Although cold, snowy weather is still possible, we are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological spring (1st March)
So here are some thoughts from The Weather Outlook on what we might expect.

Well... it was nice while it lasted. It's warmish but so damp and it's time to plug the dehumidifiers back in 😩

No, I've been wondering where kitten is too, hope she's okay.

gingercat02 · 15/05/2024 14:17

I did notice Kitten was awol. Hope all is OK.
We have sun today. It's not that warm, but my washing is drying while I work from my dining room 🌞

RainbowZebraWarrior · 15/05/2024 15:01

I know kitten is posting on other threads, but I think the weather threads started to take over her life a bit.

Sending love, kitten if you're reading ❤️

Apologies if you have rain. I sorted out my wardrobes this morning putting all the winter stuff in the back 🙈

Pixiedust1234 · 17/05/2024 23:06

Rain?? I think it needs to be called something else considering it's almost constant. This morning when I woke up at 6am the whole street was covered in thick fog 😱

SabreIsMyFave · 17/05/2024 23:27

Well it rained ALL DAY yesterday (Thursday 16th May,) but it's been perfect today. I was working, but as I work from home, I worked in the garden! (North Midlands here.) The last 3 weeks has been (mostly) OK - or really nice here. Gonna be nice tomorrow too. DH is working all weekend, so I am going for a walk by the River. Smile

It does look pretty wet tomorrow!

The Met Office Deep Dive on YouTube said temperatures have been above average for May, and it's also been dryer than average. Obviously that's taking the whole of the UK into account. And it might change tomorrow 😂I don't feel like it's been constantly raining here on the London/Kent border though 🤷‍♀️

justasking111 · 21/05/2024 21:49

Well we were forecast rain and thunderstorms today, it's been lovely.

I've given up on forecasts for the western coasts.

countrygirl99 · 22/05/2024 07:54

It's been missing down since yesterday lunchtime here. Horses have only been out 24/7 since Friday and that was after a lot of umming and aahing as they were still very soft. And now the fields are waterlogged again.

justasking111 · 22/05/2024 07:56

Went from dull to lashing down, back to dull half an hour ago. A good day for catching up in the office.

RafaistheKingofClay · 22/05/2024 08:01

Feels cold today. Or might just be me. Have a warning for thunderstorms this afternoon.

Notonthestairs · 22/05/2024 08:02

We've had non stop heavy rain since 5pm yesterday and my garden is a lake. Haven't seen it look this bad for a good few years.

RafaistheKingofClay · 22/05/2024 08:07

Apologies to whoever it was in the SW that mentioned rain. I spent last summer researching drought resistant grasses to reseed the lawn with and I don’t think it’s stopped raining since.

GloriaSmud · 22/05/2024 10:10

Amber warning for rain now issued by the metoffice.
Thoughts on today's weather from Netweather.

RafaistheKingofClay ~ it isn't just you that thinks it's cold ~ 'tis wet and a chilly 13C here (Leicester) today.

Next week, still might be a chance of showers but looks drier and warmer

So, so soggy. Parts of Edinburgh have had over 100mm in the last 36 hours and it's still raining.

justasking111 · 23/05/2024 22:38

My son and friends were supposed to be camping this weekend, they cancelled. The site is waterlogged apparently.

justasking111 · 23/05/2024 22:40

Oh the weeping willow we put in three months ago is throwing out branches like nobodies business. I've never seen a tree settle in this fast.

Oh lovely. I'm in the middle of that yellow splodge. My garden paths are still puddled from the last lot sighs Thanks for the info though Gloria.

GloriaSmud · 25/05/2024 18:54

<sigh> I know Pixiedust1234. I'm in the southern bit of that warning area. The garden and allotment are just about dried out now. It's nice to see the weeds are growing well at both places as a result of all the rain!....😱

Ah, we weren't under the warnings and now we are - thanks for the heads up Gloria. Going to rethink my afternoon.

justasking111 · 26/05/2024 16:59

We had rain all night and this morning which stopped in time for a church christening, then it was sunny. Dark clouds piling up again. It's very close with not a breath of wind. Off to check the lightning map
