomorrow will be cold but some sun, and above freezing.

We had more snow in the early hours of this morning. About an inch and a half. It's starting to melt now and though.

We had a small amount of wet snow which promptly froze. It's due to be washed away by rain soon though, thankfully.

About another inch in south Manchester. Roads were terrible this morning on the school run. Feel like maybe it caught everyone out.... the roads didn't look like they'd been gritted.

Nothing happened over night in north east wales but it’s snowing quite a lot now.

For info the Manchester airport forecast for last night certain contained a prediction of some snow, so it shouldn’t have come as a complete surprise to the council.

We were predicted sleet (Essex) but got nothing, now saying possible sleet Wednesday.
i was hoping for another dusting!

my best friend has just arrived in Manchester and said there’s about 2-3 inches and still snowing!

Freezing here, the snow has half melted and frozen again repeatedly and I still can't move either of my cars. 'Feels like' -9 tonight and -11 tomorrow, so no chance of it thawing anytime soon.

I'm really fed up here in West Yorkshire. There are mounds of snow all over the pavements and on the smaller roads in the middle of where car tyres drive. Temperature for the next few days is below freezing, and I've never thought about moving abroad so much in my life.

I don't trust the council enough to get the gritters out tonight because I think they've been shite over the last few days, and so I don't want to drive on basically an ice rink. What the fuck are we paying council tax for again?

I agree it’s awful. We haven’t been able to get out of our driveway or off our cul de sac since Sunday. The snow has become compacted ice, I’ve shifted some this afternoon but then it snowed again! Grit bins are empty. Pavements are treacherous. I’m stuck at home with my baby slowly going crazy as we can’t even get out for a walk, I’m scared of slipping over with her in the sling.

Sorry you are going through it too. My post was extremely pessimistic and there will be people in worse situations, totally isolated. Being a little more positive, it is only set to last until the end of this week where I am, and then temperatures are meant to rise again.

I saw on the news today about a pub in the north, and all the customers have been stuck there since Sunday and they have a months supply of booze and food - lucky bastards 🤣
