We were forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain today where I am. So far it's cloudy, boiling hot and not a drop of rain to be seen.
Has anyone had any of the storms predicted?

Nothing yet in South London. Hoping it will get here overnight or early in the morning. I'm done with this heat.

WarriorN · 15/08/2022 20:46

Apparently lightning over Carlisle and a bit on north York moors right now.

I saw a clip of torrential rain in London.

We had an attempt to splatter earlier, NE.

Uxbridge-not a drop
I'm checking the weather app hourly and love a good heavy thunderstorm
This seriously needs to break now, it's getting ridiculous, we're way overdue some rain

Babysharkdoodoodood · 15/08/2022 21:01

Mum had 4 hours of rain in Herefordshire. I've had nothing in West Mids and neither has Ds2, who is currently camping next to the river Teign.

I'm in Scotland. A thunderstorm started at 10pm last and went on until 2am. It then stopped and started again at 3:30am-430am. I managed to sleep for an hour and a half it was awful.

What made it much worse was that 2 years ago, almost to the day, we had the same type of storm with almost identical timings and the street flooded, our garden was flooded and water got under our house. So, I was very anxious that this might happen again. Thankfully it didn't.

So far today all it's done is rain, I'm hoping it stays that way.

We had lots of thunder and lightning during the night early morning. Some heavy rain too. Eastern Scotland. It was lovely. On and off rain all day.

I love a good storm like that.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 15/08/2022 21:13

I’m in Stoke.

We’ve had a few 5 minute showers of rain but no thunder or lightening. It’s about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday though but still pretty humid.

Bitterbean · 15/08/2022 21:19

It was pelting down in north London last time I looked, about 10 minutes ago.

MsJuniper · 15/08/2022 21:19

It's raining in north London. Feels like it could thunder but hasn't yet.

FreezyFreezy · 15/08/2022 21:22

It slung it down here in west Yorkshire about 7 ish I think. Not for long though. It's overcast now and feels a lot cooler and fresher outside. I have the door open.

I'm West Yorkshire too. Only the tiniest drizzle for 10 minutes earlier though. It does feel a little cooler but still got fan on and back door open.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 15/08/2022 22:00

Right, that's it!

How do I get in touch with the weather gods to log a complaint?

The rain and storm was meant to be here at 8pm, it's 10pm now, I'm sat in my still rather warm and very dry garden because my house is too hot.

Where is the breeze and rain that was supposed to bring a refreshing nights sleep?

MrsLangOnionsMcWeetabix · 15/08/2022 22:27

There’s a worrying amount of rain falling in central Scotland tonight, it’s been hammering down for a couple of hours now and according to the forecast it’s going to last well into tomorrow.

MoreHairyThanScary · 15/08/2022 22:53

North of Scotland had a torrential storm with thunder and lightening ( soaked through to underwear!) yesterday and has been drizzly on and off today. Weather for the next week is much of the same ... we are here on holiday!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 15/08/2022 23:22

We had a bit of halfhearted rain earlier in East London, then it petered out.

It is still hot and sticky and unpleasantly humid.

womaninatightspot · 15/08/2022 23:32

Been pissing down all day in Perthshire.

RewildingAmbridge · 16/08/2022 12:56

This is it, the heavens have opened! Been raining about 45 minutes and it's now really hammering it down. Sky is a blanket of grey cloud Andi think I just saw lightening. I'm in Essex

SNAFU247 · 16/08/2022 13:19

Still waiting for the first drop of rain here in Cambridgeshire....

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 16/08/2022 15:27

We had a downpour this morning SE. We were at the park with friends and the kids just carried on playing in the rain it was lovely

SisterBeaverhausen · 16/08/2022 15:48

Cambridgeshire. We're raining and it's started thundering. The baby with a viral fever is enjoying the cooler air as is the Mummy with a heart condition!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/08/2022 15:50

We had some good rain in East London - solid but not torrential. Hopefully it will soften the ground so if we get heavy rain it can soak in.

CravenRaven · 16/08/2022 18:05

Grantham-way here.... not a drop so far. Despite it being an almost 100% from 4pm (according to the forecast).

It's never going to rain again, is it?

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 16/08/2022 18:10

We've got heavy rain and a single thunder clap in Leicester

GloriaSmud · 16/08/2022 18:30

I heard that rumble of thunder, FatAgainItsLettuceTime (also in Leicester), while out walking FosterDog.
It's gone very quiet and still - and looking at Netweather's radar, I think there's more rain/thunder to come.

TenoringBehind · 16/08/2022 18:42

Heavy rain now. Leics.
