Old thread:https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weather/4767111-spring-weather-watch?page=6&reply=126854914

After the dramatic weather for some over the last few days, mostly covered in the Thunderstorm warning threads, I think it's time to switch to a new thread. After all, we are two weeks into meteorological summer.

Page 24 | Spring Weather watch | Mumsnet

Optimistically we turn our eyes towards Spring weather in the hope that we are in the last throes of winter. But March is a capricious month. ... It...

Thanks Kitten

I want a storm but we are not due one. My weather forecast says 26 for tomorrow, too much for the stuff I wanted to do especially if it's humid, so trying to work out if I can rejig things. It's really high humidity, it feels like.

Piggywaspushed · 10/09/2023 10:30

Not enjoying the air quality and pollen count either.

justasking111 · 10/09/2023 10:35

Garden furniture, trampolines etc may go a wandering

Pixiedust1234 · 10/09/2023 10:37

I've had a little drizzle this morning, enough to wet the path. No breeze and right now the sun is streaming through the windows. I think it drizzled just to shame me for getting the hosepipe out last night but my goodness, that boundary hedge was about to collapse.

beenrumbled · 10/09/2023 10:49

Some light rain in my bit of Greater Manchester. Not enough to wet anything. Hoping we get storms later. DD said we had thunder last night but very far off and no real rain with it.

GloriaSmud · 10/09/2023 11:02

We've had some sunny spells but it's mostly overcast here (Leicester) and a humid 25C
Netweather have issued one of their Thunderstorm Warnings which sort of matches the one the metoffice have.

We went to church 5 minutes away, no rain at church but it rained at home. Very localised shower, there's a wet/dry boundary at the end of our road Confused

countrygirl99 · 10/09/2023 14:15

It was sunny so I decided to have lunchin the gatden before getting the dry washing in. Big mistake. Had to dive in clutching my plate as it cloudedover and started raining.

beenrumbled · 10/09/2023 14:23

A few drops of rain again but all its done is make the humidity even worse

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/09/2023 14:44

Lots of mid level cloud has inhibited convection for many. It looks now as though the risk is further east. Including the SE.

I'm in the SE so what does that mean exactly? Thank you!

It means you have a chance of thunderstorms.

We've had a real cloudburst here (Leicester.) The temperature's dropped slightly but I'm not sure it's made much difference, just made it really humid!

BobBobBobbing · 10/09/2023 15:55

Cloudburst and torrential rain here in s tyneside. Ds2 was out in the garden and soaked through in 5 seconds flat. Our road is the exit route from the GNR and was like a river. Looks like the metro has been closed on the S Shields line as well. Not the best day for it to happen!

JEEEEEEESUS CHRIST can the east side of Britain PLEASE share their storms with the West? I'm begging 😭

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/09/2023 19:23

I'd like a storm. I keep forecasting them for others, but they keep avoiding me.

South east, we have no storms. ☹️

beenrumbled · 10/09/2023 20:46

Thunder heard in my sons student house in South Manchester. Lightning over Marple. Nothing here yet

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/09/2023 20:58

A stunning storm went through Lincolnshire. Holbeach recorded a gust of 77mph with moderate sized hail.

And n Wales, so humid and not a sniff of rain 🥵

Notonthestairs · 10/09/2023 22:30

87% humidity here (Herts). It's grim.

Another one wishing for a storm to break. We had 3-4 minutes of rain at 6pm but that was it.

Roll on Tuesday.

My son 3 miles away had thunder and lightning - we had nothing. no rain since a light shower yesterday afternoon - house was still unbearable last night, and had only dropped
to 26 degrees downstairs this morning - upstairs was even warmer.

Livedandlearned · 11/09/2023 12:42

We had heavy downpours in SE Wales yesterday morning
