We were forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain today where I am. So far it's cloudy, boiling hot and not a drop of rain to be seen.
Has anyone had any of the storms predicted?

OP posts:

Nope. Fine rain around 8 am and what then dry and sunny again.

Blackdiame · 15/08/2022 19:15

Mid Wales boarder. We've had drizzle all morning and a quick storm passed over head about an hour ago. We've got thunder grumbles all around us now but it's bright sunshine.

Not even any rain yet 🤷‍♀️

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 15/08/2022 19:18

Buggerall here in Wiltshire, we had a few spots when I headed into Chippenham earlier. That wasn’t even enough to need to use the wipers ☹️
Looking at the bbc weather I don’t think we’re going to get much if anything at all!

bigbluebus · 15/08/2022 19:25

We were camping in the Shropshire hills until this morning. It was forecast to rain at 11.00 but of course it started at 9.00am before we'd got the tent down. It was still raining when we got home and has rained on and off all afternoon so we haven't been able to get the tent - or a week's worth of washing dry!

I keep getting notifications on my phone from the Met office saying thunderstorms possible from midnight tonight for 24 hours - originally it was forecast for Monday.

Rainraindontgoaway · 15/08/2022 19:29

We are having a big thunder storm right now. Lots of rain. It is lovely.

SNAFU247 · 15/08/2022 19:30

Not a drop here. It's still 27 degrees, not much cloud and humid. Was breezy earlier but even that's gone now. Sigh.

Crazymadchickenlady · 15/08/2022 19:31

Rained on and off all day. Lots of rain and thunder here this afternoon.

itsnotmeitisactuallyyou · 15/08/2022 19:32

NoSquirrels · 15/08/2022 19:33

Thunderstorms here on Welsh borders so might be heading your way depending on what part of the Midlands…

itsnotmeitisactuallyyou · 15/08/2022 19:34

made no sense that

Lesterjosephgale · 15/08/2022 19:36

Cheshire - fair bit of rain this morning, still warm.

FingersofFish · 15/08/2022 19:58

South Yorkshire here. Storm clouds and 4 drops of rain but temp seemed to go up without a storm. It does feel like it's starting to cool hopefully but clear skies again so doubt we'll get a storm.

Just in the last few minutes we've had rain in SE London. Sadly I think it's already stopped. Sad

suzyscat · 15/08/2022 20:05

North London thunder not predicted till tomorrow on my app. Even the. Chance of rain is between 5-30% at various points of the day with only 0.1mm to a small interval of up to 1.3mm level of rain forecast. Confused

weegiemum · 15/08/2022 20:11

Huge storm over Glasgow last night and there's been pretty much continual rain all day today. Nice and fresh and cool now.

Mudddypaws · 15/08/2022 20:16

Woken up by thunder and lightening last night in Cumbria, some heavy downpours today and it is feeling much cooler.

MostlyHappyMummy · 15/08/2022 20:20

Midlands - not a drop of rain so far although forecast overnight

Kent and its currently 26 degrees and not looking like we will be getting any storms

Bananaman123 · 15/08/2022 20:24

Scotland from 9pm last night til about 4am, lots of lightning and very loud thunder, so much so my dog was practically lying on top of me to comfort her. Poured down all day today too.

KurtGeigerCounter · 15/08/2022 20:24

Thunderstorm and torrential rain for about half an hour here on the south Welsh borders - yellow skies and everything.

(Hoping there'll be an encore tonight for visible lightning!)

TroysMammy · 15/08/2022 20:27

No. 5 minutes of rain at 4.30am and 10 minutes of light rain at approximately 11.30am. Swansea has it's own micro climate. We get snow 2 weeks after the rest of the country and the weather forecast changes its mind like the weather.

Watto1 · 15/08/2022 20:28

South East Wales and bugger all apart from light rain for an hour or so mid morning. I can see it on the lightning map about 15 miles away though! The storms appear to be incredibly localised.

Absolute belter of a storm here in northern Lincolnshire.

I don't remember seeing it on the forecast, when I checked last night whether to do more clothes washing.

Also in North Lincolnshire and we've had nothing!
