Although cold, snowy weather is still possible, we are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological spring (1st March)
So here are some thoughts from The Weather Outlook on what we might expect.

Chance of more thundery showers today but it's getting better towards the weekend. Chance of frost over the next few nights though.

Dogs were at the front door when the hail started. They turned tail. Walkies delayed this morning.

It's so cold 🥶

I see the situation in Dubai has prompted a trend on Twitter, cloudseeding.

I have been wondering about that here this winter! 😂

It's very cold here too. It's a good thing I didn't believe the 10 day forecast earlier this month because they had the temperature forecast much much higher. Certainly my mum is disappointed.

I think I've just reached a point where I probably won't look at the weather forecast anymore at all, I haven't looked at it since Friday I think. Just assume cold till #heatwave trends on Twitter, and always carry a brolly.

Friday was a nice day (so obviously I was indoors for a three hour meeting and wrongly dressed) and they told us that would be it, but then Saturday turned out nice too.

So that was another day where I could have had a decent long walk but because there was rain forecast, I didn't.

i think going out with a big coat is just inevitable isn't it. Not driving means I have coats for the midpoints of weather but it's been too cold every single time I've tried wearing one.

many walking areas haven't dried out round here, they haven't had a chance.

It was lovely and sunny this morning, even the stray cat lingered in the sunshine after eating. This afternoon the sky is a funny shade of brown and it's hammering down 😢

I guess it could be worse, I could live in Dubai 😬

Cold - very cold - but dry and occasionally sunny - and not so windy - take that as a win

I'm bloody freezing. Fully dressed, plus winter fleece full length dressing gown, plus Christmas fleece socks and slipper boots.

Beautiful sunshine most of today - had breakfast in the garden - but as soon as there was a breeze, it’s freezing.
Keep reminding myself it’s Still Only April. I can deal with cold as long as there’s sun.

It dipped below freezing last night, but today for what feels like the first time in weeks, there was no wind. Only a slight breeze...from the NE and no rain.
I'm sure we've been driven slightly demented by the the relentless wind.

Perihelion ~ It does feel a bit weird to be looking at weather charts that don't forecast one storm after another now!

The week ahead looks ok. Tomorrow looks a bit overcast/showery for some but that's about the worst of it for this week. After that it's a combination of overcast/sunny spells/maybe a few showers around. It's still not great temperature-wise, they're only just making it above the 10C mark/low teens on some days and chilly nights, so a chance of frost for some places.

Just checked tomorrow’s forecast. Unsurprised that ‘showery for some’ applies to here.

I feel like I deserve a medal for keeping active the last few months. It rained all winter and now the wind is freezing. Still wearing gloves for running some days, in April 🙄.

The actual title of this thread makes me sad. Like, when was it? Have we had it? Is this - this perpetual let down - IT?

We finally got the grass cut yesterday, and now it fecking raining again!

any we've had TWO nice spring days in Hampshire so far. It's shocking. Every other day has been grey sky / rainy / blustery wind from hell.

Forecast here in Leicester looks to be rain and cold for the rest of time from today onwards. Come on warmer weather, my legs want to see some sun.

We put weed and feed on for this reason yesterday.

Today looks like the worst day of the week for some, in terms of temperatures/rain. After today, it's looking mostly dry, maybe sunny spells, odd shower, frosts in some places at night, not very warm by day ~ 12-14C. Friday night/into the weekend ~ looks like more rain moves in and looking at the GFS (which goes as far as the 7th May), this seems to be the pattern ~ a few dry days and then a few wet ones. The only thing that improves a bit are the temperatures ~ 15-17C for the south but colder for the north.

We had a lovely Saturday paddle boarding on the river. I’d forgotten what heat was like. I am truly thankful for it. But today…. 🌧️
