Early Summer weather watch

After the dramatic weather for some over the last few days, mostly covered in the Thunderstorm warning threads, I think it's time to switch to a new thread. After all, we are two weeks into meteorological summer.

It's possible that the peak temperature might be Sunday rather than Saturday.

Ive had a very pleasant evening sitting out with friends, no cardi needed in the dark.

How lovely, OYBBK. There was quite a nice breeze that came along here last night about 9.30pm ish.

Some thoughts from Netweather about the next few days.

There's a hot air balloon rally across the road from me this weekend. Perfect weather for them. They've had to cancel the last 2 due to bad weather. The early arrivals are floating overhead as I eat breakfast on the patio.

The temp here is apparently cooler than yesterday but the humidity feels worse and I am sweating buckets compared to yesterday.

Yeah, the Victoria line was sweltering. Even my throat was sweating.

We hit 30C again today. My ankles are all swollen because of the heat and itchy because ants got to them while I was sitting in the garden a few nights ago. I must remember to wear a 'Hazmat suit' in future if I want to sit out there again!

Got a blinding headache or something, my nose hurts and my car which husband hosed down is filthy again

Oh yes, justasking111, that as well ~ thumping headache which started yesterday and resorted to paracetamol today to get rid of it.

The storm situation looks quite potent this weekend, generally in central areas as indicated by the Met Office warning area. Where they occur hazards include flash flooding, large hail and lightning risks. Tomorrow looks especially strong with a central/north western emphasis.

Very dark and heavy to the west over the hills. Cooler which is welcoming. I wonder if the rain won't be earlier than forecast. Off to check Ireland

Was v v hot at 10am. Glad it's happened when it gets dark earlier though it doesn't cool down as much as I hoped.

It was shockingly hot at 10 am , I wasn't expecting that given that the sun rises later now. There's a pigeon sitting a few feet away in the birdbath so he's had enough too. Now he's been chased off by another wanting it's turn

I agree that I'm glad this heatwave has happened when it gets dark earlier but I think being in September has contributed to the high humidity at night?
