Thunderstorm warning Saturday 10th June.

Some areas could see the late spring drought break dramatically on Saturday. Thunderstorms could bring torrential rain, with associated surface flash flooding. Other hazards include hail, lightning and high winds.

A big caveat for those in the warning area though. Many areas may well stay dry. We cannot forecast the exact location of thunderstorms and heavy rain. The risk that they will occur in a region can be flagged, but not exactly where they will crop up.

So, if you are planning an event, stay weather aware and be prepared to change plans as needed.

On Sunday, the risk of storms continues, but perhaps not quite as high as Sunday and I think the risk area will shift more eastwards and perhaps northwards.

Its dropped to 27 now and clouds are looking a bit more grey. Cant remember when it last rained which is very unusual for Manchester!

It's VERY dark in my part of Cornwall at the moment. The clouds are so tall, thick and dark.

But we have no rain forecast. At all!

A small chance of an overnight storm, more of a chance tomorrow.

We're on the very north edge of the amber warning (NW coast) which has just come through from the Met Office. The breeze has picked up, and it's seriously oppressive outside. Still sunny for now, but the rain is surely on the way up?!

I'm in Cumbria. I'm desperate for rain. Never thought that would be a possibility! Our river is a trickle.

Hmmm we had warm rain earlier - just a few splashes and it’s cloudy but 24 degrees so we’re going paddle boarding. Hoping there won’t be any thunderstorms or we’ll have to come back on land. I think tomorrow will be more stormy here in Somerset but it feels changeable.

The wind is up, doors banging, as justasking said, what my Gran used to declare, was “blowing for rain”

Saw thunderstorms in Welsh pool area which looked more impressive. Wrexham has a few now and again. There's the odd bit of lightning over the Lleyn waters.

I'm just back in from watering everything. The clouds have pretty much disappeared, the breeze has dropped and the sky is mostly clear again. Plants are literally keeling over - I didn't water last night because I was hoping for rain today.

I've looked at rainradar and there is a big band of it heading up NW but it's towards the coast and Liverpool, so looks like it might miss us tonight.

The rain has just started here on the NW coast (just north of Liverpool). Cracking storm brewing too.

I’m near the staffs/ Cheshire boarder and it’s very grey over head. There has been a few lightening strikes on into the distance.

Nothing here in the SW, just overcast and humid after a gloriously sunny morning.

Watching Blitzortung lightning tracker on and off and it looks like parts of the West Midlands and NW are getting battered!

Would be nice to get some rain though.
