Thunderstorm warning Saturday 10th June.

Some areas could see the late spring drought break dramatically on Saturday. Thunderstorms could bring torrential rain, with associated surface flash flooding. Other hazards include hail, lightning and high winds.

A big caveat for those in the warning area though. Many areas may well stay dry. We cannot forecast the exact location of thunderstorms and heavy rain. The risk that they will occur in a region can be flagged, but not exactly where they will crop up.

So, if you are planning an event, stay weather aware and be prepared to change plans as needed.

On Sunday, the risk of storms continues, but perhaps not quite as high as Sunday and I think the risk area will shift more eastwards and perhaps northwards.

Not a drop here last night.

It's sunny and hot and still right now. Most of the forecasts I have seen are saying rain late afternoon. I got up early to get the washing out.

JFDIYOLO · 11/06/2023 11:28

It's tentatively hinting there might be some drizzle here. Maybe tomorrow.

🙄

GloriaSmud · 11/06/2023 11:40

Metoffice are giving us a 60% chance of storms from 3pm today. Yesterday I didn't think we'd get one but today, think we've got a better chance.

Vebrithien · 11/06/2023 11:49

Had about 30 mins of heavy rain in Bath, from 11 this morning.

pussycatinfluffyslippers · 11/06/2023 13:38

We had a decent storm giving us plenty of rain last night...only to be complicated by it going v dark v quickly me trying not to trip/tread on a cat who changed direction and ran hard into my ankle.
Don't worry - she's fine. Me, not so much 😺🤷‍♀️

Sat in garden having lunch with family, roll after roll of thunder coming down Conwy valley it went dark we couldn't see the hills in the distance, then it all faded away, not a drop of rain.

AutisticLegoLover · 11/06/2023 15:21

It's thundering and raining here now despite none being on the forecast.

GrannieD · 11/06/2023 15:39

Yaay we have thunder rumblings at last. According to lightening site it is 3 mile away. Just back from a 12 mile hike on the tops so very much needed right now !

WaterIris · 11/06/2023 15:44

Finally! Very grey here, muggy as hell. Just started rumbling a bit.

Had about 30 mins of heavy rain in Bath, from 11 this morning.

We’re just northeast of Bath, had about 20 minutes of fine drizzle, barely dampened anything 🙄

CosmosQueen · 11/06/2023 15:50

Hellishly muggy again 🤬

WaterIris · 11/06/2023 15:53

It's just started raining!!!!

Starlightstarbright1 · 11/06/2023 15:57

I was just reading this thought ooh is that thunder then just realised it was a plane flying over 😳🤣

BruceAndNosh · 11/06/2023 15:58

Thunder West of Heathrow now

GloriaSmud · 11/06/2023 16:06

Nothing here yet (Leicester) but there have been clouds building over the last hour or two. I'm watching a blob on the Netweather radar coming from Peterborough way that might give us something though.

Devastateddaughter · 11/06/2023 16:06

It's still really hot here in Essex, a few wispy clouds and a slight breeze but no sign of rain.

Iamacatslave · 11/06/2023 16:10

First rumble of thunder here in Surrey.

Thunder West of Heathrow now

Move north, move north! It's only 5 miles!

beenrumbled · 11/06/2023 16:10

Long loud rumbles of thunder in Manchester. Torrential rain and tbe drain at the garage blocked so it flooded. Quite a bit of lightning but it's the thunder that's been impressive

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 11/06/2023 16:26

Sky clearing now so I don't think we're going to get rain...
