Snow watch.

While for many it is milder today, it will become colder again tomorrow. The main snow risk starts on Thursday where both GFS and ECM show a risk of snow in the south into the midlands and Wales, away from south eastern coastal counties. They both model a low moving in from the Azores, bumping into cold air.

GFS takes this right into northern England and parts of Scotland.

As always, early days and so there is lots of uncertainty. We await the next model run

I'm the same. Living in hope! I was thinking this morning that I'm sure it was 2003 that there was a forecast of heavy rain. The sky went a really weird colour and it did indeed rain hard but then it turned to a blizzard that went on and on. I think they described it as thunder snow at the time. Abandoned cars everywhere, people stranded. Didn't thaw for a long time. Nobody could understand how there were no warnings! I'm not hoping for that because it was awful but I would love a bit of snow for a couple of days!

I'm just looking at the radar for tomorrow. There's one thing I can pretty much guarantee; if we are going to have a possible 'weather event' it will always happen right on the school run. If the radar is right, it should hit the NE coast (England) at bang on 3pm.

Snowing and settling in South Manchester ⛄️

I'm south Manchester too and everywhere is white. I hate snow and panicking as I have to be at an appt the other side of Manchester at 9:30.

North Manchester has a good covering and still coming down, be careful on the roads this morning 😨

East Lancashire - a semi decent covering here and still coming down.

weather app was saying no snow three hours ago which just shows how unpredictable the snow is.

I woke up to incoming snow showing on my local app but it's gone now. No ice this morning but temperature showing as -4 (Herts).

Yay! Son woke me up at 6am saying it was snowing and settled. Swiftly went to the local park with him and the dog.
We're in South Manchester/Trafford area and its still snowing. Bring it on!! ❄️❄️❄️

Snow penetrating very well into northern England and parts of the Midlands this morning. This might be extending as far as Lincolnshire, though with dry air in the south, it's uncertain as to how much would make it to ground level.
